Further to the last response where there was no response from Chargepoint Ev, I thought I needed to add more.
I have sent numerous emails and had no further responses, rang 10 times in one day and 9 the next just to get someone to answer the phone. I have had the phone put down and as I had not received my money back in weeks, promised a date that went by and backheeling every concern faulting the other dept., I requested compensation. I was told that even though they had wasted 3 of my holidays with cancellations, must be 50 calls and frustration, promises not kept and waiting for MY money to come back to me which was still short of what I paid and still have not received a response or the difference, I am told no compensation as we did not have the charger installed. Of course I did not because you could not give me a charger in 3 attempts to have it installed to the point I went directly to the manufacturer and had it installed by them for less money and in one go, in less time. I was told that they had wavered the cancellation charges although I was told by them when I cancelled and asked that there were none as it was their fault they could not supply me a charger. Yes you can see it, they will not take responsibility. Even when you pay the money to them, they do not order and send out like EVEC did for it to be with me and wait for installer, they wait 1 week before installation if that, and fingers crossed the company has the stock. BUT they don't but it directly, they buy it from a 3rd party who buys it from the manufacturer, so they are making more profit that you are paying for the charger too. Afraid there is no minus number here, I cannot recommend avoiding this company any more than i can as they do not deserve to have business based on the entire companies unprofessional staff, lack of enough staff to cope for incoming calls and the lack of communication to the depts when refunds are due. The finance company only work so many days and some of those are working from home, no contact. Denial, blame culture and backheeling is all you will get from here. There response will be something about trying their best and finding some blame on me to get away from their inconsistencies with areal work ethic and process, and believe me their processes are not right to support the customer and even allow a smooth transition of a charger installation. If they cannot even stop staff from leaving and obtaining chargers when needed, don't expect an installation any time soon or that anyone or any charger will be available on the day you have just took off. Start saving your holidays up if you don't want to trust me, you will need them.
MY RESPONSE... I knew you would say you made every effort but that was not the case as I have proved with all of teh concerns raised. My uploads are after the events have happened, knowing that I am still awaiting approx £5 difference of money owed which your finance dept for some reason cannot add up properly. haven't responded to chases for the difference - principle of it, and still have not paid teh money back. That is not professional. FACT Not bothered about responses, it is factual information based on events that YOU certainly don't control. I made all chases and your staff are inconsiderate and one hung up the phone after numerous chases for answers and concerns. You do not care hence everyone needs to know how bad your company s. I have explained teh facts and I cannot respond to this without adding teh extras. I had no characters left to add a further response hence the 2nd bad feedback. It is not deliberate, it is teh functionality of tripadvisor and everything stated is genuine at my time when I have spare. No conspiracy, just facts. The facts cannot be denied. I would love to discuss this but no one answers teh phone and I haven't got time to ring on 10 different occasions hoping for a pick up.

I used one of their public chargers, spending £20.51. I was charged...
£1 card validation
£50 for who knows what
£30.51 as they wanted to keep a £10 balance on the account.
My bank got it touch suspecting a scam. Not sure it us actually a scam, but heaven knows why I was charged so much. Currently working with my bank to get a refund.
Agreed a date in the Easter break. Once paid deposit was advised that date is not available. Offered dates after 20th April. Advised that this does not work. Asked for canx and refund. Was advised there is a £40 fee +3%. Gone with another company thanks matched price and can do the date. Avoid these. Currently have an ongoing complaint as they won’t deal with over the phone.
Two weeks have passed since this review and the promise to waver additional charges. I was told my refund would take 7 days. It’s been 2 weeks and I’m still chasing via email as they do not pick up the phone unless you go through the sales line.

If only I could give zero stars. After purchase I was told it wouldn't be 2 weeks until installation. It woukd be installed in 3 weeks. I thought oh well another week wont hurt. So I call them after the 3 weeks to find out when they are coming as ive had no communication what so ever from them, Only then to be told that they need to recruit in my area and the recruitment process takes 2 weeks.
At this point I was just wanting my money back.
Had to wait 10 working days for my money back. So basically in total about 5 weeks from purchase to getting my money back. Stay clear. I will be telling everyone I speak to about EV home charging stay well away from chargepoint EV

Extremely frustrated with with company.
The engineer came over for 4 hours of appointed time and then did not bring all the equipment to install the product. Told me it will take another 2 weeks to come again. I had to cancel and they told us i will incur 40 Charge , eventually after arguing they waived it off. I have been waiting since last 3 weeks for refund and I have made more than 25 calls and up till now not resolved. Will be sending me court notice on monday for Refund. Avoid at all cost!
I have proof of everything i have written so happy to provide evidence.

