IMPORTANT: I am NOT CedarAndTin Co (cedarandtinco.com), the company selling garden products. My business, Cedar and Tin (cedarandtin.com), is a completely separate Etsy gift shop. I have NO affiliation with that company. Hi, I'm Lisa, the owner and designer behind Cedar and Tin, a small, independently owned Etsy shop based in Prosper, Texas. I started my business from the ground up in 2014, creating personalized gifts and keepsakes. Over the years, my shop has grown to nearly 100,000 Etsy sales and approximately 16,000 five-star reviews. I sell exclusively through Etsy, and cedarandtin.com redirects directly to my Etsy storefront. Unfortunately, customers of a different company with a very similar name have been leaving reviews on my Trustpilot profile. I have never sold the birdhouses, birdbaths, rain drums, or other garden products mentioned in those reviews. I understand how upsetting a disappointing purchase can be, and I genuinely sympathize with those affected. However, these reviews do not describe products or purchases from my business. I'm currently working to resolve this confusion and protect the reputation I've spent more than a decade building. Thank you for taking the time to understand the difference between these two businesses. Lisa Owner of Cedar and Tin on Etsy

Noticed that the return address is…Hong Kong not rural Somerset

Noticed that the return address is China when goods are hand made in somerset. AI search confirms that is all a scam. Asked for a refund within hours of purchase but told I need to return the item to Hong Kong at my expense.

Hi David,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. I can certainly understand your frustration, especially when you requested a refund within hours of placing your order, only to be told you'd have to pay to return the item to Hong Kong. I can see why that would raise questions when you believed you were purchasing something handmade in Somerset.

I'm reaching out because I believe your review has ended up on the wrong business's Trustpilot page.

My name is Lisa, and I'm the sole owner of Cedar and Tin (cedarandtin.com), a small Etsy shop in Texas that I've operated since 2014. There's another company called Cedar and Tin Co (cedarandtinco.com), and despite our nearly identical names, I have absolutely no connection to that business.

I sell personalized gifts and keepsakes exclusively through Etsy, and my website redirects directly to my Etsy shop. Over the years, I've had nearly 100,000 sales and around 16,000 five-star reviews. I don't sell the garden products or other merchandise advertised by the company you're describing.

I've only recently discovered that customers of the other company have been leaving reviews on my Trustpilot profile, and I'm trying to straighten out the confusion.

I completely understand wanting to warn others about your experience. Unfortunately, these reviews are affecting my own small business and the reputation I've spent more than a decade building.

If your purchase was from cedarandtinco.com, would you consider removing this review from my Trustpilot page? I would truly appreciate it. I don't want to discourage you from sharing what happened, but I hope your warning can reach shoppers researching the company you actually purchased from.

Thank you for understanding, David. I hope you're able to get your refund sorted out.

and will no doubt operate under another colourful title as well along the way...
Their websites are done beautifully with great storylines and beautiful photos but when you look you can see it's all AI. There is no Betty or Nell living in some lovely rural part of England. It's all cheap and utter tack from China. Shame and more shame on them..
Heavenly God let us pray that these scheming, lying, repugnant filthy theives don't somehow, by complete default get run down by a juggernaut...

Hi Heather,

I'm so sorry to hear about your experience. I can understand how upsetting it would be to discover that the products and the story behind a company may not be what you were led to believe. It's especially frustrating when you've trusted the photos and descriptions enough to spend your hard-earned money.

I'm reaching out because I believe your review has ended up on the wrong business's Trustpilot page.

My name is Lisa, and I'm the sole owner of Cedar and Tin (cedarandtin.com), a small Etsy shop in Texas that I've been running since 2014. There's another company called Cedar and Tin Co (cedarandtinco.com), and despite our nearly identical names, I have absolutely no connection to that business.

I've only recently discovered that customers of this other company have been leaving reviews on my Trustpilot page. It's been incredibly upsetting to see the reputation I've spent more than a decade building affected by experiences with a business I've never had anything to do with.

I completely understand wanting to warn others, Heather, and I don't want to discourage you from sharing your experience. But if your purchase was from Cedar and Tin Co, would you please consider removing this review from my Trustpilot profile? Your warning would be much more helpful to shoppers if it appeared under the business you actually purchased from.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you're able to get your situation resolved.

Hi Ben,

First, I apologize for the delayed response. I've only recently discovered that reviews intended for another company have been appearing on my Trustpilot profile, and I'm doing my best to get this confusion straightened out.

I wanted to clarify that there are two completely separate businesses with very similar names.

My business is Cedar and Tin (cedarandtin.com), while the company advertising the products you're referring to is Cedar and Tin Co (cedarandtinco.com). I have absolutely no affiliation with that company.

My name is Lisa, and I'm the owner of Cedar and Tin, a small Etsy shop based in Texas. I started my business from the ground up in 2014, and it's still just me running it today. I sell personalized gifts and keepsakes exclusively through Etsy, and my domain simply redirects visitors to my shop. Over the years, I've built nearly 100,000 sales and approximately 16,000 five-star reviews.

I understand your concerns about misleading advertising and wanting to protect other shoppers. Unfortunately, these reviews are now being associated with my business, which I've spent more than a decade working to build.

