Short version:
Absolutely love these retreats, Coach Mike, and the gym. It’s such a great community. I’m going back for my third trip in March 2025, and I cannot wait!

Long version:
Airport pickups super smooth (HKT is small and easy to navigate), which takes pressure off when you get to Phuket.
Staying in housing that’s pretty much all people also training makes for a neat environment and most of the retreat group is in the same building or very close by, which added to out sense of community.
Now having Coach Mike, as a resource while we were there is amazing. No matter what it is you at wanting/wanting to do… he can help. His support makes it feel like home away from home. He’s knowledgeable about the area and the culture. He puts together group activities (outside of training of course) going to fights, markets and of course things involving food, which is a lot of fun.
Before we even get to Phuket, he had given us info on what apps would be helpful, what’s easiest for calling rides, and helpful Thai phrases.
The gym we train as a small group, so you actually get to know the coaches and the other people training. The training sessions are certainly different than I was used to at home. You see so much improvement, so quickly, if you put in the work. I have had nothing but great experiences training there.

Coach Mike was an excellent host, providing my mother and I with well-needed advice and being very accomodating to alterations in our plan. My cousin happened to be backpacking in Thailand as well, and Mike was happy to adjust and let him join in on some of our excursions.
Training at Singha Muay Thai was an absolute blast, and I was definitely put through the ringer. 2 sessions a day on most days. All the coaches treated us well, and there was definitely a playful atmosphere at the gym while still working hard.
One of the things I appreciate the most is how flexible the retreat plan was, everything was you get out of it what you are willing to put in. Mike had a wealth of knowledge about Phuket and was happy to answer any and all of the questions I had about different areas like the markets, or food spots as well as beaches to hit.

All in all it was great to train with Mike again, I hope to join in on one of his retreats again in the future. Was a great experience!

The gorgeous Phuket destination contains everything you'll need within arm's reach. The area surrounding our hotel is very walkable and contains every amenity you need - gear, massages, coffee, organic food, and a bustling community of fitness enthusiasts. It is very easy to navigate the city by taxi and travel to Thailand's famed beaches, spas, and historic temples.

If you need any knowledge or recommendations for anything in Thailand, Mike will have anything you need. Mike's lived experience with Thailand, Muay Thai, and Thai culture provides a deeper perspective to maximize your goals for your trip. Whether it be leisure, training, or cultural enrichment, Mike will provide you with the resources you need to make you feel welcome in the land of smiles.

I have experienced a total paradigm shift in my fitness regimen after my retreat and continue to build on these major developments. The intense training accelerated my timeline, shattered limits, and created new ceilings to reach. I had the privilege of learning Muay Thai working with seasoned fighters from all over the world, something only the absolute few experience in the USA. No matter the duration of your trip, you will return home fulfilled in your pursuit for worldly experience

Made some incredible memories, met so many cool and talented fighters, gained valuable knowledge. I reached what I thought were my physical limitations and pushed myself beyond them. There's no other Muay Thai experience like this back home. Can't wait do it again someday.

I cannot stress how beyond happy I am that I did not miss out on Mike’s retreat this March 2024. He made this retreat easy peasy and very memorable. I met amazing fighters, coaches, and made lifetime friendships. If you’re worried traveling solo, you will be safe with Mike. He takes care of your stay, will take you to a very welcoming and friendly Muay Thai gym, the get togethers are well thought out, and anything you want to do in Phucket he will make sure you get the best experience. You will not regret going on this trip. In fact, please make sure you stay longer than a week.
