Painful charging experience and overcharging
Painful charging experience.
Using a charge card, no pre-auth required.
App doesn’t connect to say charge started, abandons moments later.
Use contactless card, charges ok, check account and being massively overcharged at 870 per kw instead of advised 54p, for a 7kw!
And the chargers are advertised at 22kw, and are incapable, now I know why they are unused.

Blink Charging. Forget it!
Not for the first time have I tried to use Blink chargers in Brighton Sussex. They are hopeless. I tried three times this weekend 4th Oct 2025. The first attempt the charging unit would not recognise my credit/debit card. I moved along to the next charger - same problem. The instructions on the charger are not clear as to whether an app is required. Moved to a fresh location where up to 200kw was offered. It recognised my card and began charging at a measly 25kw. I tried to call the 0800 number but they were experiencing a high level of calls. Surprise, surprise. I gave up after about 20mins with around seven miles added to my car. Whoopee! Tried another site the next day. Same problems. Registered the app and a credit card but charger would still not recognise anything. Gave up again. If you need to charge up avoid this company they are worse then useless.
Scam tactics
Shocking customer support and experience at Q-Park Royal Liverpool Hospital and their Blink chargers. We tried to charge and the app confirmed payment of £30 pre-authorisation and sent an email confirming the start of the charge. Arrived back a few hours later to see the charger was faulty and failed to charge, leading us to find elsewhere. Called support and told not to worry, they we’re looking into it and had difficulties connecting to the charger themselves. Told they couldn’t refund the £30 and would email back soon. No email received - disgusting treatment and had to take it up with bank and Q-Park. Avoid at all costs.
Useless company hopeless app
I agree with the reviews which cite inconsistent and incorrect updates on their app. When I contacted them about an out of service charger, I received an automated response acknowledgment but Blink had absolutely no intent to address the issue. How this company continues to operate is a mystery
Third time I've used the charger
Third time I've used the charger. Came up with a non specific fault. Transpired the app was actually asking for the password that it had forgotten. Reset the password, but by this time the Blink charger had crashed my cars inboard AC charger. I was stuck, couldn't turn the car off or lock the doors! Was about to leave the car unlocked and turned on, when the car finally reset itself.
Never had this with ANY of the chargers I've used.
Utterly hopeless.
Shockingly bad company
Shockingly bad company
Plugged my ev in, failed to charge, took 50quid from my account. 1 guy also there was stuck stranded due to dead battery. No sign at all saying there was a pre authorisation charge. Called customer support. All I got was I should have downloaded the app, the charges are all on there. I dont want to download your app. I want my 50 quid back, told the lady on the phone, no charge occurred as it immediately failed. She said money would be back next working day. 3 weeks later, im still waiting for my refund, so basically they have attempted to steal my money, customer service offered 0 help. Charger failed. I should charge the same interest as a short term loan since that's essentially what it was, they took my money. Avoid at all costs.
Avoid using
Over priced pre-authorisation fees X4 and still NO charge.
I now have limited funds available until they give me my money back.
Will definitely not be using again.
Blink isn't trustworthy
Blink is basically a scam. Cost me $147 for something that's less than $20 anywhere else for charging your car. Called Blink's customer support initially to start the charging process and was never told about the excessive fees for using their charging station. When I got the bill, I called back and was told the property owners set prices. There's no way to contact property owner so they just get to keep your money.
Worst possible EV charging experience
We tried to charge our car at the Liverpool One car park. We couldn’t download the app because there’s no signal in the underground car park where the chargers are located. When I tried to pay with a credit card, the payment terminal gave an error message and then the screen just went black. Likewise, the customer service representative could barely hear me when I called because of the poor signal, and then kept asking me for a serial number which wasn’t the number clearly listed on the charger.
Compared to using a Tesla Supercharger where you just plug in and forget about it. Also, the charging rates are not displayed and can only be accessed by scanning a QR code, but as there’s no signal down there you can’t access the page. I couldn’t think of a more complicated and inconvenient way to charge a car if I tried.
Errors all the time, terrible…
Errors all the time and you get charged money for it even if your car gets no charge due to the machine failing. Terrible customer service that made me wait a half hour and kept insisting that even though the charge port failed 5 times now that I owed them money
The most business illiterate company I…
The most business illiterate company I have ever used.
