I've received a broken item as it was…

I've received a broken item as it was mishandled by the courier, then I immediately emailed CP L&I's customer service. They've replied within MINUTES and resolved the issue right away and sent me the same item the day after. I will surely shop again as it gives me the assurance that this company is backed by a solid customer service. Thank you so much.

In stock lights not actually in stock

We ordered wall lights from them because the price was competitive and they appeared to be in stock online. We received a call the next morning to say that they were not in fact in stock but were being sent from Poland! The lights have now arrived - later than suggested but they look good at first glance.

Appalling Customer Service

Appalling Customer Service. Representative was abrupt and boarding on rude. The product description on their webpage is incorrect, misleading at best. Despite this rep' repeated their Returns policy, "at customer expense" refusing to acknowledge their poor labelling and error. From reading other reviews, CP Lighting work well when all goes to plan. It is when things go wrong and mistakes do and will happen that they offer absolutely zero responsibility or understanding to their customers. I will not shop with them again and suggest caution to others.

Unfair and unreasonable

I ordered several light fittings for a large hotel project in London, but thankfully, I didn't proceed with the full order. I returned two of the light fittings, and to ensure their safe return, my colleagues added extra bubble wrap to the boxes. Unfortunately, they used brown tape to secure the bubble wrap, which led CP Lighting to refuse a £1500 refund because of this.

I offered to exchange the boxes or accept a small deduction for new boxes, but my offer was declined.

I contacted Trading Standards, and they agreed that the company's terms and conditions are unfair and unreasonable. They will guide me on taking appropriate action against them.

Thank you for your feedback. We're genuinely sorry to hear you're disappointed with your experience.

We take great care in handling returns fairly and in line with our returns policy, which states that items must be returned in their original, undamaged packaging to be eligible for a refund. Unfortunately, the returned light fittings arrived with brown parcel tape applied directly to the white product boxes. This caused irreversible damage to the packaging, making the items unsellable and ineligible for return under our policy.

We understand your team may have added the tape to protect the items during transit, and we do appreciate that effort. However, because the boxes are part of the retail product presentation, we’re unable to remove the tape without tearing the packaging and, unfortunately, cannot resell the products in that condition.

We respect your right to seek further guidance, and we remain transparent and cooperative should Trading Standards wish to discuss the matter with us.

after sales not so good

three lights ordered, two had bulbs missing, emailed twice = no response, called twice = no answer
looks like I won't be getting the missing bulbs. A shame as the order process was fine and delivery quick but aftersales not so good....

1st time buyer, would buy again

Great tracked delivery with updates, arrived so fast and was wrapped really well and with a lot of care even during November sales.

Affordable prices that are better than big brands selling same products, love my lamps and would 100% shop with CP lighting again. What you see is exactly what you’re getting with great service and prices.

Beautiful lamp

Beautiful lamp. Customer service was amazing.
The delivery was a month after ordering but I thought I best email after two weeks to check on it, customer services replied within a day and I received my lamp as promised. They even phoned me to tell me when to expect delivery. The lamp was packaged extremely well and arrived in perfect condition and looked exactly like the picture, I am very pleased and would not hesitate to order from them again.

Terrible products and customer service

Poor quality items and customer service. Purchased a ceiling light and after 6 months it broke. The LED light wouldn’t work and the light just wouldn’t turn on. A replacement was sent out and it had a 1 year electrical guarantee so they had to do this as per their advertised policy. The replacement light has done exactly the same as the first one less than 1 year old from the date received, I emailed customer services to advise what had happened to be told they would not replace or refund as it only has a 1 year guarantee from ‘purchase’. So basically what they are saying is the second item I was sent had absolutely no guarantee with it at all. There is clearly an issue with the product and other reviews support this. I asked to raise a formal complaint but not got any response to our 6 emails. Extremely annoyed but getting a better product from elsewhere.

Hello,

Thank you for taking your time to leave us a review, however we feel this is a very unfair review which does not reflect your experience with us.

We can see you purchased an LED integrated light fitting from us which came with a 1 year warranty. Sadly, LED integrated lights can fail and this is completely out of our control. As your fitting failed, we sent you a free of charge replacement.

