Chatopen.app is a lie - misleading advert and fraudulent product
Knowing I wanted ChatGPT Plus, I googled it and the first site came up stating it was the official home of ChatGPT. Not knowing who makes what, and since there are so many, I didn't have much reason to not believe google. I purchased the plus version, and QUICKLY found that it was NOT ChatGPT. I quickly requested a refund only to find out they call it an accidental purchase and do not do refunds in that manner. Turns out, when your read the refund requirements, there is no way they would ever give a refund. There was no mention of this during purchase either. I've requested a new CC and will dispute with my provider, as well as be reporting this to the FTC as misleading and fraudulent. Simply Google chatgpt, and the first site you see is a sponsored site stating it is the official home of chatgpt ( I have a screenshot for FTC ).

When my wife wanted to upgrade to Chat GPT Pro I paid a one month subscription Chatopen.app but unfortunately didn't check if I was making payment to the right party.
The payment was made using my Eurocard and duly accepted 0n July the 15th.
I found out about this only after contacting Chat GPT support.
I shall try for a refund contacting them directly but this may be refused.
I contacted the site directly on 04.08. and as expected refund was refused.
They offered to me that my wife should begin using their site as regular customer instead stating that presumably their service is adequate.
I reread terms of use and they are formulated in such a way that refund is practically impossible even in case of purchase by a EU citizen and demanding it in regular 14 day period.
Unfortunately it looks like that this is the final result of our business transaction.
After direct communication with support of the site and on explicit demand and demand to cancel subscription I have received full refund. The answers were prompt and to my satisfaction.
That for change is a pleasant and welcome surprise.
I cannot judge or recommend regarding the quality of their service though as we haven't used it.
Refund received today (05.08.2025).

I was forced to give them 1-star here. They are frauds from the start, do NOT use this service!
I have screenshots...can't post them here evidently, that shows their fraud.
I got home, went to subscribe to ChatGPT (after researching it)...I typed in ChatGPT google search to subscribe...and Chatopen's fake internet link came up.
It was #1 on the search engine, the title, "ChatGPT Official Website", I clicked on. Their internet web page came up with ChatGPT all over it....even "Powered By OpenAI" which is ChatGPT verbiage.
I didn't even know how to contact them, no phone, web address or how to email them to get my money back....until I looked at the bottom of TrustPilot.
* Wrote to them for money back...that address doesn't exit any longer.
Don't trust ChatOpen...ever.

As many other have reported, it's a scam. Superficially pretends to be ChatGPT. Doesn't even have an app in the app stores because they would get thrown out. No customer support online - ironically, not even a chatbot! No way to cancel your annual charges short of disputing the charge and canceling your credit card number. Phone number for merchant is 646-349-3411 but no answer.

I've use ChatGPT free for months. Works great, so decided to upgrade to PRO but didn't want to use my backup email address, so I searched ChatGPT Pro and got to ChatOPEN which copies ChaptGPT look and feel. I created a new email account, was excited to get the 50% 1 yr subscription deal. When it was activated, I got squat results from it for the 30 minutes I tried! I was trying to debug software, then I tried to cancel but how? I could not figure it out. No email receipt confirmation either. So call credit card company to cancel my card and when the charge gets posted I'll put a stop payment on it. I got hosed for the first charge, but at least it will not re-occur.
