We've just made the tragic decision to send our 14½ year old boxador over the rainbow bridge, for her eternal slumber. Because Bella was absolutely petrified of going to the vet, we had already made the decision that she would be put to sleep at home, surrounded by her family. We made this decision when she had started to deteriorate.

Our initial decision was to put her to sleep later this week, so that people she touched with her beautiful soul could drop in to give her treats, fuss and love. Then we decided it needed to be sooner, because she was deteriorating. We ended up getting a next day appointment. The people who booked her in were kind, compassionate and really understood how distressing it was. They were very good.

The vet, Susie, was incredibly reassuring for Bella, our beautiful girl, and for our family. She stayed at Bella's side to calm her completely, prior to sedating her, so that she could do what was needed prior to giving her the anaesthetic.

The entire experience was absolutely heartbreaking, but Bella's passing was completely peaceful, restful and beautiful. We remained at her side throughout. We couldn't have wished for a better end to her long and wonderful life. Susie was really wonderful, compassionate and caring. She treated Bella like she was her own dog. She treated her with so much love. She took all of the time we needed, plus all of the time Bella did, too. She gave us the space, when we needed it, so that we could tell Bella that she was a very good girl, a very lovely girl, and that we loved her with all our hearts and souls.

My brothers dog is eight and my mum's dog is four. Hopefully they won't need this yet. When they do, I'll recommend they use Cloud 9 Vets. If you're in this incredibly sad position, Cloud 9 Vets are what you need. Bella crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday, we're so impressed that I felt Cloud 9 deserved a really prompt review.

Very disappointed that Cloud 9 don't have a vet who will travel to North Berwick (about 22 miles outwith Edinburgh) to euthanase our dog. We specifically wanted her to be euthanased at home where she has always felt safe and loved, with the people who care for her. We would have been happy to pay a surcharge for distance but weren't offered that as an option.

the vet who came to send our beloved dog to rainbow bridge was luvly she made a horrendous heartbreaking decision easier with her kindness and compassion we never felt rushed and was told what was happening every step of the way cant recommend cloud 9 enough

We called Cloud 9 Vets hoping and praying they would have a vet available the same day that could come to our home and put our beloved English Bulldog to sleep. We desperately wanted to avoid a vet environment and I’m so so glad they managed to get a vet within a few hours to come to our home. Me and my partner were distraught at losing our boy and the vet was so caring, understanding and allowed us time on our own with him once he had passed and honestly made the whole experience as peaceful as possible. I am so grateful to her.

I can't recommend Cloud 9 enough. Having our family cat put gently and beautifully to sleep in his favourite spot at home was so fitting and comforting for us. Everyone at Cloud 9 from the telephone staff to the lovely vet were so kind. Thank you.

We made the difficult decision to say goodbye to our dog yesterday. I’m glad we were able to say goodbye at home in a calm and peaceful environment. Everyone I spoke to on the phone at Cloud 9 Vets was so sensitive to our situation and patient. They managed to schedule a next day appointment for us. Steve the vet was lovely, so very kind to us and to our girl as she passed. The man that came from the crematorium was also so respectful and kind. If you are able to, I would recommend planning your pet’s euthanasia at home on your terms. Our dog went peacefully surrounded by people who love her. Thank you to everyone at Cloud 9 that made that possible.

Losing a beloved pet is the worst feeling
When I realised it was my CKCS Alfie’s time I contacted my Vet to ask if they offered home visits, they put me in touch with Cloud 9 and on Saturday morning an amazing David Harvey came to us
He was simply amazing, he talked us through every aspect of the dreaded procedure , what could happen , asked how we wanted to do it, gave us time to spend last precious moments with Alf, answered our dumb questions, and truly made a horrible situation beautiful and bearable. There was no rushing, it was so dignified and when it was time for David to leave , he shook hands with my son and I told him I would rather give him a hug. I cannot praise you highly enough David for your patience, compassion and lovely disposition .You are a gentle and gentleman

We were recently referred to Cloud 9 by our local veterinary practice. I have to say that the service we received was exemplary from start to finish. Our initial phone call was dealt with in sincere empathy. Danielle, handled the call brilliantly and fully explained the process and associated costs in a very sympathetic manner. A home visit by the vet, Andrea, meant we could spend a few hours in the sunshine with Winston, our dog, in his favourite part of the garden. The vet was fantastic with Winston and he was very respectful of our needs and feelings. We subsequently had a private cremation and the ashes were delivered a week later, by Neil, in a wooden casket together with a foam and some inked paw prints. I cannot speak highly enough of the service provided by Cloud9. Highly recommended.

