Could not have been worse I have never gone back as the experience that I had still affects me today

The Royal British Legion are a failure of a charity that spits in the face of veterans.
They spend their entire budget on poppy appeal adverts, putting on a front to the public as the armed forces advocate charity, hording public funds to enrich themselves without actually helping the veterans they collect the funds for.

They have abandoned me for over 2 months straight now while in a life threatening safeguarding emergency involving 200 plus days of street homelessness, they ignore sui cide warnings, and faile to act to save life.

They ignore their duty of care, lie that someone will speak to you soon when they don't, and shouldnt exist as a charity.

Their failure to act as my intermidiary in a dispute against charnwood councils criminal negligence and crimes has enabled the authority to ignore me as they have followed the example of the RBLs ingnorant negligence, and they are directly contributi.g to a veterans homelessness. A direct violation of the Armed Forces Covenant they are supposed to uphold and advocate for.

They should be disbanded as a charity and their royal charter stripped as they are not fit for purpose and actually harm veterans rather than help

I have asked the royal british legion for representation, they are a waste of space and time. I get emails which is disgusting stating the person couldn't deal with me as he had more important cases to deal with. I get promised telephone calls then they dont bother.
Whatbi would say is do not fund this charity.

I'm a veteran that went through a real nasty relationship break up. I was made homeless for 3 months. I contacted RBL because a found a flat. Having been told they will help with the advance rent and deposit to help me find my feet. They let me down and refused to help me. Ssafa refused because RBL refused. I have never been in this situation before. I even promised once I get back into work I'll return the money I needed the a place to live to help me I to work etc. But no. They have left me to struggle. All the money they got from donors. But just used to pay managers and not help veterans

I regret to give such a poor review for this charity because I believe in what it stands for. I love and admire our past and present troops.

I ordered several items including multiple pins, a large poppy for display on a vehicle, several paper poppies and some reflective poppies, so this wasn't a small order.

All but one of the paper poppies came ripped. The box that my nightingale pin (£28) came in was torn to shreds, as if a dog had ripped it to pieces. The nerve of the insert to talk about 'courage and CARE' when the package was in such a horrendous state and the pin itself was bent. I've had better shipping of fragile items all the way from China.

If this order wasn't from a charity, I would be refunding it. To send items in such a poor state for a charitable cause is genuinely insulting and poor showing from such a highly esteemed charity.

I would add images to my review if I were able to demonstrate just how bad the state of the items were in upon arrival.

The British legion helped my family in our time of need. We were in a situation which was saw us stranded abroad with a premature baby.

We approached the RBL and were assigned case worker Georgie Brownhill. Words cannot describe how she went above and beyond to help my family and secure us funding which allowed us to return back to the uk.

Throughout our time we spoke with Georgie everyday and conversed updates on both sides.

We are eternally greatfull for all that the RBL has done for us.

I know you will continue to help service members past and present and we will always advocate for the charity.

Georgie keep up the amazing work, you are a credit to the charity.

I placed an order for 2 items. Also donated. A cause which i strongly believe in. However they refuse to acknowledge my enquiry. I have not received any items. Evri have not received it! And i have contacted rbl twice. I requested a replacement or full refund.

i am disabled military veteran 14 years service ,i contacted RBL to see if any assistance could be given with my small garden ,but there was none ,ok , RBL sent me many email forms to fill out with wrong information of my service 14 years parachute regt & royal tank regt, i got so fed up with all these same emails with wrong information they where asking me to sign , my experiance RBL are in mess they do not, seem to know what they are doing, i will never contact them again ,i will have nothing more to do with them, i wish i had NEVER CONTACTED THEM. i mean no offence but they are not of any help.

I took parental responsibility of my children after divorce and the ex moving an abusive bloke in. I had to fight with councils and housing associations to get the tenancy into my name. The house was well all I can best describe as best to derelict in a certain term. The British legion gave me help financially over the Xmas period and paid for carpets which my children had been without for 3 years. They were too embarrassed for friends around etc. I work full time but with the help and support I received my children niw smile which makes me feel good as a single parent father. I can't thank this charity enough as they have changed 5 lives for the better

Overseas branch is being allowed to treat non members, committee members and members appallingly. Narcissistic behaviour. Bullying.
I raised concerns with the U.K. team weeks ago expecting a fair review. Instead of looking at said branch I have been told to join a call with the main protagonist. This is yet another organisation focused on money. Allowing bullying. Others have spoken out. This organisation is focussed only on money while pretending to support veterans.