You contacted us quite a while after this (I believe around 9 months) to state that your replacement had failed. We explained that unfortunately the supplier only provides a 1 year warranty from the date of purchase. However, we did reach out to them with your comments, and we asked if they could re-consider on this occasion, and issue you with a replacement. Sadly, they would not allow this and stipulated it was against their terms and conditions.

We then explained this and passed on their comments to you, we also explained that we sadly did not have any of this fitting left within our stock so we could not provide you with a replacement out of our own stock. We also explained the supplier would not issue a replacement to us or a credit.

We answered all of your emails and provided the suppliers comments and terms and conditions. We escalated your request further as you asked us to. We took this to management and also approached the supplier again requesting them for help. They sadly declined as it was against their terms and conditions, due to this we were unable to source a further replacement for you. We passed this onto you via email reply.

As you see from other reviews on Reviews.io (our primary review platform), we have a very high rating and are known for taking ownership and caring deeply about each and every review. Poor quality. Faulty items not guaranteed

Poor quality items similar to their customer service. Purchased a ceiling light for £125 and after 6 months it broke. The LED light colour changing function wouldn’t work and the light just wouldn’t turn on. After an initial email to advise of the problem, a replacement was sent in June 2023, it had a 1 year electrical guarantee so they had to do this as per their advertised policy. Fast forward 10 months and the replacement light has done exactly the same as the first one. Still less than 1 year old from the date received, I contacted customer services to advise what had happened to be told they would not replace or refund as it only has a 1 year guarantee from ‘purchase’. So basically what they are saying is the second item I was sent had absolutely no guarantee with it at all. I could have been sent someone else’s faulty returns but that’s just tough. Therefore the product itself isn’t guaranteed. I should have just asked for a refund rather than replacement the first time. There is clearly an issue with the product as they have since discontinued it and are now trying to sell a similar one under a different name. Not what you expect when you think you are buying good quality items from a reputable business. I’d look elsewhere if I was you.

I am very sorry to hear your disappointment – this is certainly not what we wish for our customers. I have spoke with our customer service team and investigated your order for you to see what has happened. I can see you purchased your light fitting in July 2022 – you received a 1 year electrical guarantee from the supplier for this item. Your LED driver failed in June 2023 and we sent you a replacement fitting out straight away as you were within your guarantee.

As it is now April 2024 you are now unfortunately 9 months outside of your 1 year guarantee. Due to such a long time frame passing we would be unable to offer you another replacement or a refund I am afraid. Unfortunately, with LED integrated light the drivers can fail. I can confirm the one we are currently selling is a different light altogether and is by a different supplier. The one you purchased has been discontinued by the supplier as it had been released in 2020, suppliers tend to only keep light fittings and ranges available for a certain time frame before discontinuing so they can keep their products fresh and up to date with current trends.

Poor quality Laura Ashley Table

We bought an expensive £800 Laura Ashley Table from them which chipped internally after less than 2 months. For such an expensive piece you'd expect much better quality.

CP Lighting and Interior weren't interested in dealing with it or helping solve the problem.

Lesson learnt - price doesn't always mean good quality!

Thank you for posting a review and we’re so sorry to hear that your experience was not up to standards. Unfortunately because the damage was caused by yourself and it happened 2 months after the table was delivered, we are not liable at this point. If the table had arrived to you damaged or was damaged during installation we would of course offer an exchange or refund but unfortunately this warranty does not cover damages made after delivery.

We always try to help where we can – we have explained to you that we reached out again to the supplier and asked if they could kindly provide a paint kit to allow you to touch up the chip.

We are awaiting a reply from them.

Good communications and service

Ordered a light online as they were amongst the most competitive on price and had a trustworthy website. I was rung next day to advise there was quite a wait as the light was out of stock at the supplier but I was happy to wait. In the event it was delivered later that week so stock must have come in. The light was extremely well packaged and sent by a good quality courier and arrived in perfect condition.

Good communications and good service throughout. Perfectly happy with this company, I would definitely use again and recommend to others.

Avoid if you can!

We rang before ordering and were told that the item was in stock. Took nearly two months to deliver our pendant light (approx. £400-500). We had to chase three times as automated e-mails didn't give much information. Item was of poor quality on arrival and they have helped to send additional clips to put the bents in light -> straight. Two stars for customer services whereas item is probably 1 star and value for money 0.5.
