Bushwise professional field guide course is so much more than an average field guiding course. The trainers are real people with good hearts, a love for the bush, and a true passion for training the next class of field guides. They want you to succeed, but more importantly, they want you to grow not just as a guide but as a human. They challenge you, support you, and share their knowledge in a way that stays with you long after the course ends. The trainer pour themselves into the course and it is clear to see they love what they are doing here.

The campus quickly began to feel like home. From the ladies who cooked and cleaned for us to the guys who worked year-round to maintain the campus, everyone played a part in making Bushwise such a special place. The office staff became some of my favorite people. The kindness they showed me is something I will always carry with me.

The course itself was a dream. It asks you to jump in with both feet, step outside your comfort zone, make mistakes laugh it off then try again, and be willing to learn. Each day brings a new challenge, but you never face it alone. You have an entire community standing behind you, encouraging you and helping you become better.

I left Bushwise a better person, a better guide, and a better student because of this course. Anyone who wants to grow, explore, challenge themselves, or learn more about the bush must take a course with Bushwise. It was truly one of the best experiences of my life.

Amazing teaching, always compliant with our need, always there to spend extra time to answer our questions… The ethic of guiding is also very important there which is great.

I loved the experience so far, and thank you already for everything. Starting with the food and laundry service, which are exceptional for being in the bush (thanks ladies :). The bathroom facilities leave nothing to complain, or then its due to human factors.
There is a lot to learn, and a lot is left for self-study, with which some may struggle. It could have been drilled a bit more into the students heads to do their own research from the beginning onwards. On this behalf, the wifi should be improved as one of the first things, since doing research needs some good internet connection.
Furthermore, more demo drives in the beginning, where the instructors talk through a proper game-drive, would have been good instead of being thrown into the cold water.
The administrational communication was a bit chaotic / not clear, with some students having different bird calls to learn from or having to see where they can get the specific powerpoints. This could improve / be more standardised to facilitate potential confusion.
But other than the wifi as the major improvement point, it has been great so far and the instructors are doing a great job. It is truly interesting to see the differences in ways of guiding and seeing everyone improve their skills.

Bushwise has been nothing but professional and courteous. The staff have been extremely supportive and helpful throughout the whole process. The campus is clean and tidy along with the chef making amazing food. I would 100% recommend Bushwise to anyone looking for a future career in wildlife

I’m currently doing the PGM Course, and I couldn’t be more impressed by the experience and professionalism of the trainers.
The experience of living on campus with people in a similar field and mindset is also incredible.

I’ve nearly finished my first month of Bushwise, and all I can say is how amazing it has been. Working as a field guide in the bush is a huge passion of mine, and Bushwise has made this passion a reality for me. The trainers here are wonderful, and their enthusiasm and detail towards teaching us everything really shines through. I would recommend any day to anyone wanting to be a field guide that coming to Bushwise is the best thing they could do!

Meeting like minded students, trainers and a comunnity that carry the same feelings and passion towards nature and giving back, has really opened my eyes.

The course material and training is very good and the mixture between class and practical is perfect. The trainers are very professional and the staff are very friendly and kind.

Living conditions and showers is great and the food and variety of meals is excellent.

I Would maybe like more snacks and fruits through the day and different flavoured drinks with meal times. And the other thing that I feel can be improved on in the course, is the communication and timeliness on the planning and duties for the upcoming week especially weekends, so that students can plan when to go to town or know more or less how much to stock up on if they know there will only be limited free time and shops being closed. But I feel one month from now all students will probably have fallen into a rhythm and everything will run smoother and everyone being more prepared.

I have allready recommended Bushwise to some friends who also share the same passions and are keen on doing career changes to an oppertunity like only Bushwise can provide.

High standard study material is relevant to the coursesand the practical part is usefull in real life senarios. Includes amazing experiences/animal sightings . All trainers/staff are kind,professional, patient and supportive.food and lifving environment is of high quallity/standard .

Month 1 - It has been an amazing experience so far with 1/6-months coming to an end. There’s a lot of time spent studying theory to form a foundation but it’s super rewarding. Jason and Simone are excellent instructors! Helpful, funny, the right bit of crazy, and they really know how to get you to think for yourself. The camaraderie around campus is infectious. Going from strangers to good friends is something I haven’t experienced anywhere else! For anyone who’s interested in field guiding, game management amongst the other options, I would seriously recommend Bushwise.

This has been an amazing learning experience already and there is so much more left to learn and do. All the staff at Bushwise and Sabi Sabi have been brilliant, so supportive and helpful. My mentors/trainers, Jason and Simone, are so incredibly good at what they do and I have learnt so much already from them. They have also been very welcoming and supportive at campus, as this is a completely new experience for me, as I am an international student.

First week was really amazing with getting to know each other. The trainers are really great to be honest and I have totally fell in love with the Sabi Sabi campus, the food here is really amazing and we have a great cook here. Our trainers are also our parental figures and they have showed us so much love. I have no doubt to where I want to be in future and what I want to spend the rest of my life doing.

I don’t even know where to start. I have been on the course for two weeks now and it changed my life. I would 100% recommend it to anyone and everyone. The people you meet, wildlife, the trainers… I wouldn’t change a thing! Definitely great value for your money.

Bushwise sets an incredible industry standard. My experience thus far (first 2 weeks) has been nothing shy of fantastic. The catering and campus location are incredible. The academic level and trainer imput really sets bushwise aside.

Simone and Jason are very experienced and knowledgeable about the industry, the nature and what to expect ! They have taught me a lot the past two weeks and definitely challenged the way I think and the way I look at the industry and nature in a good way. I have learned to appreciate the smaller things and to be curious about things I haven’t thought about before. I have also learned to enjoy everything and just to be in the moment.