Blink's business is EV charging, yet they put hurdle up for the process of charging your car. Often their points are dead, or the network is dead. But today, I plugged in and was told I had to sign up to charge, despite have been signed up for 18 months, and then the sign-up fails due to 'too many attempts' (one).
I honestly struggle to think how a business who makes it this hard to access and pay for their services are still in business.
Thankfully my local council has told me they've ended their contract with Blink as of end of the year, so hopefully we'll have someone better running charging here, they could hardly be any worse than these cretinous clowns.
Absolutely awful experience EVERY time…
Absolutely awful experience EVERY time I try to use a blink machine. Currently have £120 pending on my current account which is due to x4 failed attempts to charge my car. I was desperate so persevered!
It is clear their app is happy to authorise funds, but the actual charging a car bit just doesn't work! Will be steering clear of these machines for all future excursions! Especially when you pay the car parking fee to then have to go elsewhere to find a charger from a component company!
Waste of time
Hospital car park, no choice but to use. Blink App wouldn’t let me log in so couldn’t charge car. Had travelled 180miles for hospital appt, so really needed to charge up to get home. Paid £5 to use the car park too.
App won't let me complete account…
App won't let me complete account registration, just sooooo slooow my phone times out and throws me back to the beginning. How can they run a business like this. Oh, and couldn't charge my car at the charge point because a) didn't have the app and b) none of my debit cards would work.
Woeful
An underserved 1 star just to let…
An underserved 1 star just to let others know who useless you are. Poor service! You have a pay by card option that does not work on all of the three of your chargers in the vicinity. Calling you in desperation because I had no charge left, you said the pay by card is disabled and I need to download your app and sign up. There’s no information about this on any of the chargers. After downloading the app to sign up it became apparent you cannot sign up, only log in despite telling me i could. I had no charge left and told you I was struggling. The app is useless. You said you would call someone to get a code so I could use the pay by card or access the charger in the circumstances. I told you I was stranded and double checked with you that you’d call back and you said you would call back in 20 minutes. That call was at 10:45am. It’s now 22:05 and I’m home having had to miss work, cancel appointments to get the car sorted. You did nothing and fobbed me off leaving me waiting for your call when there was clearly no intention of calling me back. That’s unacceptable service. You could have said you can’t help and I would have called recovery. It’s unfortunate that all the chargers I tried were not working, BP Pulse being one of them. It’s not your problem I had no charge, but your app and chargers are not fit for purpose with no information alerting you the need to use the app, and even then the app does not work, and you didn’t bother to come back to let me know and left me waiting. You’re useless!
Blink is a Nightmare
I've twice tried Blink and have not come close to being able to use it. And customer service has no option to talk to a human. I will do everything short of pushing my dead car to avoid using Blink.
Dreadful EV charging network
Dreadful EV charging network, app and service. Persistently Blink Network (Ireland) charging points fail to connect, meaning you go from charger to charger trying to find one that works - all the while being deducted a 'deposit' of €30 minimum each time. The Blink EU and UK app is extremely slow to load, and painfully slow to connect to the charge point. The in-app complaints system to notify them of faults or issues frequently responds with "error, try again" and similarly suffers from slow, laggy, buggy performance. Using other EV chargers/companies (EasyGO, ESB ecar connect, Monta charge), I have never encountered these issues and so frequently. RECOMMENDATION: AVOID at all costs.
Worst Charging company in the market AVOID!!
If i could leave minus stars i would. I charged using a Blink Charging port in Burnley 11/04/2025. When paying the machine took a pre authorising fee of £60. Once i completed charging an additional £12.50 for the electricity used was taken. Today is the 23/05/25 and I still haven't received my money back and when speaking to the firm they simply say we will be in touch. Please avoid these charges like the plague. BP and other chargers are far more reasonable and easy to use.
Huge charges for faulty chargers
Started charging and all seemed good. Came back after 2.5 hours and found out my car was still empty, only 50 kilometers added. But the charge was 10 euros. After contacting customer service I was told the charges were normal: 10 euros for 50 kilometers. Totally disproportionate and customer service just keeps repeating the same statement. A big thumbs down for this charging company.
