Bristow & Sutor Avis 

My experience with Bristow and Sutor has raised serious concerns about the accuracy of their statements and their willingness to provide information requested through formal legal channels. I would urge anyone dealing with the company to retain all correspondence and maintain a detailed record of every communication, including attempted contact, whether initiated by you or by the company. In particular, I have encountered claims that contact was made when, to my knowledge, no such communication took place.
For anyone with a genuine complaint, my advice is to submit requests for information formally, using the applicable legal procedures, and to preserve a clear audit trail through emails or letters sent by recorded delivery. Although my own efforts have not yet produced the answers I seek, I believe that documenting these requests and the responses received will help substantiate my concerns when and if I have to pursue the matter further.
Having reviewed the company’s public statements, including those available through Companies House and, in particular, its Directors’ Report, I find it difficult to reconcile its stated approach to conducting business with my own experience. In my view, there is a troubling disparity between the standards it professes and the treatment I have encountered.
Bristow and Suter clearly favour Fiction over Fact.

The only word I can use starts with . and ends in . for the twit I spoke to. No care for those struggling financially or health wise. Absolute disgusting low life company. Said they would get my car towed away if I didn't pay in full. I rely on my car as I can't carry heavy shopping or equipment. Wishing them all a horrible Xmas and the worst of luck. P.S I have been reading through these reviews. It's seems as though it's time to expose this corrupt company. Anyone wishing to participate please give ideas of how we start. This is appalling and needs to stop. Face Book group or something maybe to start the ball rolling or a petition but need numbers

Said they emailed me with a payme that needed paying but did not, so had to pay the full amount con artists

**UPDATE – 7 OCTOBER 2026: NOW REFERRED TO THE MINISTRY OF JUSTICE**

There has now been a significant further development in my complaint concerning **Derby City Council and Bristow & Sutor**.

The Council's internal complaints process has been exhausted. On **7 September 2026**, the Council confirmed that it would not enter into further correspondence, leaving serious questions concerning enforcement conduct, vulnerability safeguards, contractor oversight and public-sector accountability unresolved.

The matter has therefore now been taken beyond the Council.

A formal **regulatory and policy dossier** has been submitted to the **Ministry of Justice**, requesting consideration at policy level in relation to the regulation and oversight of the debt enforcement sector.

The dossier includes the **National Audit Office correspondence, Disclosure File Ref: GF 3747 26**, concerning the non-statutory status of the Enforcement Conduct Board. It also contains the supporting chronology, correspondence, evidence concerning Bristow & Sutor, and the documented involvement of senior Derby City Council officials.

The issue is no longer simply an individual enforcement dispute.

The wider question is whether the existing regulatory framework provides adequate accountability when serious concerns arise involving a private enforcement contractor acting on behalf of a public authority.

I have asked the Ministry of Justice to confirm whether the evidence will be referred to the appropriate policy officials and considered as part of its work concerning **debt enforcement regulation, oversight and accountability**.

I have also asked my elected representative to seek **ministerial scrutiny** of the dossier.

The documentary record has been preserved and the appropriate questions have now been placed before the relevant authorities.

ABHORRENT is all these people are. A previous review on Google maps got a rely stating to make a complaint & part of the reply stated '...we want to get that corrected as a priority....' I sent it in an email on 25 Aug 2026 & today, it's 30 Sept 2026 so over 1 month has passed & yet they stated 'priority' & in the automated email reply it states within 10 days, but I've had NOTHING as normal. Cowboy outfit for sure! If anyone replies now, don't tell me to chase it up or send again, do what you're meant to do & deal with it!

If I could give zero stars I would !! Get another text at 7AM to say I am due a visit. So sick of explaining to these idiots all the time. Yes I have a debt but you should look at my personal circumstances I have told you often enough.
Just rude bullies. And then they say on here sorry blah blah have sent a more information request. Filled that in god knows how many times and then never hear back until the next text and so it starts again. What a joke

Lowest of the Low. Impossible to deal with . Even when you send messages on WhatsApp they don’t respond. Customer service non existent as you get put through to payment lines. An absolute disgrace to humanity. Big companies like the Dart Charge should not use these monsters, beyond words!

Trying to collect a debt for a fine on a vehicle that I hadn't owned for 5 months. Advised them to check their information with DVLA and they refused and tried to threaten me with debt collectors to an address I no longer live at. Thankfully I have downloaded transcripts of the conversations and will be forwarding to the FCA. As well as seeking action for their obvious attempt to obtain money by deception, through their insistence that the debt is mine, even though I have written confirmation from the DVLA stating otherwise.

Disgusting company and their enforcement agents. Absolutely diabolical, dont acknowledge emails or answer calls and when they do eventually answer the phone they try their little bully boy tactics. Disgusting people.

Well I wouldn’t even give them a one star.

My friend is a nurse who as a terminal illness. she got a parking ticket which she received whilst working as a community nurse.
She as been too poorly to deal with this resulting in this going to court and balifts instructed.

Now a balift entered her property through an unlocked door whilst she was sick in bed awaiting the nurses to come and replenish her syringe driver.

The balift demanded payment and would not leave her was rude insensitive and even mocked her by saying if she was that poorly she wouldn’t be needing her car anyway when he threatened to take that !
The nurses came and also asked him to leave and he wouldn’t so eventually he was paid leaving a sick vulnerable woman and her young daughter distraught.

We are obviously taking this further on her behalf however we have been trying to get a valid email or contact number of who to complain to about the balifts conduct.
We have written to the local MP also and will not rest until we have answers as to why their practice was so unjust and they did not follow or adhere to the vulnerability of a terminal illness lady

Absolutely no communication possible!
First letter was a final warning PAY NOW for a PCN 6 months ago that I wasn't even aware of, no one at the office can deal with it as it's "gone too far" (still first letter stage) try the Whatsapp number off the letter and get an AI response so no help whatsoever.
Paid £50 off the total of £355 which in itself is insane for driving through a toll that I wasn't even aware of and no previous letters. Debt then increased to £540 a month later!!
How do these people sleep at night, its disgusting.

I was in a payment plan with them for council tax. I had an operation last october and forgot about plan. This tuesday hand delivered letter through the door. Rang bailiff who said was returning on thursday with locksmith. He was a vile man. Wouldnt speak to my husband just harrased me

This company knows that I am under a I,V,A but they still keep sending me threatening letters saying they are coming to remove my belongings from my property and when I ring them all I get is abuse and told we don't care about your I,V,A

Very nasty company who uses bullying tactics to force you into paying something you cannot pay. Do not care about your personal circumstances and how you can raise money you simply have not got but threaten to seize your belongings if you do not find money. Want blood out of a stone. Horrible people to deal with

I had disputed a car parking penalty with Cheshire West. This went to Northampton which took 14 weeks to be turned down with no chance of me giving my reasons. The fee originally £55 was now with Bristow & Sutor and now at a cost of £395. I had no correspondence regarding this since my original dispute but one of Bristow & Sutor's representatives turned up on my doorstep clamping my car until the debt was paid. He accused me of being a liar throughout the whole experience as I explained what had happened and only left after someone paid the debt for me. 2hrs later my car would have been towed away and the debt would have risen yet further. The whole experience left me shaken and very angry.

I've been waiting for 4 months for a refund!!!