I've been seeking a quote for an EV charge point to be installed at my property. Specifically, I was dealing with Ian Willis. They were adding a large markup to the cost of the unit they were proposing so I asked if I could supply the unit myself and they handle the install. I received a deeply sarcastic reply from Ian talking about taking steak to a restaurant and expecting the meal for £5 instead of £15. Totally absurd to find a restaurant analogy since it is in no way applicable to a domestic property where people routinely buy electrical devices themselves and hire professionals to fit them. I replied explaining this and dealing with his points in turn only to receive a reply saying See (C) You (U) Next (N) Tuesday (T) (a well-known, highly offensive acronym.) Highly unprofessionaland offesnsive. Steer clear for all you're worth.
A typical installation should cost around 1k give or take, and even though I'm eligible for a £500 WCS Grant, the quoted install was still almost 1k.
All I asked was if I bought the charger whether he would honour the installation cost quoted. This was my calculation....
£541.67 (for the unit) + £547.50 for a half day of installation service and materials = £1089.17 ex VAT, £1307 inc VAT - £500 grant = £807 total cost to me, not £916 as quoted by Ian!! Clearly they were adding margin to the charger itself so I just wanted to save £109 in these difficult financial times. I'm switching to an EV primarily to save money!
Not an unreasonable request. And certainly not requiring abusive and unprofessional responses littered with sarcasm and profanity.

Shocking company - took £789 off me on 30th December 2025 and then 'lost' the order - so wasn't able to install within the timeframe they advertised. Cancelled order (nothing supplied, no contract signed) and went somewhere else and although Chargepoint EV have acknowledged cancellation and sent multiple emails stating their refund policy and timelines (within 10 to 14 days!! - clearly a company plans to delay refunds when you have to write a 'refund policy' longer than your terms and conditions), sent emails stating they are looking into the matter, sent emails asking for bank details, declined two card investigations I launched asking for my money back, they have still not paid back £789 of my money in March 2026. Absolutely shocking company - will be reporting to trading standards - avoid at all costs - there are so many more reputable companies out there.
Update - surprise surprise - within an hour of being named and shamed on here this scam company, who have procrastinated, delayed and complicated the refund process for 9 weeks, have refunded my money - well some of it anyway. Apparently despite breaking their own terms and conditions by not refunding within the timelines of their own, highly complex refund process, and believe that despite never processing an order because they lost it in their system, never once proactively contacted (alway me chasing them) they are entitled to a £65 cancellation fee. AVOID THIS COMPANY - what a dishonest way of going about business. They have done nothing at all, except sit on £790 of my money for 9 weeks and think they are entitled to keep some of it!!!
Further update - Chargepoint EV have stated they made a refund in full but still held on to £65 and have ignored further emails. Company should be shut down - absolute shocking service - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

My experience with Chargepoint EV was extremely disappointing from start to finish.
I experienced:
• Two failed installation visits without notice, resulting in wasted annual leave.
• The agreed labour arrangement not being honoured (only one engineer attended despite groundworks being quoted on the basis of additional labourer).
• A one-day job turning into two days due to the above.
• An overcharge on the EV pedestal, which was only corrected after I challenged it with evidence.
• Ongoing issues obtaining a properly revised invoice reflecting agreed adjustments.
Whilst they corrected the blatant overcharge on the EV pedestal and classified it as a small “goodwill” reductions, this was incorrect as they were trying to profiteer from simply reselling someone else's product. I will be reaching out to Trading Standards on this practice.
What stands out most is the handling of the dispute. Despite repeated polite requests, the director refused to speak with me directly to resolve matters. Instead, communication became increasingly dismissive, discussion was shut down, and I was threatened with court action rather than offered meaningful engagement. Clearly a money grabbing organisation if I have ever seen one!
I ultimately paid the balance to close the matter, but the process was unnecessarily adversarial and stressful.
The charger works — but the service, transparency, and senior-level accountability were pathetic and below what I would expect from any half decent electrical contractor.
I DO NOT recommend them.

After a few issues with stock and cancellations it was finally installed today and worker was professional and installed the new unit exactly where it needed to go and cleaned up after themselves, good job
Cancelled installation twice. Funnily enough, it was me having to call them to find out it was cancelled. On both occasions, I was told the engineer was on his way and they would call me back within 10 minutes. This never happened. Waited an hour and had to call them, only to find out the engineer was not coming.
It took them 3 attempts to complete a job that they had booked in.
I lost 2 days of paid work waiting for them to turn up, although they did discount me £75, although that does not make up for the other 18hours worth of pay missing for their incompetence.
On the 3rd attempt, the engineer turned up and, to be fair to him, he was fantastic. He was really apologetic about the whole thing and did a great job.

Cancelled the installation on the day and did not provide an alternative for over a week. I had to call to chase up for an update and they never pick up the call. The pricing is not very transparent, we required an additional consumer unit and it wasn't included in the quote. As we never got an alternative date, we cancelled the order weeks ago (via email). They "forgot" to process the cancellation and we are still paying in instalments for a service we did not receive.
Terrible communication, with constant promises to "call you back later today", which never happens.
Update (6 March) : I am still being charged by the finance company despite being informed my order has been cancelled. So far I have been charged almost £300 since January, with no sign of getting my money back!

