Bought our motorhome from Choose in 2023, although we have had issues which have been sorted quickly by Choose.

We bought a 2nd hand campervan last year from them and had problems from the start and each time they tried to fix it but in the end we asked for our money back or a different van. They were excellent, they gave us the choice, we choose a different van and they gave us money back as well. The whole process was done without any hassle and they couldn't have been more helpful, Elliott the sales person was friendly, helpful and couldn't have done more for us. The whole experience couldn't have been better. We will certainly be using them again and we thoroughly recommend them for there knowledge,expertise friendly staff and expertise

We purchased our new Carthago chic e-line from Choose Leisure after considering both our local dealership and another Carthago dealership in Scotland.

A key factor in choosing Choose Leisure was the assurance we were given during the sales process that **“any warranty issues or servicing could be performed at ANY UK Carthago dealership.”** This was instrumental in our decision to purchase from them. Had this not been promised, we would have purchased from our local dealership, as we had done previously.

Unfortunately, our experience during and after the sale has been very different.

We were due to collect our new motorhome on 6th November 2025. On the evening of 5th November and after having transfered the full amount of money, we received a call to say that the handover (certificate of conformité) paperwork had not actually been received from Germany and that the sale could no longer go ahead until they had received this. The paperwork finally arrived Mid March 2026! So on 17th March we finally collected our new vehicle.

After just two months, the Thule Omnivent extractor stopped working. Carthago supplied a replacement under warranty to Choose Leisure. We were then told that Choose Leisure has **no relationships with any other UK Carthago dealership**, and that we would therefore have to travel to their service centre in Canterbury to have the replacement fitted — a round trip of approximately **300 miles**.

This is completely at odds with the assurance we were given when purchasing the vehicle.

We subsequently offered to contact a local Carthago dealership ourselves and arrange for them to carry out the work on Choose Leisure's behalf. Our offer received no response. We contacted Choose Leisure again, explained our concerns and asked what solution they proposed, requesting a response within 14 days.

Once again, **no response.**

The extractor itself is a relatively small warranty item. However, the issue is much bigger than the cost of replacing it. When someone spends a substantial proportion of their life savings and pension on a new motorhome, they reasonably expect the dealer to stand behind the vehicle and provide an appropriate level of after-sales support.

In our experience, that has simply not happened.

More importantly, the statement made to us during the sales process regarding warranty and servicing across the UK was a **material factor in our decision to buy from Choose Leisure**. In light of what we have subsequently been told, we feel that assurance was, at best, seriously misleading. We cannot comment on the intention behind the statement, but the disparity between what we were told before purchase and what happened afterwards is extremely disappointing.

Our concern is also what might happen if a future warranty problem were substantially more serious or expensive. If customers are expected to travel 300 miles for relatively minor warranty work, the implications for a major claim could be considerable.

We are therefore sharing our experience so that prospective Carthago buyers can make an informed decision. **Ask very specific questions about after-sales support, warranty arrangements and which dealerships will actually undertake warranty work before committing to a purchase.**

We sincerely hope Choose Leisure will reconsider its position and provide the level of after-sales service we expected when we bought the vehicle.

As a positive point, we must say that the Handover experience with Dawn was faultless and very informative.

So, in Summary and in the words of the late, great George Michael:

**“Choose Life!”**

…just perhaps think carefully before you **Choose Leisure**.

This is the 3rd motorhome we have bought from Choose Leisure. We wouldn’t go anywhere else! From viewing to handover it was a pleasurable experience. Mark was excellent in showing us around the van and Elliot who did the paperwork was great. Especially when he bought the hot chocolates while we were going through the handover😀

What a fabulous experience it’s been buying our first campervan. Elliot was so helpful and made sure everything went smoothly for our purchase. James did the handover making sure we learnt all we could about how the van works. We cannot express highly enough our experience with Choose.

From arriving on site to completing the purchase of my van the staff were attentive without being pushy and knowledgeable.

Phoned Chose Leisure and spoke to Donna, who at first said no technicians were there on a Saturday, but 30 mins later, she called back and said, come now and we can have a look.
Cut a long story short.
James had a look at my issue, sorted it out and advised me how to hopefully stop it happening again and no charge whats so ever, which was really nice considering I wasn't one of their customers.

Elliot at Choose Leisure made the whole process of buying our first Motorhome an absolute pleasure. Personable and professional, he made what was a daunting process an exciting and enjoyable one.
On pick up day, Mark gave us a no rush handover and answered our million questions, he was fantastic. When the time comes we will not hesitate to return and use them again. We highly recommend these guys and cannot thank them enough.

We purchased our Swift motor home from these guys the experience was extremely pleasurable, Alyson was very attentive and showed us what was available in our requirements and left us to it to explore, All the vans are open to view on site which made the process great to compare the interior styles. There was no sales pressure to purchase and Alyson answered all our questions and gave us pointers to think about before purchasing. On the hand over Paul and Mark were extremely thorough with the motor home explain everything we needed to know. They are a one stop shop for purchasing and servicing. It was a pleasure to do business with them

We recently took delivery our first campervan which we purchased at the February trade show at the NEC. We can't speak highly enough of the excellent service we have received from Choose Leisure from the first moment we met Charlotte at the NEC through to the point of delivery. However much one researches before buying your first van, it is a huge learning curve and nervy process into the unknown and a huge investment. We have received great support throughout the process. We were put in the capable hands of Jack post order and he has kept us informed and answered numerous queries throughout in an efficient timely manner. The three hour handover process by Dawn was incredibly informative and couldn't have been better.
Since taking delivery just three weeks ago, we have been away every weekend and have heard numerous other owners speak similarly about have service they have received from Choose Leisure. Congratulations to you all and I would have no hesitation in using you again.