I'm hoping to get this mix-up resolved, and if you would consider removing this review from my Trustpilot profile, I would be very grateful. I certainly wouldn't want your concerns to go unheard, but I hope they can reach the company you're referring to without affecting an unrelated small business.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for understanding.

Hand Made Cat Lamps That Are Not What They Seem

I came across an ad for a lovely lady called Gwen in Hebden Bridge who was ending her business making Moggy Lamps due to arthritis and that there were only a limited number left, exclusively available through cedarandtin. When I went on the website to get one of these supposedly hand made stained glass cat lamps it turned out that they are also made by Bonnie in Minnesota who is also retiring her business due to arthritis and Lorna in Australia. The descriptions and marketing blurb are interchangeable. My guess would be that these are mass produced, cheap items from China and the whole story is something that would have gone well on Jackanory. Identical lamps are available on eBay for half the price with no fairy story.

Hi Trevor,

First, I apologize for taking so long to respond. I've only recently discovered that reviews about another company have been appearing on my Trustpilot profile, and I've been trying to reach out to everyone affected.

I can understand why finding the same cat lamps advertised with different stories about who made them would raise some serious questions. When a product is presented as something lovingly handmade by a particular artisan, that story becomes part of the reason someone wants to purchase it. I appreciate that you took the time to look into those claims before spending your money.

Unfortunately, there's another important detail I hope you'll consider, because your review has ended up on the Trustpilot page of a completely unrelated business.

My name is Lisa, and I'm the sole owner of Cedar and Tin (cedarandtin.com), a small Texas-based Etsy shop I've been operating since 2014. The company advertising the cat lamps and other supposedly handmade garden products is Cedar and Tin Co (cedarandtinco.com). Despite the nearly identical names, I have absolutely no affiliation with that business.

I sell personalized gifts and keepsakes exclusively through Etsy, and my website redirects directly to my Etsy storefront. Over the years, I've built nearly 100,000 sales and approximately 16,000 five-star reviews. I've never sold the cat lamps or other products mentioned in these complaints.

I'm now dealing with a growing number of negative reviews intended for the other company, and it's been incredibly upsetting to see the reputation I've spent more than a decade building affected by purchases and advertising I had nothing to do with.

I completely understand your desire to share what you discovered so other shoppers can make informed decisions. I just hope you'll consider removing this review from my business's Trustpilot profile. Your concerns deserve to reach the people researching the company you're describing, rather than unintentionally harming another small business.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, Trevor. I really appreciate your understanding.

A scam

Steven S.'s review prompted me to double check. That review was entirely right. Phone number a US one but addresss a residential one in London. The prices were too good to be true for what was advertised as the last 400 or so hand-made items (stained glass type, cat-shaped bedside lamp, supposedly all painted and soldiered by hand) all made by a lovely old lady in her workshop above a canal in rural England. Don't buy!!

Hi Astrid,

First, I apologize for the delayed response. I've only just discovered that reviews about an entirely different company have been appearing on my Trustpilot page, and I'm trying to get this unfortunate situation straightened out.

BEWARE! This site is NOT the Chinese scam site!

Lisa, the owner of this company kindly responded to my and many other reviews to inform us that her business is not the same as the Chinese company using a very similar name. The coincidence is not just uncanny but a clear attempt to defame a genuine business.
I can only apologise to have been taken in by it and have removed my original review. I hope this one makes up for it and reminds people to check they are reviewing the correct company.
I appreciate Lisa’s attempt to right the wrongs her business is being subjected to. But beyond this, I’m not really sure how she can rid herself of her company name being used to scam many hundreds of customers. Might be worth discussing with Trustpilot because it can’t be a simple case of removing the scammers site on here as it would also remove the ability to warn customers of the fake site.
I wish Lisa good luck and thank her for informing me of the mixup.

Hi Steven,

First, I want to apologize for taking so long to respond. I've only just discovered that reviews intended for an entirely different company have been appearing on my Trustpilot profile. Until now, I had no idea this was happening, and I've been trying to reach out to everyone as quickly as I can.

I appreciate you taking the time to look into this company and share what you've found. It's concerning to see so many people reporting disappointing experiences, especially when they believed they were supporting a small business selling handmade products.

I wanted to clarify something important because there's been an unfortunate case of mistaken identity involving two businesses with nearly identical names.

My business is Cedar and Tin (cedarandtin.com), while the company advertising these garden products is Cedar and Tin Co (cedarandtinco.com). Despite the similar names, I have absolutely no affiliation with that company.

My name is Lisa, and I'm the owner of Cedar and Tin, a small Etsy shop based in Texas that I started from the ground up in 2014. It's just me running the business, creating personalized gifts and keepsakes. My domain simply redirects visitors to my Etsy shop, where I've built nearly 100,000 sales and approximately 16,000 five-star reviews over the years.

I've never sold rain drums, birdhouses, birdbaths, or any of the other garden products being mentioned in these reviews.

I completely understand your desire to warn others, and I certainly wouldn't want anyone to lose their hard-earned money. Unfortunately, the confusion between these two businesses has resulted in these warnings appearing under my business's Trustpilot profile, affecting a reputation I've spent more than a decade building.

I'm hoping to get this situation straightened out, and if you would consider removing this review from my business's profile, I would sincerely appreciate it. Your research may be helpful to other shoppers, and I hope it reaches the people looking into the company you're actually describing.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for looking out for other consumers.