The installer Steve was friendly, efficient and got the job done quite quickly. He also explained the installation, guide and set up the first time charge.
Con artists! Have rearranged on me 4 times. Finally everything confirmed that they're coming today and stock is held for me, and then I get an email that there is no stock and the electrician is not coming.
Do not use! You will NEVER get your charger.
I cannot respond to their response hence this edit.
Suffice to say that after the first 4 cancellations there is NO EXCUSE for why you don't already have the stock. It should have been in your hands already before you set another date with me. Cowboys!

Arrived on time, very minimal noise or disruption and a quick and thorough walk-through of the instructions. Couldn’t ask for more.
I had a great experience with ChargePointEV. Steve, who handled the installation, was fantastic — friendly, knowledgeable, and very efficient. He took the time to clearly explain how the charger works, which I really appreciated. The installation itself was done neatly and professionally, with great attention to detail.
Tom from the Sales team was equally impressive. He was informative, clear, and responsive — never pushy, just genuinely helpful and quick to answer any questions.
Overall, it was a smooth and positive experience from start to finish. I would definitely recommend ChargePointEV to anyone looking to have an EV charger installed.
Steve Connolly was very nice and professional. He ensured everything is working fine before he left.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We purchased a charger and were given a provisional install date, we never heard from the company to confirm the install, they emailed us 1-2 days prior to the install it was not happening and would then be postponed and re-booked for 6 weeks away. We subsequently cancelled the installation and requested a refund. This has not been over a month and the refund has not been processed. When trying to speak with anyone via call or email, they just do not respond. Very thankful to have not gone ahead with such an unreliable company.

If it was possible to give less than one star I would. Horrendous company to deal with. Very friendly and helpful when calling through prior to purchase. Prior to purchase I called a couple of times with questions about chargers and installation and this experience was helpful and each time I was told it would be installed within 2-3 weeks. As soon as I purchased and placed the order it was and still is a terrible experience. As soon as you place the order and upload all of your photographs you are told you will receive a call within 24 hours with an installation date. 3 working days passed and I heard nothing. I called and left a message and submitted and online query. I eventually received a call back (the female was polite and friendly) but stated the company didn’t have anyone to install in in my area and that they would me a call in 2-3 weeks and see how they were placed! I had taken out a credit agreement and this would mean I’d be paying for this item and wouldn’t have it. If the company had stuck to the advertised timeline this would have been fine (I placed the order on 6th January which allowed for 3.5 weeks for installation before any payment would be taken). After the callback I called through the next day to cancel and spoke with another female who advised me to, “hang fire” on cancelling as she had someone lined up to install in my area who was keen to get started and assured me she would call me back by close of business that day. I reiterated before we ended the call that she would call me that day with an update and she said she would. It states as you call through the all calls are recorded so this can be verified. I waited for my call. No call. I called at 9am the next day to be told she wasn’t in until 10am. I called at 10am and spoke with the polite female again and was told that the other female who was supposed to call me back the previous day wasn’t working that day and that there was no one who could help me or give me any information. It was agreed I’d receive a call the following morning around 10am when she started her shift. I followed this up with an email providing my husband’s number also. No call. I sent emails and I did eventually receive a vague response and basically I was told they are a small company and they were not interested in my complaint. I then asked about cancellation. I followed their cancellation process and emailed to request a cancellation and again did not receive a response. I called several times and finally spoke with the female who had now failed to call me back on several occasions who was completely unapologetic and would not confirm that my order had been cancelled. Eventually after several requests I received a very vague email that was badly worded that acknowledged my request to cancel and I was told it would be processed within 7-10 working days. I called several times to check on the progress of my cancellation/refund and was told it would be sorted by 30th January (11 working days after i submitted my refund request). To date I have received no communication to confirm my cancellation has been processed and I have not been refunded. I have checked with the credit company and their broker who have stated they are waiting on Chargepoint EV returning the money to them and that they have not heard from Chargepoint EV at all to date. The person I spoke with at Chargepoint EV are blaming the credit company and said, “we have had a few issues with them saying that haven’t received information from us but we have sent it” again calls are supposed to be recorded so this can be verified. It's incredibly frustrating to feel like you're not valued as a customer and to be ignored and constantly let down. I would not recommend this company to anyone. If they can’t manage basic communication and meet deadlines, it raises serious doubts about their professionalism and reliability.
I hope they take this feedback seriously and improve their approach, but based on my experience, I wouldn’t go near them. I’m still waiting for my cancellation confirmation and my refund and unfortunately for me it looks like I’ll be making another credit payment as the company have failed to process my cancellation within their timeframe of 7-10 working days.

Extremely poor communication and failure to refund
I paid a £99.90 deposit to ChargePointEV for an EV charger purchase. My finance application was refused, so the order could not proceed. I requested a refund on 09/12/2025.
Since then, I have repeatedly been promised payment, including written confirmation that the refund would be received the following day. No refund has been received. Emails are ignored, and when I do receive a response, it is vague or incorrect (including an incomplete template email).
This has been ongoing for weeks and has required escalation to my bank. I would not recommend this company based on my experience.
