Byway Avis 

We took our first short trip with Byways last week and found them very helpful and supportive, especially when Eurostar cancelled our outward train with less than 24 hours notice! We were rebooked and on our way on the right day, but I don't trust Eurostar as much now. The Byways hotel suggestion of Boutique Hotel Cezanne for our 4 night stay in Aix-en-Provence was super and we had a lovely stay there. We really appreciated Abby's Zoom session on how to use our Interrail pass. I still found the Interrail system over complicated - but we managed! Despite the wobbly start we really enjoyed our train journeys and found them far more relaxing than flying. We thought we would give this way of travelling a go and I'm glad we did, with Byways support.

Just back from a great bespoke 17 night trip through France to Spain. Byway is so helpful, supportive and flexible. We arranged our own accommodation with a family for a week whilst learning Spanish. When we thought we weren't going to make connections due to a delayed train they came back to us very promptly with an attractive alternative route - sadly we didn't need it!

As a first-time Byway customer I found the people who work there very easy to deal with and supportive. We found a holiday on their website and used that as a basis to add in extra days and change the hotels. We had a great time with an itinerary that I would never have come up with if sorting it out ourselves - for example, use of overnight ferries. We have interrailed before and booked our own accommodation but I think using Byway made it a whole lot easier and more cost-effective.

Byway gave me professional and helpful service from start to finish. They promptly answered my every query and adjusted everything to suit my needs. I highly recommend Byway.

First time of using as we wanted planning, back up and support after previous experiences of failed connections in the past across Europe. It was everything we wanted from prompt answers to questions and suggestions where we needed them.

Just returned from our third Byway trip, two weeks in Switzerland, Italy and Austria. As per previous experiences everything was extremely well organised with well located, good hotels. Everything ran to schedule, though one of our travel days coincided with an Italian rail strike - Byway support quickly organised back-up trains from the guaranteed list but happily the original service ran as scheduled. Thoroughly recommend Byway based on organisation, communication, and support.

The company are totally professional and take the strain out of preparing a holiday. Quick to sort out any wrinkles and extremely friendly. First time we have used them on a suggested trip by train to Bergen. All the connections worked and the hotel suggestions were well thought out. We are seniors and with the exception of one journey from Hamburg to Osnabruck when the platform was changed we were never rushed. Brilliant and will use them again

Byways made our recent holiday so easy. They did all the booking, Eurostar, Interrail tickets and hotels. Sent clear arrival and departure details. The choice of hotels was excellent.
We are already thinking about our next Byway holiday. Perfect way to see Europe without having to fly.

I can't recommend Byway highly enough, from my i initial enquiry to arriving back home home last night my experience was beyond my expectations. From great train journeys and accommodation to the instructions and recommendations I have had a fabulous trip and will certainly be travelling with them in the future.

Byways were amazing from planning to preparing a schedule for our trip & the support during our trip. They suggested stopping places along the way & booked us into really good hotels. We had 2 delayed trains & missed one of our connections & they sorted a reservation on another train straight away & contacted our hotel to say we’d be arriving later. They’re the best travel team I’ve dealt with & would highly recommend if you want to plan a stress free rail holiday.

Using Byway was a great experience. Everything about it was just convenient and took all the stress out of booking. The prices were very reasonable and I couldn't have found better accommodation myself. I'd highly recommend anyone who wants to avoid planes or see a few different cities using them.

This was our third trip with Byway and everything went just as well as previous two holidays. This time it was a trip to Switzerland. It’s great to have everything planned and sorted, and the hotels they have organised so far have been great (there’s a good choice for a range of budgets and preferences). We particularly appreciate the WhatsApp feature while we’re away - we know we have a rapid response service for anything that might arise. We have also done self directed Interrail trips but Byway do take the load off and make the process so much easier. They are very helpful in the planning stage as well as once it’s booked. We love the tailored journey guides they create to give you info on each place you’re staying; definitely worth reading. We’ll be using them again.

Our first all rail adventure to Budapest. The company organised the whole trip including great hotels. They were there when we needed their 24/7 support and put us back on track( sorry couldn’t resist)! Supplied plenty of pre trip info with useful website info and instruction. Highly recommended company for a stress free all rail adventure.

It's only when something goes wrong that you truly discover how good the service provided by any organisation actually is. Byway were fantastic when an Italian rail strike stranded us in Monza. Sorted it out quickly and we were able to get on our way. The organisation and instructions provided were all excellent.

From booking our trip to actually travelling, Byway made it so easy. We didn’t encounter any issues with the passes, or the trains, or the hotels, but we were reassured that they were on hand if needed via WhatsApp. We had a fabulous trip and wouldn’t hesitate to use Byway again.

Just returned from our second Byway holiday, this time to Amsterdam, Hamburg and Copenhagen. This company really understands how to remove the hassle from organising rail travel in Europe and the hotel accommodation they recommend is excellent in our experience. Customised itineraries are no problem and all arrangements are made efficiently with excellent information provided for all steps in the journey. A first class service in every respect.
