I bought Borough Broth bone broth as an alternative to stock and was very impressed with the depth of flavour it added to my stew. Will definitely use again.

I love cooking with chicken and beef broth, which come in handy for making a range of dishes like casseroles, soups and stews. Full of flavour and high in protein.

These broths have a rich, deep flavour and greatly enhances the taste of a range of meals - soup, stews, ramen, pho, pasta dishes and more. They are a great alternative for when I do not have the time to make a broth from scratch. I love how they contain natural and quality ingredients, and how they come in a variety of flavours. The organic chicken one is especially good to drink when under the weather.

Both the chicken and beef broth have a lovely light texture and meaty taste. Great for using as a base for ramen or soup, the broth is healthy and full of protein. Pleased with the purchase.

The Beef Broth adds an amazing flavour sensation when used to make Chunky Winter Broth or as a stew base.
Its a great pick me up when you have been feeling under the weather.

I've been quite impressed with Borough Broth. They sell a wide range of bone broths (I'm a fan of the chicken broth) in big pouches. The 1kg pouches are great value for money: double the price of the 324g pouches for three times the product. In addition to this, I also like that they use organic products and seek to limit their impact on the environment, which is important to me as someone who tries to buy environmentally friendly products.

One thing I will say though, and that's why I've docked a star: you can often get their products cheaper by going to a supermarket. For example, at the time of writing this review, you can get the 1kg pouches for £11.25 from Ocado (versus £12.60 when going direct). The minimum order value on the Borough Broth website is also £30, so it makes sense to get some from a Sainsbury's or Waitrose to make sure that you like it before committing to a bigger purchase.

A good fish stock can make or break a dish but it's something I detest making. Besides that, I generally don't have fish heads and prawn shells or the carcass of a chicken at hand for the purpose! This is really really good stuff and it's got an amazing shelf life so you can stock up.

This is by far the best bone broth I’ve tried. It has a wonderfully clean, rich and savoury flavour with real depth, making it incredibly versatile in the kitchen. It works brilliantly as a base for soups, stews and especially ramen — just add noodles, eggs and vegetables for an easy, delicious meal at home.

It’s equally enjoyable on its own served hot, or used to give a natural flavour boost to a wide range of dishes. The quality is excellent, with organic ingredients and no preservatives or additives, making it a wholesome and hearty option.

It’s also very convenient to keep on standby thanks to the long use-by date. Overall, a fantastic product — delicious, versatile and highly recommended.

I’ve been a regular customer of Borough Broth since October 2024, ordering large quantities from them every month. I’ve loved the product and raved about them to lots of people; however, over the past several months, my experience has deteriorated to the point where I can no longer recommend them with any confidence.

Since around mid-2025, my orders have repeatedly failed to arrive on the scheduled delivery date. I receive order confirmation emails, but no dispatch notification and no delivery. Initially, I was told this was an issue with next-day delivery, so I began placing orders several days in advance instead. This made no difference. Each time, I’ve had to chase them by phone, as email responses take a long time and only further delay the order. Once I’m finally able to speak to someone, the order is manually processed and suddenly goes out. This has now happened 5 or 6 times.

I reached the point where I was phoning after placing orders just to make sure they’d been processed, but this completely defeats the purpose of ordering online. A customer shouldn’t have to take on this responsibility, you should be able to place an order with confidence and receive it when you’ve paid for it. This is particularly frustrating when ordering for a Saturday delivery, as there is no customer service available at weekends.

When you do manage to speak with customer service, the response is consistently apathetic. There’s been little acknowledgement of the inconvenience, vague assurances that 'the tech team has been informed,' and repeated promises that a manager would contact me, which has never happened. A one-off 15% discount doesn’t compensate for the fact that their ordering system is unreliable and the issues remain unresolved.

I’ve continued ordering longer than I probably should have because they offer low FODMAP broths and bulk ordering was convenient. However, once ordering itself became unreliable and inconvenient, it also made it impossible to ignore the decline in product quality. The broths used to be gelatinous and rich, but they’re now much thinner and almost watery, especially the chicken, which suggests a change in preparation or ingredients.

It’s really disappointing, as both the product and service were excellent when I first started ordering. If you value reliability, responsive customer service, and consistent quality, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.

I placed an order, but the first delivery contained less than half of the items purchased. When I contacted customer service to enquire about the missing item, I was informed that it was “on its way”. However, when the second delivery arrived, the order was again incomplete. By this point, I had wasted a significant amount of time waiting for deliveries, which is particularly frustrating at this time of year. The lack of consideration for customers’ time was evident throughout the process.

I therefore requested a refund for the missing items, as I did not wish to spend any more time waiting for what would likely be yet another incomplete delivery. The response I received was as follows: “Really sorry that this wasn’t included, we check our stock/production plan regularly, Pho wasn’t available at the time and won’t be until the New Year.” This response confirmed to me that the company was aware the item was not available, yet it was still being sold on their website as in stock.

Selling products that are known to be unavailable is misleading and demonstrates a lack of professionalism and respect for customers. The overall handling of this matter was unprofessional, discourteous and deceptive.

I will not be shopping with Borough Broth again. I regularly purchase similar products from Freja and have never experienced such poor service. This experience highlights the difference between a company that values its customers and long-term reputation, and one that does not. I would strongly advise others to think carefully before ordering.

I have used the chicken broth to make Pho and tomato soup as well as drinking it hot straight for the mug it's so tasty. I've also used their beef fat to crisp up roast potatoes - works a dream.

Tried the chicken broth and it’s just fab. Really light and I’ve since purchased more to keep in for winter colds!

Pack full of flaky scum like bits - do not buy.
Was told it was herbs from the end of a batch but whole 1kg pouch inedible as it wasn't herbs - more like the skin on top of milky tea floating heavily throughout liquid. Customer service not interested. This batch shouldn't have passed quality control. Terrible product for the cost.

Ordered on Wednesday for a Saturday delivery. Its now half way through Saturday and no sign of my order. No tracking information sent, my order says unfullfilled in my online order and theres no customer support over a weekend or bank holiday. Last time I order from here now.

I've emailed this company twice now: 02.07.24, with a follow-up email on 10.07.24; I had a simple product query. All they ever do is send out a generic response - "We are experiencing unprecedented demand", etc. etc., and then never get back to you.
This doesn't engender confidence in the company.

My elderly mother is on hospital (getting better thankfully). She loves the beef bone broth and it's all she'll eat without complaint! It's exactly the kind of thing your grandma would have made when you were poorly.
I have to say. it's bl**dy delicious and I'm jealous!
The ingredients meet with my exacting standards, so very, very happy all round.
