Care Move removals and storage Avis 

From when they arrived on Friday morning until when they left us on Friday afternoon, I cannot fault them for their manners, work ethic, enthusiasm and all round friendliness when faced with moving our house from Hall Green to Cornwall. They are a credit to yourselves and to the company

When looking for a company to relocate, we wanted a local company. Our initial contact was with Bernadette, who I have to say was so helpful, knowledgeable and informative, pointing out things we had not thought of. Our quote was competitive and everything we asked for was delivered on time and efficiently. The team arrived at the time they said they would, they were very polite and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I would say they definitely went above and beyond what was expected. They also made the move happen very quickly. Thank you so much to Bernadette, Jay and the team for making the move look effortless and without a headache. I cant recommend the Care Move enough.

Steer clear of this company. My experience with them was not good. The staff were tired after a long day the day before. After clearing the garden shed, with muddy boots on, one member walked over my lounge carpet that had been shampood for the new occupiers. I had been told that person concerned was unhappy and had an argument with the manager that morning about his workload. Unfortunately, I was the customer who suffered.
The van was loaded with little respect for my belongings, crammed, disorganised and untidy. I had damage (a large hole) to a bed headboard that I was only offered £25 pounds for. The female owner was rude, abrupt, very argumentative, and totally unprofessional about resolving the situation, stating the insurance was only for transporting the goods in transit.... Also I have never found a garden spike machine that should have been loaded... I will say the receptionist, 2 of the 3 removal staff were polite and good lads and I hope this review does not reflect on them personally. But the so called "team leader"? Paul, and owner are a poor reflection of what customers should expect from a so called professional removal company.

We split the move into two sections across two days. The first day went well, sadly the second day did not go well at all. Lorry arrived an hour and 20 minutes late which was critical in that we had to get out by lunchtime. They didn’t send a large enough team of Removals men, resulting in a disgruntled team who had to work very late and he rather rushed in the last section. I had labelled one box fragile do not put anything on this box, so was not happy when I found it under four other boxes with some broken glass inside. Our possessions were rather shuvved into the storage unit with an expensive bed head next to a dirty garden pot. The removals team who attended worked hard but they were not supported by their management. I found the chief exec rather abrupt and blunt in her manner. She had no time to hear my concerns.

What a fantastic service we received from Phil & the two Pauls! Despite a miscommunication from head office and other unforseen obstacles, the team on the day went above and beyond to get us moved in within the expected time frame. Even shared some of their pizza with us on their break!

Great service from caremove …Phil and the lads were fast and efficient and we were moved in no time . First move with nothing broken so that’s to their credit too! Appreciated good comms from Bernadette and the team. Would definitely recommend.

We had this removal Company in July 2021 and they have still not responded to our satisfaction, after the case was sent to their soliciter and everyone is dragging their heels in the hope this goes away, but it wont, all we want is for them to rectify the complete mess they made in our garage my partner has MS and i have Cancer and they dont give a damm, stating we fabricated the mess. Makes me think are they a real soliciters or is this been fabricated by Bernadete.

We said we would rectify this review once it was completed to our satisfaction, but no they have ignored us. I would never recommend Care Move to anyone and please if Bernadette comes round be prepared and take note there is no CUSTOMER CARE AFTERCARE

Excellent service.
I have just moved home on the 23/08/21 and was very stressed about the whole move. Care home took care of everything on the day and was very fast and professional. Lovely bunch of lads came to movie us and nothing was too much bother for them. Highly recommend

Edit.... they tipped before viewing what they had done to the house,seemed like the worked hard, soon as they saw the mess they contacted Bernadette ( the receptionist with said stick up her backside) baring in mind it would take my dad a while

But she denied any issue with what they left
Fingers crossed local news paper replies to me because that would be lovely press for you 😂 might not do “ fbook” but the power of it will leave you a bad review for as many days as it takes for you to admit fault 🙃
My dad used this joke of a company having MS and partner with cancer to complete the entire move, they left the broken boxes in places and lied saying they had fabricated the mess they left, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
The joke of a receptionist that clearly needs to remove a stick out of her back side wouldn’t accept any kind of liability even with cold hard evidence of their faults
No offer of a refund or to come back snd sort it
They haven’t responded to any Facebook reviews
And as you can see they like to argue on here with any negative feedback
Hope you’re satisfied taking advantage of a disabled man and his sick partner

What a wonderful set of lads. Couldn't recommend care move enough. Turned up early, we have sold oak furniture and they worked up a sweat. Nothing to much trouble. Fed them all bacon and egg sarnies. There manners are a credit to the company. Will use you again

The team that came to pack two days before the move and the team on moving day were both outstanding. They were efficient, thoughtful and polite - a credit to your business.
The move was much less stressful than it could have been which is down to the caring and professional service provided. Please pass on my thanks to the whole team involved.

We used care move to help us move and they also supplied us with boxes and the relevant bits to help us move. Had no issues whatsoever and would use again when necessary.

