Extra fees are beyond the pale

The fact that I ended up with a $4500 bill for an item my winning bid was $3500 will prevent me from doing this again. Fool me once, etc....

Be aware that you pay a lot more than your final bid!!!

I was very disappointed to learn that upon the conclusion of the the auction I participated in, the item was going to be nearly $150 more expensive than my final bid due to an outrageous and excessive buyer's premium and shipping and handling. That should be made very clear to the buyer prior to any final sale, rather than have it buried in fine print most people such as myself will never see or know about when you register for CharityBuzz. The only things you are required to do when you establish an account is provide your credit card information and address! There is nothing stated about making sure you see the fine print prior to bidding. There was a lot of confusion with my experience, and so as a result I will only be a one-time user of charitybuzz. Upon reading reviews, you will quickly find out how many people are equally disappointed in this company. Charitybuzz is extremely misleading.

The bidding process is easy and you get notified when you bid, when you are outbid and when you won. Good follow up with the process after you win.

No item, huge overcharge, and the premium

I haven't received my item and you are charging outrageous shipping cost on top of the extremely large 20% premium. I've asked for a manager to get in touch with me but the shipping manager has failed to do so. I'm very irritated

Got wrong item and nobody is helping Fraud

I won a Ted Williams lithograph signed but received a Red Chil Peppers books I tried repeatedly contacting them to provide me with the correct $700 item ( there was a 20% premium charged for which i was never made aware Is that even legal?) but have gotten zero response It has been 30 days as well First experience and it seems like a fraud

Buyer Beware of Charity Buzz 20% buyer’s premium added to agreed upon purchase price

Charitybuzz does not proactively communicate a 20% buyers premium. Moreover anything under $50,000 purchase price is automatically charged this fee. Charitybuzz is a misnomer - make donations to charities you support versus lining the pockets of the company Charitybuzz.

I won the winning bid on the item and despite phone calls and emails I have not been able to get delivery of a redemption email so I can schedule the experience I won through my bid.

Outrageous markups

I inadvertently put a bid on an item and was promptly charged with a 40% markup over bid. Once I experienced the outrageous, markup and shipping cost, I tried to cancel, but charity buzz refused. This will be the last time I transact with your website.

Thanks for checking in with us here. Our Buyer's Premium fee goes as high as 20% maximum for each lot and is a fee standard across auction houses worldwide. This helps us keep operating as a business supporting different charities and make improvements to our site/overall experience. Though we're obviously sorry to hear it came as a surprise.
We take feedback about our site seriously, and will use this input to continue to improve our messaging and customer experience.

That said, we're indeed very strict when it comes to removing a bid with us. Removing or altering bids after the fact can undermine the integrity of what we do here, which is always to raise as much funds for the charitable causes and organizations that we partner with as possible.

I feel your buyer's premium is a hidden charge that should be clear during the bidding process. I had to search to find out what it was. On the Conditions of sale page you have to select "read more" to get to this charge.

They should have smaller increments on auctions. The bet increments are $100-250 sometimes and should be $25-50 at least IMO.

Thanks for taking the time to leave us this feedback. All Charitybuzz auctions follow a set tier of bid increments, with the increment being determined by the current highest bid on any given lot. We get wanting to see lower bid increments, but by increasing our bid increments proportionately with the highest bid, we're able to maximize the amount of money raised for charities.
