Cannot buy Cherry Lane Gift Cards online
Have just been told that Cherry Lane don't do Gift Cards - the CSO wasn't even sure whether they do gift cards instore or not. Plus I was told that even if we somehow had a gift card, it could not be used online!
What a wasted opportunity.
No refunds allowed
Hi .. I am very disappointed in the service I have received today. I returned a book I had purchased as a Christmas present on Saturday . There was nothing wrong with it. The recipient had already got the book much to my disappointment.
I have been informed by the cashier that no refunds are allowed you can only have credit voucher. As a pensioner of limited income. I do not wish to leave my money in the bank of Cherry tree to use at my next visit. I needed the refund to purchase another present . I did not need a coffee at the restaurant It was suggested I use the refund for.
It got me thinking of people who spend hundreds of pounds, only to find they cannot get a refund if the product was not suitable.
I questioned my 28 day rights and it doesn't apply to
at Cherry tree apparently.
I wont be going there again. I cant spend my money at a place that as no guarantees. I advice people to be aware of this. So if you are going to spend money on clothing, or shoes, or a new Christmas tree, and its unsuitable when you get it home. You can only get a voucher to return with in 12 months .. If you don't spend that voucher in that time period your money goes into bank of Cherry tree...

Me and my husband went today with our dog who is an akita, all the staff were amazing stroking her and admiring her. We went into the cafe and the manager im guessing was so rude making comments behind us about the dog then came over to us and said thats a large dog she needs to be under the table baring in mind she was laid down under it and not in the way. She kept giving us dirty looks and could clearly see her making comments. Not welcoming at all and will not be eating there again.

Booked Santa's grotto for my children 3 months in advance of Christmas!! I am a single Dad so i have to try and work things around my ex partner which can be difficult with communication, Their T&C's are awful for event bookings..
I booked an event for the 14th December to take my kids to see Santa only to then be told by the ex partner she had a panto booked for the kids at 11am the same day.
Due to this oversight and the fact its three months away i contacted them to see if an exception could be made due to this situation.. I got the most blunt reply to email " As per t&C's no refunds as booking system does not allow it " I Didn't ask for a refund i asked for this to be moved to a later date or time.
Absolutely terrible service so far this was for (Stockton) so they are now £30+ better off and don't want to know! even though there's plenty of availability left.
Told item ready to collect and when arrived said I could not have it
Ordered an item and received an email saying my item was ready to collect. Drove 20 miles to be told the item had been packed away in there warehouse and that the would not go and get it. The staff really weren’t at all bothered and I was even told by a fellow customer that the way they had treated me was very bad.
I will never shop with this garden centre again as they clearly do not care about their customers.

Ahhh where do I start!
Had to ask for all of my data including call recordings to prove the customer service were outright liars.
Ordered decking after hours of research and prior knowledge due to being in the trade. The decking pictured was a high quality decking. On other sites there were two options
basic and premium which equates to 18mm and 28mm with other sites showing pictures and measurements of both.
This company had one option only!
It showed clearly numerous times pictures of the quality decking 28mm. At no point and nowhere on their website did it show an option or even have any form of mm measurements thickness.
Upon delivery I noticed it was a very cheap looking product totally different to the pictures. I checked my order and checked the site again where as before no option of thickness and absolutely no pictures of the item id recieved on their site anywhere.
I contacted the delivery company shire and they confirmed the pictures on their website were a different more expensive product than the one I'd received. They checked their order and cheerytreehad ordered the inferior product.
Upon calling cherrytree and speaking to Bella who is obviously in the wrong job. Absolute no empathy, understanding or simple common sense! I explained the wrong product had been sent. She asked me to keep it weather proof and safe.
This was 4.8mtrs long each x 45 of them!
Not including the base! Over 70 pieces of timber. I asked her to give me her idea of how I could do this. The silence and realisation of her idiotic request was the best part of my experience.
When I explained I physically could not make it safe or cover it I asked her to confirm I would not be liable for loss or damage to which she agreed.
The company then emailed me back stating I had been mistaken and ordered the wrong item.
After checking again they had altered the website which no included an option for 28mm at a stupidly inflated price. The customer service manager also stated after listening to the phone call it was never stated I wasn't liable for damage or theft.
This was an outright lie and totally disgusting cover up changing the website.
I asked them for a dsar which was recieved. This showed not only a call recording as I stated no liability to me it also proved website changes.
Upon ordering my decking from a proper company Savoy timber I smiled to myself seeing now they have removed ALL shire decking from their website.
SHIRE DECKING WERE BRILLIANT THROUGHOUT!
TO LIE BLATANTLY AND CHANGE YOUR WEBSITE IS AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE.
TREAT PEOPLE WITH RESPECT.
TRADING STANDARDS ALL BECAUSE YOU COULDN'T ACCEPT YOU MADE A MISTAKE AND APOLOGISE.

Great store. Brad at the Hagley Store went out of his way to help us load the garden furniture into our car. Even said if it won’t fit take what you can and I will keep the rest for you to pick up. Prices are very reasonable. Brad is a real asset to your store. Thank you.