Following an efficient review of what needed to be moved we received a very comprehensive and competitive quote. Two weeks before the move date our boxes and wrapping paper were delivered.
I would like to add my thanks and compliments to the team who moved us out of our house into storage. They were professional and approachable with no request being too much trouble. Totally appreciated as they made what can be a very stressful day run extremely smoothly.

The following review was written by my mum who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease last year. The whole family was left upset by this experience.

I recently used Care Move to move from Sutton Coldfield to Solihull. Whilst the team of people and administrative personnel proved very polite, professional and helpful, the same cannot be said for the owner of the company Bernadette Dale. The initial contact I had with Bernadette was amicable enough; however, whilst trying to resolve an issue arising from an additional payment that had not been clearly explained to me, Bernadette’s attitude changed and she became abusive, rude and unprofessional, using inappropriate language at times, not what I would have expected from a person who owns and runs a successful removals company. When I pursued further explanation with Bernadette and offered constructive feedback about my overall experience, she became very defensive and dismissive of my comments. As a result, I would not recommend using Care Move.

Update: just to clarify - there was only one review and this was it. There was no “second review” or attempt (or desire) to liaise further so the below reply makes no sense whatsoever, factually, grammatically or otherwise.

Care Move moved me from Solihull to Cheadle on the 16th April 2021. My search for a removal comany about 6/8 weeks before actually moving. Most enquiries were answered with an online form with drop down boxes, room by room with typical items. If you had things not in these boxes you had to manually enter details of sizes and weights. The whole thing was time consuming and the small print warned that if things were missed, charges would be added on the day of the move and they would add extra charges of any time delays.
Care Move took a completely different approach, Bernadette visited the house complete with covert19 mask and visor, walked round the house, assessed what was to be moved, offered a written quotation there and then. Two weeks prior to the proposed move they delivered 45 cardboard boxes, wrapping paper, tape and labels. After a false start with the my buyer backing out, new dates were proposed, the move was back on.
The new date was moved back twice, a week at a time. No money changed hands until the day before the move when we were advised that our driver would be Philip and they would arrive at 8.30 next morning.
Philip with helper Paul on the morning of the move arrived at 8.15. Extremely polite and professional, and after a quick tour of the house worked quietly and quickly, working none stop till about 10.30. When all was loaded we were asked to tour the house to see if anything had been missed. Off they went leaving their mobil phone number.
At 12.30 they called to say they were outside my new bungalow.
The afternoon was extremely fretful with three solicitors trying to track the money transfers between them, each saying "we have transferred it", "we haven't received it" over and over again.
It wasn't till after 4.00pm that they were all happy that the money was all in the right place that they agreed that keys could be released, by which time the drivers hours could easily have been exceeded. Whilst our keys were being collected Philip was busy unloading our bits by the front door. All was in the bungalow by about 5.15 allowing them to get back within their hours. Everything was placed in its allotted place, nothing broken nothing damaged.
I have absolutely no hesitation to recommend this Company for professionalism of Bernadette, Philip and Paul. A great team. Well done

We moved last weekend using Care Move again after using them for our last move 7 years ago. The same experience was found: speedy, on time, efficient, polite, funny, helpful and the strongest crew we have ever seen. Bernadette and Lorraine were absolutely fabulous with arranging our date and being flexible even on a Friday and arranging boxes, we needed more. Amazing local service. A big huge thank you to all. Would not hesitate to recommend them.

I moved house two weeks ago. I used Care Move to move out of my old house, into storage and then into my new house. Great company to use in my experience. I have now used them twice. Bernadette (Bernie) was very informative , polite and helpful when making first enquiries and was efficient in sending out information, packing materials, sorting out storage etc. Lorraine was also very helpful whenever I called the office for one reason or another.
The lads who moved my belongings were fantastic. They were efficient, careful, polite, they made me laugh and were very strong! I had the same team of lads moving into and out of storage. Based on my experience, I can’t recommend using removals enough. Without this team, my move would have been so stressful. Thanks guys 😊

The team of four did a decent job of moving house, but one of the dining chairs was irreparably damaged during the move. It only cost £45, and I put in a claim with Bernadette, who seemed to take delight in asking why I hadn't read a sub-sub-sub clause in the contract, advising that though insurance to £25,000 was included, there was a limit of £25 per item. This seemed bizarre, but there it was.
When I referenced making a review on this site, Bernadette upped the sum to £35, and said she'd take £2.50 off each of the four removal guys. To me, this seemed bizarre again. In the end she paid me £40, which is fine, but you should be warned that I don't know what happens when your £3,000 dining table is damaged. A £25 limit on the claim won't be much use then.

Edit: Bernadette initially offered me the £25 stated in the (very) small print of the contract, and then said she'd increase it to £35, with the extra £10 coming from the 4-man moving team. Be that as it may, I was effectively compensated in the end, but my warning is to other customers to read the small print & be aware of the £25 maximum claim per item.
