Do you fancy wasting your time trying to get an adult trike? No instruction manual, delivered with half the components missing? How about no front bike cable? Two crushed wheels because it was delivered with all the grace of a cow making an omelette? You are thinking you can just email them right? No chance friend, they might reply, they might just then randomly ghost you when they get bored and have your money. All in all, not a great experience and while the other options in the market are more expensive they actually understand the concept of customer service.

When my balance had deteriorated through old age so that cycling on two wheels was dangerous, I looked for a reasonably priced tricycle with electrical assistance. Buytricycle seemed to fit my needs, so I ordered one.
Their web site only mentions well down in the specifications that it requires assembly. It also says that tools and instructions are included, but the instructions start by warning that professional assembly is recommended unless you have suitable experience. If this were mentioned before delivery, it could be delivered to the cycle shop directly. It is also recommended that a cycle stand is used. I do not see how assembly can be done without suitable support. I was able to clamp the frame in a Workmate bench.
The tool kit includes a flat steel multispanner and a small folding tool that includes the small spanners and Allen keys. I would not dream of attempting assembly without proper tools, so that nuts and bolts can be tightened to the correct degree.
The instructions sometimes assume some prior knowledge, and in some places are unclear, so that some trial and experimenting is needed. The whole assembly took me about seven hours.
I found the trike easy to ride, but the gearing is much too low. It is probably fine for a pedals-only trike, but even with just stage one assistance I am unable to keep up with the pedals beyond 10 – 11 mph, and rarely change out of 6th (top) gear. When climbing a hill, I just increase the amount of assistance. A 50% larger chain wheel would allow a higher top speed, even though it would probably require the chain guard to be sacrificed.
It is essential to practise riding in a safe, open area, as you have to learn to break the link, learned on two wheels, between steering and balance. On a sloping part of my driveway I automatically steered into a flower border! I always ride well away from the kerb, as clipping the kerb, or dropping into a deep drain, could flip me right off the trike. However, I now enjoy getting some exercise without the danger of falling off two wheels.

Very quick delivery of a very good quality product, assembly was a little tricky but I have no experience, I used the booklet provided and managed to get a working tricycle out of it! haha! I cycled it to a loacal bike store for a check over and after a few adjustments which I couldn't do the tricycle was perfect! Everywere I go I get asked about it.

Can't fault buytricycle at all, ordered and delivered in the space of 1 day, tricycle came with a booklet of instructions for assembly, which if followed you should be able to successfully complete the buiild.The tricycle itself is very good quality and cycles with ease. highly recommend both Buy Tricycle and the Scout tricycle

What a fantastic electric tricycle, I could not be more delighted with my purchase! This tricycle is fast, reliable and surprisingly affordable. The battery life is also remarkable. I can easily get 25-30 miles of riding on a single charge, a fancy digital dispaly for battery level and Speed. Overall, I'm beyond pleased with my electric tricycle; it's proven to be quite the worthy investment and brings me joy every time I ride.

If you need any spare parts for tricycles then contact these guys and they will help you, I searched all of the intnert for part I needed and coudn't find and these guys found it for me, so happy I am back on the road!

Difficulties arose from the moment I requested the trike be returned. Carriage is expensive and packing complicated; the customer pays several hundred pounds. When the trike arrived at Yorvik it was claimed that it had arrived damaged and 10% was taken off the refund I was to Receive. There was a dispute between the company that returned the trike and Yorvik, It took ages to get Yorvik to notify me that the trike had arrived. There ensued a two month tussle between Yorvik and Klarna about who had the money I was owed (although I had conceded the lower price to avoid a protracted struggle). Eventually I consulted the Consumer association's lawyer and,

wonder of wonders, they paid up! My advice is to try out the trike before you descend into the abyss that is their post-sales 'service'....

Yeah, my tricycle was delivered yesterday. The quality of the cycle is A1. I just love its 6 Speed Shimano gears. Highly recommended for adults.

ordered e trike on 21/01/2023 it did not arrive within the stated time scale,3 to 4 days.and has not arrived yet 27/01/2023. phoned twice answer phone.E mailed three times no answer. i will have to involve the law if i do not get a response soon. pity the probuct looks good.pity they do not relise good service relys on comunication

I ordered a tricycle on 11th October with the understanding, as stated on their web site, that it would be 1 - 2 days delivery. Twice I have telephoned the company to be told lies. I know Parcelforce have strike action but so do everyone else and being a business, if you care about your customers, you would make alternate arrangements for couriers. Itried cintacting them through 'chat' on their web site but no one bothered. I then sent a message through their web site and 'surprise surprise' no one bothered.

The lastest I was told that my tricycle would be with me definitely on Saturday. No tracking information then at 11:30 on Saturday the day they were supposed to definitely deliver I checked to find that it has only just been picked up. That is four days after order so their 1 - 2 days delivery rubbish is just that.

I have given three stars but I can see that changing in a downward direction.

Not impressed!

I would love to give a good review-BUT i have only had bad experiences with this company, I am a disabled lady with a limited life expectancy and bought the electric assist tricycle so i could enjoy my end of life outdoors with my husband, FIRSTLY it took nearly 6 weeks to arrive, which after countless "fob offs" from the company came with a spare basket and bar mirror to "make up for the delay" fair enough.. Then after only 2 short rides out on said tricycle (no more than 8 or so miles on a flat surface) the axel/bearings broke leaving me stranded on a cycle path (i have heart and lung issues and cant walk very far) After numerous phone calls/email to the company to let them know, we again got "fobbed off" saying they would send the parts to fix the problem and £100 to compensate (said would send in next post) STILL WAITING 10 days later for parts and £100! i am so distressed as i dont know how long i can wait as health isnt going to get better..

surprise surprise-afternoon after this was published by trustpilot we received a *second hand part for the axel* and bearings BUT still NO refund of money they promised (£100) it is going to cost us this money to pay for proper repair shop to fix...so all in all it has cost just under a £1000 for a faulty tricycle ! Stay away from this company (buytricycle -adult tricycles)

Due to the lockdown etc that was going on I wish to thank the tricycle company for keeping in touch and working hard to get the order on time I can’t thank them enough and my special needs daughter was also very excited and wished to thank tricycle also .I would use this company with confidence.Thanks again

My first comment is don’t try and build it yourself unless you have a lot of experience! BUT when it is built it is one of the most beautiful pieces of engineering you will ever see. It looks and feels like riding a small chariot and there’s something very special and reassuring about the stability and safety it gives you on roads. I had a question about the folding mechanism which was quickly and easily fixed by contacting the seller. Great price and great service. People can’t believe it was so cheap to buy and it looks like it costs hundreds of pounds more. Get a bike shop to build it - it’s worth the extra money and you will still save hundreds in other retailers prices. HIGHLY recommended.