Ordered a cottage arbour garden seat. Arrived damaged from being packed terribly. I contacted Cherry Lane via email, 24 hr online chat and god knows how many emails, just to be ignored again and again. Bella, who did reply from customer services to a few emails was unhelpful and her response didn’t offer any purposeful comments and failed to resolve anything.
I asked for a call back multiple times over a week - nothing!
Eventually after starting a formal complaint, a manager called and promised a replacement by a certain date (Weds morning) and offered 10% compensation for a waste of a day’s holiday. I stated that my partner would be taking a day off again and therefore the goods would need to be delivered by the latest on Weds morning.
My partner has now taken two days holiday to receive and build this seat and it did not arrive until 5pm. It was past the delivery time they promised. They also refused to take away the damaged part which is too big for us to carry or put into a car to take to the tip: we do not have a van to dispose of it and so it’s stuck on my drive. I had been promised by the manager that it would be picked up so it wasn’t left with us.
I had been trying to contact the garden centre again today.
No reply. Not answering calls again.
I have had shocking customer service. Unhelpful in every way. We have wasted 2 days taken off work, as well as numerous hours of phoning, waiting on the phone, emailing etc.
Do not bother buying from them. They take your money and then don’t give a dam after.
I will never use Cherry Lane garden centre again.

Used to be amazing as a 'stand alone' garden centre. Taken over by QD has massive, negative impact who appear to care little how to treat people that bring them their trade and much less for the loyal staff that built customer rapport, gave exceptional service, misguidingly led to believe their jobs were safe on the takeover, then ruthlessly dismissed.
Used to be a quality establishment where unique and exquisite gifts could be purchased, now, cheap and trashy.
Why, oh, why us no one taking a look at the reviews or, indeed the foot traffic of the restaurant to save this demise?
Garden furniture fine. Courier awful
Garden furniture what was ordered. The delivery company was awful. Took all day off work as it was a 9-5 delivery and they didn't come. Arrived next morning and just dumped the furniture with a pallet in the front of a shared drive too heavy for me to lift. Driver refused to move to my garage. Never using again unless change delivery company.

I went to cherry lane riverside…
I went to cherry lane riverside restaurant with a friend on Tuesday this week. The service was appalling. You now have to queue (it takes a long time at the till causing the queuing to take a long time.) The lady at the till wouldn't let my friend and I be billed separately.
We ordered our food to our table but when we came back our table was gone!! We found a table with my friends scarf on it ( which we'd left so people would know the table was taken)
We sat at the table where the scarf was now but this had a different table number! Our food came after a fairly short wait and was very tasty, but the staff seemed confused because our table number had changed and I explained that our table had gone. Then the waitress apologised and said the customers had pushed the tables together.
This used to be a real favourite place to go but now I don't think I will go again. Lots of the lovely staff have left. It's nowhere near as busy and thriving as it used to be.
The member of staff who dealt with my refund was one of the lovely staff who was there before the takeover.
I spoke to the regional manager who was polite but I didn't get the impression that he was listening. Anne.

Ordered decking. Got emails from 3rd party delivery service which as others have said looks like a scam. Makes no reference to order being for decking. Delivery was meant to be today. Unable to track our order online or speak with the delivery company. Myself & husband both took a day off work for this. We finally received a call at 11 am to say that delivery would not be today as driver had called in sick. Why not tell us 1st thing this morning. We had been waiting at the address for 3 hours by this point! Now unable to speak with Cherry Lane by telephone, just get cut off.

Ordered a £213 garden chair on-line. Received a sales confirmation immediately, telling me it was dispatched. Courier said they had it but nothing more from them. Their courier DX looks like a scam website and doesn’t work. I sent a message to Cherry Lane customer services, but needless to say, no reply from them. Their Instant Chat also doesn’t work. Think I have been scammed…. Do not use them!!!

Have just been to Cherry Lane Lower Road Rochford for lunch, the change is staggering permanently empty. The food is not the same quality basically you’ve destroyed a fantastic restaurant. Not one to bother to write reviews but have just been into the Poddington Garden Centre. Every single member of staff that helped me along my shop (5 in total) were so helpful. They literally couldn’t do enough. From great advice on plants to carrying heavy pots to seeing me struggle & lending a hand and loading into the car.
Genuinely some of the best customer service I’ve seen

catering issues
The visit we made to the bistro was the worst experience we have had for a long time.I am not the kind of person who rights reviews normally,but this was bad.
First of all the lady serving on the hot plate did not. look like she wanted to be at work ,she is in need of customer service training.Next we were served a semi warm meal on cold plates,not a great combination.The Yorkshire puddings were limp and soggy and tasteless.I think these were frozen puddings.The veg was again tasteless and semi warm.Not an experience to be repetted

Had a coffee after shopping Wednesday early afternoon. What a shambles, our party of 3 were so thirsty we waited instead of leaving. Every table had trays on them. The lady serving was so slow and unfriendly, perhaps because she was on her own. The coffee was weak, no cutlery to eat cake so used a teaspoon. The server went to get forks but disappeared for a long time, hence using a spoon. An absolute debacle, will not be going back for a coffee.
