the coop is absolutely tiny
the coop is absolutely tiny, the pictures make it look far bigger and it is not suitable for our 3 small chickens let alone the 5 it says it could house. the wooden is thin and cheap, the latches don’t seem like they would be very fox proof and for £200 i definitely expected more. it does look cute but it’s not very fit for purpose and im really upset we spent so much money on this. i would not order from again unfortunately:(

Not as good quality as I had hoped
Not as good quality as I had hoped, some of the wood is cracked and just generally cheap components, hinges do not look like they will last very long. Some of the pre assembled parts were in the wrong place. The pull out drawers with metal trays seems like a great idea for cleaning, but in hindsight I’m not sure how comfy the buns will find it. Overall, Wish I had just built my own.

Please be aware anyone living in Scotland that high delivery charges apply to all not just Highlands and certain areas as their payment page states.An address in Annan just 8 miles into Scotland incurs charges.

We understand your frustration regarding the delivery charges. Our system applies delivery costs based on postcode zones set by our courier network, and unfortunately, some areas in Scotland, including those close to the border, do fall into higher rate zones.

Avoid this product
Very disappointed. Materials used are barely fit for purpose, the build quality is poor. For the price I’ve paid I feel I’ve been had. The delivery, even after speaking to a customer service team member was as poor as the product itself.

Bad customer service
Ordered on the Friday at 4pm. Was not expecting next day delivery. Saturday morning recieved an email that my order had been dispatched.
Sunday recieved an email from Gizmo saying my order wouldn't be dispatched until Wednesday/Thursday. Questioned this, (had to check Gizmo wasn't a scam as they sent the most unprofessional email I've ever received). Was told this was fine, I asked multiple times about when I'd recieve delivery and about delivery fee.
Response was rude, un informative, and then just stopped replying when I asked why I'd been given two conflicting emails about when to expect delivery.
Recieved item on Tuesday.
Honestly didn't know if I'd actually receive it, would not recommend and will not use again.

Very very pooy
Very, very poor quality, the wind will push the hut over and a fox would easily get in. We have had to reinforce it every were, I wish we had built our own. Very over priced weak wood. Will never use again

The courtyard chicken coop we bought is…
The courtyard chicken coop we bought is excellent. We paid £229 plus a bit extra for fox proof wiring.
The instructions were ok and we muddled through but some clearer images would have been useful, especially when fitting the roof panels. But all the holes lined up and we got there in the end.
The delivery was excellent and it arrived quickly.
Just one thing on the website…the courtyard chicken coop, and the XL courtyard chicken coop give exactly the same measurements but the larger is £40 more.
The courtyard chicken coop £229 (May 2025) states it’s for 3 large, 4 small.
The courtyard XL (£269) states it’s suitable for 4 medium, 5 medium.
This is a bit confusing.
But otherwise we are very pleased with our purchase.
(Not sure that the fox proof bit to the wire has been applied though)

Thanks also for pointing out the confusion around the standard and XL versions of the coop. You're absolutely right , while they are very similar in footprint, the XL includes extra internal height and upgraded features, which accounts for the difference in price and capacity rating. That said, we'll review the listings to make this clearer on the site.
Regarding the fox-proof wire, it should have a heavier gauge mesh than the standard version. If you're unsure whether that was applied, please feel free to contact our customer service team at admin@coopsandhutches.co.uk and we’ll be happy to double-check for you.

Poor quality chicken house
Poor quality chicken house.
Having spent over £300 on it, we expected a quality and robust house. Very cheap, flimsy wood. Component panels dont fit flush with one another. Craftsmanship non existent.

Very poor quality for a very high price
The hutch arrived on time, however, it is cheap wood, poorly made and exceptionally small. It said it would hold 3 rabbits, but in reality it would hold just one. We have 2 so we are now looking for an alternative.
Very costly for a cheap product. Would not buy again.
already constructed but would return it in a heart beat for a full refund and purchase something more sturdy and larger for our rabbits.

Sadly this was way to small for even for one small rabbit
Sadly this was way to small for even one rabbit yet alone two middle rabbit like it is say it's for .
As a rescue I will not be considered brying any more of these or be recommend these to anyone else

Hen house and run
Purchased a new chicken coop with overnight delivery. Very speedy- can't fault the service. One of the parts was damaged, could not make contact via phone so e mailed and got a reply in a couple of hours promising replacement part in 2 days (Sat delivery). Sadly the part arrived later than hoped- though to be fair there was a bank holiday do this will have impacted. When the part arrived though, they'd sent the wrong one and so I had to wait again for a replacement despite asking for a partial refund (which I feel was fair for the inconvenience and poor service) and so that I could have got the coop repaired locally and quicker. Product itself is fair. Not great but ok.
Initially i thought the company was ok - but the response sorting out their 2nd mistake was disappointing after spending a considerable amount eith them - so I am unlikely to be a returning customer. (To add balance though...3rd time lucky, after 2 weeks, the next replacement did fit)
