It's like playing russian roulette, you don't know if you are actually going to get the advertised deal until far after you buy it. You rarely get the deal. This should actually be illegal

No way to talk to anyone to fix a problem. No thanks After reading the rest of the reviews, I'll stick with Amazon.
Awful customer service
Awful customer service. They terminated my account for no real reason because I clicked the activate button several times. When I reached out, they had no phone number, and over email took a week to respond and only cited their terms of service for reasoning, refusing to give any more detail.
I had a miserable experience with this…
I had a miserable experience with this rewards program and deem it exceedingly unfriendly and not worthy of my or your time and effort.
Firstly: you are giving this company immense amounts of shopping and private data!
Secondly: MOST of, if not ALL, of my incentives I received with my daily 4-6 emails was bogus! The reward terms were not as advertised, the offer was from a "company" that was not reliable, or was an outright ebay offer. Yes. Ebay. The company that is rife with fraud and fake products.
Thirdly: the "gift cards" available to get your rewards changed drastically over time. Only THREE out of all of their card offers were for companies I had any interest in at all.. and TWO of them were removed after I had used them one time!
fourth: I had an extremely difficult time even getting those rewards (as the system is confusing and buggy!). I finally left a little under $10 in the account and simply deleted it completely. Mostly because my purchases were emailing back as canceled without explanation. Even though I had the balance and also met the minimum purchase requirements!
The last, and most damning of the issues I encountered: most, if not all, of my reward "trips" went without any payment from the vendor at all. Ever. Support was useless in getting any resolution. Always felt like I was being cheated, to be frank.
Ultimately: I found NO value in the time it took to peruse the site to activate a reward for a purchase I had planned to make... that ultimately paid me no reward (for whatever reason). This happened so often that when I did receive a reward it was no compensation for the time I spent trying.
The sheer number of "offers" that I received in email and on my phone was sickening! If even 10% of them would be something I would be interested in or from a reputable company: I would maybe consider it as an advantage. Not once did I ever consider this an advantage and of the thousands of emails I purchased ZERO offers. Bogus, and useless offers were that often.
Our shopping data is far more valuable than this experience provides as a benefit. Period. There is no grey area here. I spend a great deal of money online. I received nothing but aggravation, wasted time, false claims and offers, empty promises, and was infuriated by the total experience for over a year for pennies in return.
Cap one shopping USED to be good
Cap one shopping USED to be good. Now it takes forever to get the credit for your purchases AND recently they gave me the wrong code...one that does not work, even though they deducted the points from my account. NO ONE will return my emails and there is no other way to contact them. A good idea gone bad.
Useless and uncaring customer service
Robots for customer service. My account was accessed without permission, I am still unsure how. The hacker stole over $500 in rewards and Capital One Shopping's only response was to change my password. They are unwilling to offer any help at all. I told them they arent even following their own terms and conditions per their site. One states "h. Good Standing. To redeem Shopping Rewards, your User Account must be in good standing, which means the account status may not be terminated, suspended, or otherwise in default, your Account profile must remain up-to-date, and your email address and phone number must satisfy our verification methods." There is no phone number on my account web page. There is no where to add one. They have no type of secondary verification system (code texted to a phone number) in order to prevent fraud. Their site also states "d. Redemption. In order to be eligible to redeem Shopping Rewards, (1) your Account must be in good standing, as defined in Section 9(h) below; (2) you must have accumulated a minimum balance of $1.00 worth of Shopping Rewards; and (3) you must be able to satisfy any verification or fraud prevention requirements used by Capital One Shopping, which include providing us with a working phone number that is not associated with any other Capital One Shopping account. If you have satisfied these requirements, you may redeem Shopping Rewards provided"
Additionally, half the time when you purchase through one of their offers, you do not receive the cash back and have to jump through hoops to get them to accommodate and actually give you the rewards owed. Its a huge hassle and you have to really stay on top of anything you try to earn.
In all, I absolutely would NOT recommend CapitalOne Shopping. They have been absolutely no help with zero remorse that I have been hacked and didnt order the gift cards/rewards and only keep telling me to change my password. They do not have the customers best interest in mind. The only way to contact them is through one generic email that may take several days to get a response. You absolutely cant get anyone on the phone, even in a urgent time sensitive case like your account has been hacked.
Rewards options are minimal to…
Rewards options are minimal to ridiculous. Nohting I am interested in. Also, takes way too long for rewards to appear in the account.
Total scam!