The Garden, the comfort, the hospitality, the event. Very Special. So many little add-ons and extra touches too, garden games, kiddy gift bags, buffet and cakes. Massive congrats and WELL DONE to so many of the staff and a fair few volunteers in hand to support too. Great Day and Night!!

DO NOT FUND THIS CHARITY IF THATS WHAT THEY EVEN CALL THEMSELVES.IM A RETIRED VETERAN AND AM HOMLESS AND THEY HAVENT OFFERED ME ONE BIT OF HELP.RANG AND MAILED THEM EVERYDAY FOR LAST 7 WEEKS AND KEEP GETTING TOLD SOMONE WILL CONTACT ME BACK.STILL NOTHING…LEST WE FORGET..EMBARRASSING FROM THEM

I was advised by the legion themselves that many of the clubs have now disassociated themselves from the actual legion branch. That is to say that none of the funds raised by the club go towards the legion. If you think when you buy a pint in a legion club some of the proceeds go towards the legion, you'll be wrong in MOST CASES. When I complained to the legion I was told that they turned a blind eye because they felt if the club closed the branch would close. What a despicable way of carrying on, its not British, not part of their code and certainly no what the public expect. After 25 years of collecting and being associated with them, I've turned my back on them now and support other veteran causes instead. If they respond here and say the profits from all clubs do go the legion they shall have disgraced themselves even further as liars.

The royal british legion, now keeping money that are getting dominated i asked for help from the past four days and I needed some food and I need some gas and electric. I have no family or my family has been deceased and i've reached out to the royal british region i'm the one who call me. He was very obnoxious, very disrespectful and did not care about my health and well being I even told him I will get a log book lone the royal British legion are not helping veterans no more. They aren't disgusting please do not donate to the royal British legion. More as they are keeping millions
All I want. It was a bit of food and some gas and electric to get me by till the 22nd of this month, I have a daughter who comes with me on the weekend. He was absolutely horrible on the phone to me.Made me feel even worse than i told them about my mental health. I exactly, and i've been diagnosed with some certain illnesses conditions and I told him this and he was not bothered, he was there very abrupt and absolutely careless, i've never felt so ashamed it made me feel like this how can you let somebody speak to somebody like he did when you don't even know my background, I. Tried to take my life not long ago and I feel so weak I'm tired. I am so exhausted.And I just don't know how to go on it was embarrassing for me to ask again for help to keep on begging. I thought nothing of it till he spoke to me and made me feel the way he did. I am so disappointed when you're sitting holding back. Your tears and you feel empty and hungry.And the all you need is a warm meal and I never, ever will, ever give money to the royal british legion again

The Royal British Legion tried to bully a gay man on social media for not wanting to be called the slur ‘qu**r’ and for objecting to the homophobic ‘Progress Pride’ flag, which carries with it the meaning that same-sex attraction does not exist. It’s an absolute slap in the face for lesbians, gay men and bisexuals who were previously expected to stay in the closet in the Army or face the consequences. As a lesbian, I also object to the slur ‘qu**r’. Just stick a swastika on your badges next time so everyone understands what you mean!

The Legion are a disgrace there are many veterans on the streets that need help from many reasons and the legion give money to a DIVERSESTE OFFICER Why ! that has NOTHING with the brave men and women who server their country.

Awful place, misogynistic and backwards drinking den. Lack of respect for new people and their community. Amazed that in this day and age legal drinking dens serving cheap booze are allowed. Puts the good work of the legion to shame. This is specific to the clubs, in particular edenbridge legion which is full of the rudest people you’ll ever meet and if you don’t fit in, they’ll let you know.

Had my friends hen party here last night the function room is absolutely perfect - all private facilities bar, toilets, stage, dance floor and kitchen area. Staff really accommodating and friendly and couldn’t do enough to help. If you’re looking for a local venue please give this place a go it’s lovely. Many thanks to staff !!!!! Lesley Russell

I purchased goods to the value of £44 from the on line poppy shop little did I release that they would be sent by Evri ,I have never received the items, and on phoning RBL got in touch with Evri excuse package to large to deliver, So I waited a week phoned RBL shop and asked for my money back, I am now told until Evri return the goods I won't get any refund, WARNING DO NO BUY FROM RBL ,I am also a service veteran, and was a member of the RBL until this happened, 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😠😠😠
