Placed an order and forgot to give my house number was phoned by a gentleman at the business for the information. Order was sent out the sane day. Goods were well packaged and arrived in good condition and were as descriibed. Would definitely buy from them again.

Very disappointing service.
I placed an order for 52.02£, mostly fresh food. After receiving a message that my order was on its way, I rushed home from work, but it never arrived.
The next morning, I received another message saying it would be delivered that day. I was already at work, so I changed the delivery to the end of the week.
The store then called me to say they would not keep the food refrigerated and that I would not get a refund. The order was still delivered, but all the fresh food had gone bad and had to be thrown away.
The delivery problem was caused by the store, yet I lost 52.02£ I won't be ordering from them again.

We always want our customers to have a flawless experience, but we do need to gently correct the timeline mentioned in your review, as the delivery delay was not caused on our end.
Because we care about our customers' orders, we want to be completely transparent about the lengths we went to in order to help save your food:
Monday 3:51 PM: We carefully dispatched your order using specialised temperature-controlled packaging and ice packs to keep your food perfectly chilled in transit. When we dispatch an order you get an email saying "Your order is on the way to you. Track your shipment to see the delivery status". If we go by your review, you claim you received this email on Sunday and rushed home when we don't dispatch on weekend and DHL doesn't deliver on Sundays.
Monday 5:46 PM: In less than 2 hours after dispatch, the DHL logs show the delivery was manually rescheduled on your end to Thursday. So, to clarify, the DHL order was rescheduled by you before any delivery attempt was ever made, as it had just been collected from our store. Sadly, delaying the courier this long breaks the cold chain needed for fresh food. In your review you mention you received an email in the morning and that's when you rescheduled when the logs prove otherwise.
Tuesday Morning: Because we closely monitor our shipments (especially during a heatwave!), our team spotted your rescheduled date and immediately gave you a call to warn you about the risk of spoilage and tried to help you with solutions.
The Solution Offered: After learning that you delayed the delivery due to work constraints, we actively encouraged you to redirect the package to a local DHL Service Point. They are open late, which would have allowed you to safely collect your fresh food after your shift without it going bad. We also sent a follow-up email with this advice.
We know juggling deliveries and work schedules can be tough, and we are genuinely sorry that your fresh food went to waste! However, our shipping policy clearly outlines that for chilled perishable products, customers must ensure someone is available to accept the delivery, or select to leave it with a neighbour or in a safe space.
The policy also explicitly states that we cannot accept refunds if you miss your initial delivery day and the products are no longer safe to consume. We truly tried our absolute best to ensure you got your food in perfect condition, and we are so sorry you chose not to use the alternative collection options we provided to save your order.
It is very disheartening to see such false claims on the timeline of events in an attempt to make us look bad and damage our reputation when we have truly gone out of our way assist you in the best way possible.

I came across Continental Food Store searching for a specific product that has been out of stock for years in most shops. They had them in stock so I ordered a few, only half expecting them to be in stock, and some other snacks. I was apprehensive because there are a lot of small continental shop websites that are not legit, but I took the risk because this item is so hard to find without spending lots on import tax from other countries. There was a good selection of interesting snacks, cereals, drinks etc. Many I hadn't seen before or had only seen in other countries. There is a selection of fresh cookies available which is lovely. Order was confirmed quickly, and delivery was very fast, just a few days. I ordered on 11th June and the parcel arrived yesterday 16th June. All of my items arrived, including the ones I had been trying to find for 10+ years! Items were packaged very securely with bubble wrap around the glass jars. And everything has a good date on it, many items have until December which is wonderful and not always the case when ordering online. Thankyou very much! Highly recommend and will absolutely return in future. The order receipt says "Thank you for supporting our small family-run store ❤️" and I am very happy to continue supporting! (I created a Trustpilot account just to leave this review!)
Competitive prices, quick delivery, and on delivery only 1 glass bottle out of 12 was smashed! All other bottles were sealed and still in their factory packaging.
Much better than the shop I used before where 3 out of 12 bottles were damaged or open. Good service. Will buy again.

We take accusations like this very seriously and are honestly confused by your comment. We’ve worked incredibly hard to build a trusted reputation, not just in our local community but with thousands of customers across the UK through our online store. We would never do something like this to damage that trust; it completely goes against our ethics and how we run our business.
We are a highly-rated store with strict waste protocols in place -including two professional disposal contracts, we work closely with the council, and have our own private yard for all waste collections. Since there’s no detail or evidence provided, we strongly suspect this is a case of mistaken identity. We are based in Harold Hill (London) area and there are many other stores with a similar Continental Food Store name.
We’d appreciate it if you could get in touch with us directly so we can look into this, as we would never treat our neighbourhood or our reputation this way as we also live in the same area!💚
Exceptional service from the seller, even rang me to double check our address for Royal Mail to deliver, how many sellers do that!! The box was packaged extremely well, never seen a parcel so carefully packed. Cannot recommend Continental Food Store highly enough, will certainly use them again.
Excellent first experience with the Continental Food Store . Ordered some biscuits that my little boy likes and they were delivered within 48 hours and were really packed well. I didn’t know what to expect from them but my experience has been excellent . I can happily recommend them and will be back for more shopping !

Hi Jan, thank you for taking the time to write a review. As I explained to you we have cctv footage of your order being packed with no issues as you described. You initially contacted us and asked about the pieces of chocolate it should have, I explained that the content of the box is 120g chocolate, not sold in pieces. So it depends on the weight of the individual chocolates in the box. Some may get 11 pieces others 10 or 12, but the total of it is 120g. This is factory sealed and packed, its not in our control. You didn't like this answer then you switched the conversation to the box was open from the bottom, which I mentioned we have CCTV in our packing area and we found no issues with your order. Now there is a possibility that during transit maybe you parcel got damaged and popped open the box of chocolate from the bottom because of an external force against the box. Which again, this not in our control and we could have investigated this further with you but you mentioned nothing about how your parcel was delivered. It is very disheartening to see you give us a negative review to try and hurt our small family business when there is nothing wrong with your order and you refuse to accept that on the packaging it says 120g and that there are no mention of how many pieces of chocolate it is. This store is absolutely wonderful. They care a *great* deal about their customers and will go out of their way to help and serve you. I found them for an online source (I understand they do local shopping, I wish I lived near to them! lol) but they are my online source for things I cannot buy locally!! Seen what I had been hinting for on the net..Fanta tropical in big bottle form so jumped straight on aswell as a few American cans of soft drinks ...Ordered dinnertime yesterday and within a hour it was being shipped and received it 2 o'clock this afternoon....If that's not 5 star service what is...Will definitely use again