Total scam!. How is this not illegal? They promise all kinds of discounts and rewards and you never get any of it. Like others have mentioned I even have screen shots proving I used their extension, it shows the discount or rewards I'll receive and then absolutely nothing. Unbelieveable!
Reward option of little value
When I added the Capital One Shopping extension, the savings / rewards seem generous. However, when trying to use the rewards, I found there are not any options which have much value to me. As a result the "rewards" are not really rewards. They need to have Amazon, Walmart, or Visa/Mastercard as reward options.
Used to be good
Used to be good, but the rewards offerings are terrible now. They cut down the vendors you could use for gift cards like 75%. No useful ones now. Will be using other extensions.
Not worth it - terrible reward options
I've been using this for a while. For the most part, all of the codes that I have used, I've found on my own. The app searching very rarely results in a lower price. The worst part was when I went to redeem my reward points, the reward choices are terrible. Limited selection of gift cards, nothing at all that I use. Won't continue using the app.
e-gift certificates don't work
e-gift certificates both in store and on line say invalid info entered, even though I checked it over several times. I called 800# and she was rude telling me I can only check one e gift card balance and that I need to go into store for the rest. They told me instore it didn't work and I should call 800#. It's an unending cycle.
This was for tjx e giftcards from capitalone shopping.
It is impossible to redeem your dollars…
It is impossible to redeem your dollars they show on you account. Huge waste of time to even try to do so. I deleted my account and removed their extension on my computer. I was simply trying to purchase a $25 gift card with my $42 balance. I had numerous emails with Francis. They gave me the runaround and wanted me to set up another account. In the end you will find out the savings they claim is just funny money. In the end I asked for them to cancel my account and move my savings to my Capital One account with no response. I can't understand why a reputable company like Capital One allows them to use their name. Wish I had checked their reviews before I wasted so much time.
Duped twice!!!
Sent an email to lure me to buy, complete and tell me it could take 30 days-60 days. Complained I only bought based on 30% they were giving so return window would be closed. Then told me I was not eligible. Knowing this was the second time I took a picture of the site and their confirming activation of the discount. Finally acquiesced and gave me the money. Pulled the same thing on me in February with booking through Expedia for European vacay! Another 30% offer and NOT A DIME! No wonder they are always under investigation by the Fed!
Use extreme caution when using or…
Use extreme caution when using or applying to use this extension. I received notice of termination of TOS and fraud or abuse. They are fraudulently accusing me of this and slander or defamation. I am technically challenged and I’ll be the first to admit it. They kept sending me offers to download this extension on my PC, I don’t have a PC I only use my phone. When I kept getting the offers I kept trying to do it. Never once did they tell me by message that I already had it. Never once have they told me how I fraudulently or abusively violated their TOS. I have notified the supervisor that once again fraudulently accused me of this to think about it before they did it again. Be careful with this app.
Stay away
Stay away! They promise you rewards that are never paid because, in my case, they just "terminated" my account. Sure, you use them for shopping (in my case several hotel stays) and then they don't want to give you the promised money. They just want to get all the info from you: see their Privacy Policy. If I were to say they are frod$ters they'd sue me. But please, somebody else describe what they do. Reddit is full of complaints.

Scammed, stay away
They have very poor miserable customer service. They offer false rewards. I book a night at Best Western, supposed to get 20% back rewards, however it's showing rewards status ineligible. Contacted capital one customer service and representative named Francis very rude ,unhelpful, just sent me away. Capital one shopping is total scam . They trucking your internet transactions, probably selling customers data.
They push some Scam companies on you…
They push some Solar companies on you if you look at your electric bill. Ampion, Arcadia and Perch. They advertise cash and savings, but if you look at these 3 companies they have horrible BBB and other ratings and screw us elderly out of $100's if not $1,000's while we try to cancel the fraudulent contracts. Then there are the Ticket agencies! Advertising tickets that aren't even available yet, and for outrageous costs. And if you do try to get tickets through them you hold your breath waiting, and sometimes never even get them for the events. Look at the reviews for those companies too... Capital One Shopping is just helping all of them screw us and getting paid by them themselves. Such a scam!
a complete scam
A complete scam. They lure you with emails to buy from certain retailers offering discounts/cash back and they never materialize. Everything Capital One is a scam.
Capital One Shopping was great at first…
Capital One Shopping was great at first (more than a couple of years in the past). Now they don't give the percentage back they promise. Sometimes they don't give any percentage back at all although they promise to do so. They offer only a few different gift cards ... many of them are of NO interest whatsoever to me. However, in the DISTANT past, they did offer Walmart gift cards and the card code actually worked. Now, I just don't even bother with them anymore.
