Travel traumas due to Covid
I was looking to cancel a booking and the consultant I spoke to was most helpful. I don't know it I will be receiving a refund of my deposit, but I am confident that she will do her best to help me. Thank you Dina.

Read terms and conditions, there is no refund on deposit. This is NOT the property owners, this is the greedy CLICKSTAY. They charge you and they also charge the property owners commission and once you book they keep the money no matter what.
USE CLICKSTAY TO LOOK UP VILLAS AND THEN GOOGLE THE VILLA DIRECT VIA GOOGLE MAPS AND YOU WILL FIND THE CONTACT NUMBER, THIS WILL STAY TOU ABOUT 20%

We have had no end of faffing about with our booking for Majorca over the last 12 months, but at every turn the response of Dina and her colleagues has been superb. Fingers crossed for 2022!

We booked Ethie Lodge. Via clickstay. The booking process was really easy and the check in details were well in advance of our stay. Andrew was really helpful.
The accommodation was really welcoming and clean and everything we could have hoped for.

I have had to move my holiday twice now due to Covid. Clickstay have been very helpful and understanding during these difficult times.

Booked a holiday with clickstay for a villa in May last year which due to the pandemic travel restrictions we had to cancel, through no fault of our own. At first Villa Torre and clickstay - or more specifically Jim Murray was really helpful until it came to trying to rearrange the date to no avail as the villa was fully booked every weekend. I tried everything to come up with a new date and even considered booking it later than the planned wedding of my friend whose hen party it was. Again without success. At this point I was passed to another member of staff ‘Steph Jones’ who assured me that we could get a refund and would respond to me within 24 hours with what we were entitled to. Since that day they have refused to reply to any contact I have tried to make. I spoke directly with clickstay who also spoke to the owners of villa torre saying they would arrange details with me directly. But clickstay refused to have any other involvement and couldn’t speak with villa torre on my behalf. They state that it is not their responsibility but the responsibility of the vendor. Still no replies and no refund. Nearly £1400 they have of ours and absolutely no efforts to refund the money we are entitled to. Absolutely disgraceful customer service and having to leave even 1 star on here makes me furious.
I can’t begin to describe the stress and financial loss this has caused to all the party involved. We would never consider booking with this villa or clickstay again and would urge you to steer clear!! No protection for their customers what so ever. Appalling.

We had booked a holiday for April 2020. With the pandemic we were given the option , which we accepted, of carrying the reservation forward one year. In 2021, travel is still not possible. Clickstay contacted us without prompting to ask whether we would now like a refund. The refund was paid promptly. The service we have received has been excellent. When we can we will certainly use Clickstay again.

Our dates had to be changed due to Covid 19 and this was addressed within 24 hours. Confirmation emails were sent and the process was easy.
Where Clickstay really scores compared with some other sites is on the clear pricing information. The actual cost is easy to see straight away. As an example, I looked at a villa on another well known site and the price quoted was £500 pw for peak periods. I wanted 3 weeks in March (avoiding Easter) and was told by the owner that it would be £1700 plus a cleaning charge (not mentioned on the site). When I queried the amount he said "I haven't updated my rates in years - but it's gone up"?? With Clickstay the amount of your booking is crystal clear.

I have always been happy with this company...I have booked many villas with them and although there has been the odd hic cup it was always sorted without any problems....I booked my life last villa ....which was cancelled due to covid and was aware that the deposit was non-fundable. However I booked through my credit card and they repaid the full amount. Would highly recommend....

All Owners and Renters, stay away from these scammers. I am an owner. I have been chasing them for my funds. It has been almost 9 months now and they keep changing the excuse parameters every time. I can't provide best services to my renters without money.
Clickstay can be trusted to help if/ when if a problem occurs
I recently booked an apartment in Sicily for my family via the Clickstay.com holiday rentals platform. On arrival the accommodation was not clean and we decided not to stay. I contacted Clickstay's urgent telephone line and spoke to one of their representatives Mr Eldar Klimentic, Elder advised me to take photographs to evidence our assertion that the accommodation was not presented to an acceptable standard. Subsequently Eldar ensured that we received a full refund of all the money we had paid for the accommodation.
I feel that it is important to know when booking a private villa or apartment on the internet that you feel confident that the website you book with is independent and is not going to just take the side of the landlord in any disputes.