We spoke initially to Danielle who was very kind and took the time to explain and clarify the process, and arrange things for our beloved cat Phil. She recommended Audra as the right vet for us and happily, was able to book her for us on short notice - which really made a difference. It was a fantastic choice. Audra was highly skilled and and the way she worked was incredible. She had a caring, gentle approach and took all the time necessary to explain everything to us and answer all our questions. Audra also carried out the process flawlessly. Phil's last moments were dignified - and we were very comforted knowing he passed swiftly and more importantly, painlessly. We could not have hoped for a better end to a long life that brought us so much joy over the past 24 years - we can't thank Audra and Danielle enough.

As a side note, I should say that I honestly thought that my wife was going to go into meltdown but Audra was so good that she immediately relaxed, and by the end, was incredibly calm seeing how careful and caring Audra was with our loveable little boy.

Anyone using cloud 9 is making a very difficult and sad decision but cloud 9 dealt with this with such sensitivity and empathy . Josie the vet who attended was amazing she immediately put me at ease and made me so much more comfortable with the decision I had made . I would recommend this service 100%. My beautiful Bella passed away peacefully in her own home with absolutely no stress. Thank you so much josie and cloud 9. Also thank you to the lovely man who collected her.

It's taken me a couple of weeks to write this, our beloved cat at 22 had reached the end and we couldn't face taking her in the car to the usual vets. We were referred to Cloud 9. Both the phone booking and the visit itself were handled sensitively and professionally.

Letting go was always going to be traumatic for us but Cloud 9 made it such that our cat was relaxed until the end. Thank you.

I had a bad experience with the Bournemouth receptionist but have since had an apology from the owner and am satisfied this will not happen again

Our vets were unable to come to our house, but they gave us cloud9's number. Sally was extremely professional and very sensitive and kind. She made an awful experience bearable. In similar circumstances I would go there first, before our vets.

Last week my mum had to say goodbye to her 13 year old Akita, I had to make the arrangements on her behalf as she was too upset to be dealing with anything at that time. I cannot thank cloud 9 vet enough for the way they handled everything. Starting with Jennifer on the phone and ending with Natasha the vet visiting the house. We had same day call out. Jennifer was very friendly and helpful and helped us get prepared. Then came Natasha the vet who visited in the evening the same day and she was very compassionate. Our Icey was suffering in soo much pain, Natasha was soo gentle and caring. Considering she was dealing with a family that had deaf family members, she did soo well in explaining the procedure to everyone. It was a sad and heartbreaking time for the family but cloud 9 vets handled it with such care I couldn’t have made a better choice that day.

We used cloud9vets 3 years ago to have our beloved 16 year old Jack russel dog put to sleep. It was such a peaceful calm experience that made it easy to say goodbye.
We then had to use them again last week when our old border terrier couldn’t walk any longer. She had always been so frightened of the vets that it was the easiest decision to use cloud9 again.
The lady vet that came was so lovely and professional, she explained everything to use and we cuddled our old friend until she was asleep and then died peacefully.
Once again it was as lovely experience as possible and calm throughout. Thank you so much 💗💗

I’m so glad Cloud 9 came into our lives at the right moment. My beautiful 5 year old Frenchie – Levi – had gone from being a happy loving playful little dog to having around 20 lumps over his body – cancer that spread within 2-3 weeks (likely spread so fast due to Apoquel tablets – please google the link between these tablets and cancer).

5 days after his diagnosis, I had to put him to sleep as his eyesight went completely, then his balance and ability to stand up. It was absolutely heartbreaking and still is.

I hadn’t thought about the end for my dog, and had made no plans until the day I decided it had to be done. I wasn’t even aware of home euthanasia. I’m so glad I found out about it, and I’m so glad Cloud 9 came up in my search results when I was desperately trying to find someone to come out at short notice so late on a Friday.

I’d been let down by another company who said they were coming out then called at 6pm to say they couldn’t come. I had so few options – Cloud 9 did everything they could to find one of their vets to come over to my house late on a Friday evening. I think they knew how desperate I was at that point.

Sonia came to my house to see Levi off to sleep. He went lying in his favourite place – my bed – with his favourite food. It was just like he went to sleep. Sonia was so compassionate and gentle and kind. I feel like I had the best person in the world come to help us in the worst moment – she was perfect in every way. I’ll remember Sonia for the rest of my life. It was the saddest experience, but she made it – right, just right.
