Staff were very pleasant and helpful, couldn't do enough for us.
Food was excellent and plenty of it.
Kitchen staff and servers worked very hard, a really hot day too.
Would highly recommend this train journey it was really enjoyable.

Great trip on a scorching hot day
It was a great trip on a scorching hot day. The staff were cheerful, helpful and worked hard to make things work. The scenery we passed through was very pleasant with lots of variety, bridges, a long tunnel, sweet little stations, fields and woods. Really really enjoyable. Amazingly cost effective, paying about £15 for the trip and coffee and cake.
Absolutely brilliant, will join you again soon!

Fantastic Memories...
We had a really enjoyable time on the Churnet Valley Breakfast Train. All the staff at the station were so friendly and welcoming, from the ladies who booked us in to the staff showing us to our carriage and seats. The carriage was beautifully restored, art deco lighting, plush, comfortable seats and immaculate place settings on the table. The lady who served our breakfast was an absolute star, everything we needed she provided. Our breakfast was delicious, plentiful and piping hot, sausages, bacon, tomato, beans, egg, oatcake and lots of coffee for me and tea for my husband. We love steam trains and this did not disappoint us, we steamed though beautiful countryside at a leisurely pace, the sound of the engine chugging a long, the peacefulness was lovely. This treat was well worth the money, cannot praise all the staff and voluntary workers enough, you all made our trip memorable in so many ways, well done Churnet Valley Railway, 20/10.

What an amazing day, we went on the the 3 course meal experience and the food was beautiful I don't know how they do it with so many people aboard. From start to finish the staff couldn't have been more attentive. Definitely worth a visit

An entirely brilliant experience
An entirely brilliant experience! We were treated on arrival as welcome friends (although this was our first time), and although the train taking us was a little late in arriving (due to adjustments to cope with the heat), the turnaround time was swift, and we loaded only a few minutes later than expected. The staff were superb (again despite the very uncomfortable temperatures), service impeccable and the food really first class. And nice views from the train windows! All in all -- fantastic!
On a personal note, it reminded me of long-distance train travel with my parents in the 50s and early 60s -- would that modern rail companies would return to serving food like this.

A magical day out.
I’ve done a few ‘food trains’ and none food trains before yesterday and the experience has always been magical. All of the volunteers were very helpful, very polite and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food, as always, was top class, 5 star Michelin standard. Even with the heat of the day - 35c according to my weather app, the attention that the staff gave to everyone made sure no one suffered unduly. I’ve was readily available and my butter was replaced when it melted! We are already looking forward to our next trip.

Steam train struggled in the heat a couple of unintended stops but didn't spoil the experience. Well organised on a very busy day.