Deposit Refund Refusal
Despite wanting to go to our booked villa in Portugal we were prevented from travel under the Governments advice via the Foreign & Commonwealth Office. While the villa owner was happy for the booking to be cancelled Clickstay has repeatedly refused to refund our £1,028.75 deposit.
We are now taking matters further by report to the Competition & Markets Authority who have stated to the travel industry that so called 'non-refundable' deposits should be classified as 'refundable' during these times of national emergency. Not being able to travel is not the fault of the traveller in current pandemic circumstances says HM Govt/C&MA. I would urge anyone who has similar problems gaining deposit refunds from any villa rental company to report the circumstances to the C&MA and copy in “Which” who are currently investigating non-conformist businesses. Legal action is another route which we are now taking linked to the C&MA declarations about non-refundable deposits not being ‘justifiable’ in rental T&C’s.
It really is a pity Clickstay are taking the route they are taking when most other holiday villa/travel/rental businesses in England are abiding by the C&MA principals.
This was our first booking through Clickstay, and we take 5 holidays a year being retired – a good experience with them could have earned several bookings a year from us, all lost for the sake of customer service really. Such a pity – it shows how if Clickstay got themselves together and put the customer at the heart of what they do, they could have a much better and more profitable business.
Update at 02/08/20 - Following sending of first legal paper to regain my deposit, Clickstay refunded me in full within 24 hours!!
Think long and Hard before using .
During these unprecedented times you would have thought a company that appears to have good reviews would not want to show the dark side of how they really operate .
I'll explain with the truth of my experience, of this company and a member of its staff .
Last April 2019 I booked a villa in Orlando with the company for Easter this year 2020. The reason for the booking was to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary with our family and in particular let our granddaughter experience the delights of Disney .
We duly paid a deposit of £399.71, booked our flights and looked forward to a trip of a lifetime .
We communicated with the owner of the villa re heating the pool and he was excellent and helpful .
The balance monies for the villa fell due this January and we promptly paid Clickstay.com.
Then Coronavirus struck....... The Foreign Commonwealth Office and the USA government stopped all but essential travel
We were understandably devastated that our plans were abruptly ended .
We contacted Clickstay.com and after a lot of mis-information and phone calls I was told we would get a refund less the £399.71 booking deposit . I was told in order for the refund to be paid I had to cancel the booking on their website . I insisted that I was not cancelling the booking but being legally prevented from travelling .I was then told the deposit was their " marketing commission " which I was liable to pay for .What's that about ?
I contacted the villa owner who completely sympathised and confirmed that he would email Clickstay.com and cancel the contract from his end and authorise a full refund of all monies paid . This he duly did but was completely ignored by clickstay.com . I have a copy of the email on file .
I then entered into email exchanges with a Lorraine Harrison from clickstay.com who emailed me to say " let me be clear, your not getting your deposit back and the owner of the villa cannot cancel the contract " further told me that I either cancelled the booking or claim on my insurance !! Totally understanding of the upset and disappointment we were going through !
Fearing this company my go belly up with the crisis unfolding, I was left with no option but to comply with this outrageous demand . Which I did, but not before leaving a nasty taste of clickstay.com .
Our account was eventually credited but not with what the villa owner instructed.
So....if you're thinking about booking a villa /apartment or thinking of placing your valuable holiday home with these people,
Think long and hard because if things go wrong they cut up rough . That is of course if they are still in business .
Clickstay and Jon Stewart in Tenerife were fantastic!
I have read the review posted posted on 30th Sept about Clickstay and Jon Stewart. (From a D.Stewart - rather confusingly!).
We were actually the people in the apartment that these clients arrived too. We had booked it directly with the owner. Due to a mistake BY THE OWNER, not Jon Stewart or Clickstay we were double booked by 1 night.
When these clients spoke to the agent, at late on the Friday night they were able to source an apartment in the same block for them to stay for the 1 night. (Rather than us pack everything up for the sake of 1 night, it made more sense for these clients who had obviously not unpacked their cases to put their head down in the other apartment).
We then departed first thing the next morning (earlier than planned but we did say to help Mr and Mrs D Stewart). Cheryl, the housekeeper for both apartments then cleaned ours (not that it needed much - we are very tidy people) and showed Mr and Mrs D Stewart into the apartment they orignally booked. I would therefore say that Mr and Mrs D Stewart were inconvenienced for no more than 1 hour of their Tenerife Holiday.
At this point I would like to point out that Mr D Stewart was very abusive to the agent he was on the telephone too on Friday night. His language was foul. It was obvious that the agent was trying to do his best to sort out an issue that was not of his doing.
Mr D Stewart was so abusive that Cheryl (who we know well as we've been using the apartment for years) was scared about showing them into the original apartment the next morning as she was concerned she would get another volley of bad language.
In our opinion Mr and Mrs D Stewarts behaviour was very inappropriate and was not needed at all. The review is actually totally misleading as the clients arrived on Friday evening and it suggests that nothing was done for them all over the weekend. Clearly that is absolutely not true.
I am sure the main office did contact them immediately on Monday morning but the local agent plus Cheryl had already resolved everything.
Obviously it is far from ideal to arrive to an apartment that has someone in it. (And we have already wrapped the owners knuckles over this!) But I know for a fact this was not Clickstays or Jon Stewarts fault.
Sorry but I cannot stand to see a good, honest, company have their reputation tarnished over a factually incorrect review. In fact Jon Stewart dealt with a very tricky situation very well and whilst it was late on a Friday a new apartment in the same block was sourced at minimal inconvenience to Mr and Mrs D Stewart. I am actually very surprised they got any compensation as in my opinion they received excellent service.
