CRCC Asia Avis 19

I was sponsored by Durham University to participate in CRCC’s Seoul Programme for a month, it was by far one of the best experiences of my life. Seoul is a vibrant city with an outstanding reputation and investment in computer science and I could not recommend CRCC Asia’s programmes enough.

I worked for a company which was developing educational coding platform designed for foreigners in Korea to gain valuable programming skills to aide them in getting a job in Korea, as Project Manager I was given a lot of responsibility for oversight of the platform and ensuring it was simple and accurate. My responsibilities included reviewing educational courses in JavaScript, Java, HTML, CSS, Python, and C#; I was also able to table platform improvements and acted as a point of reference for the western market.

The programme wasn’t exclusively me working however, CRCC held lots of events for us to get to know others on the programme (including a visit to Lotte World, which is like Korean Disneyland!), there was a lot of support too including weekly support sessions (though I never needed them it was reassuring to know it was there if I needed it). The accommodation was very clean, safe, and generally pleasant - it had all the facilities you’d need including a communal kitchen (plus a microwave and fridge in your room), laundry, and a social space which is where I ended up making friends with others on the 2 month programme, some of whom I’m still in contact with, and we went out to explore what Seoul had to offer, I made lots of amazing memories with them and I certainly ended up becoming far more social having been pushed out of my comfort zone and having to adapt to a very different culture both in the workplace and in general society.

There was plenty of time for me to explore Seoul on my own too, I was able to visit various districts of the city including Gangnam as well as Seoul Tower and the Botanical Gardens to name a few - I even got to go on a tour of the DMZ - all around an amazing experience to remember and one that also aides in my career, it looks great on a CV!

I highly recommend CRCC’s programmes, go for it and you won’t regret it! At no point did I feel homesick either, there was always something to do and everyone on the programme was so friendly, there were people from my uni there too but I ended up spending more time with people on the programme from America and even my coworkers who would take me to lunch.

Most unfamiliar thing I ate:
I ate so many new foods in Korea and all of it was amazing, seafood pancakes and buckwheat noodles were what I enjoyed most and was unfamiliar, but I also went to a restaurant with friends and they served chicken feet! A bit too gristly for my liking but it was certainly unfamiliar.

Pros:
- Amazing food.
- Great for advancing your career.
- Networking opportunities.
- Cultural agility, something employers greatly value in the globalised world we live in.
- Lots of support from CRCC if you have any issues, including issues with your placement company (though I never did).
- Great community.
- Exploration and amazing for personal development.
- Seoul is very affordable, I ended up eating out for pretty much every meal!

Cons:
- My uni only sponsored me for one month, I wish I could’ve had more time!
- Last minute my initial company backed out with no warning, but CRCC quickly reassigned me with the company I mentioned above.

Really I have no complaints about my time in Seoul, CRCC were amazing all around and I made a lot of great memories and I hope I can go back one day!

The internships were quite challenging, but I learned a lot. I also made lifelong friends from all over the world!

I had the chance to go on an experience program through CRCC Asia in Seoul, South Korea (so a bit different than the typical internship) as my school had a partnership with them, and it was a truly wonderful experience in the sense that my program had a mixture of cultural activities, academic experiences (corporate site visits in my case as my program was business-focused), and chances to interact with locals. The CRCC Asia staff coordinated to meet my group and me at the airport and transported us to our hotel, and all tickets for attractions and transportation included in the program itinerary were covered by the one-time initial program fee. Moreover, the staff were super knowledgeable on the area we stayed in, and they were able to recommend restaurants and local places to visit during our free time in the evenings. The experiences included in the itinerary all felt very well-thought-out to maximize both learning and fun, and I never felt uncomfortable getting around Seoul even without knowing Korean as the staff were always available to call or text at any point. I would definitely recommend anyone interested about culture to consider taking part in a CRCC Asia experience program, which from my understanding can be registered for independently from or as an add-on to the more traditional internship programs that the company provides. Super wonderful time that will surely be the highlight of my college experience!

Interning in Japan has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I gained firsthand experience working within a company focused on pharmaceutical development, where I conducted research and contributed findings to help further refine their models from a biological perspective. As someone with no prior research background, this experience taught me how to research efficiently, an invaluable skill I will carry with me throughout my future career.

Living in Japan and immersing myself in such a different culture was one of the most diverse and enriching experiences I have had to date. It significantly contributed to my personal growth and adaptability, giving me the confidence to live and work anywhere in the world. The kindness and welcoming nature of the Japanese people left a lasting impression, and I gained a deep appreciation for the culture while strengthening my cross-cultural communication skills through this experience.

Career Options, Connections, Talent-development

These are the three things that developed for me. As a multimedia artist, I've always thought I would just be working at a creative firm for games and advertising. But with CRCC Asia, I was able to see the future of art and technology. It was more than what I was learning in school and that showed me the industries that I can work for and be accepted. Regarding the company that I was working with, they were truly happy with my performance and even shared that they are happy to work with me in the future after graduation.

With the connections I've made, I believe I became someone who's become sociable. I was usually quiet, but with the diversity in the workplace, I changed for the better. It was a personal and career development for me which I truly value and believe that being more open to change, changes you for the better. I cannot express how life-changing that is for me because even the littlest things like my habits dramatically changed. I became little parts of the lovely people I was working with, and I miss them very much, and I believe I brought their habits and way in life back to my home country.

Working as an intern in Japan was an unforgettable experience that helped me grow both professionally and personally. The work culture was very different from what I was used to, with a strong focus on discipline, teamwork, and respect. At first, adjusting to the language and workplace expectations was challenging, but my coworkers were patient and supportive, which made the experience more comfortable.

Outside of work, I had the chance to fully experience Japanese culture. I participated in a traditional tea ceremony, which taught me the importance of patience and attention to detail. I also visited the Osaka Museum of History, where I learned more about the city’s rich past and modern development. Living in a student apartment was another memorable part of the experience, as it helped me become more independent and connect with other international students. Overall, the internship gave me valuable skills, cultural awareness, and lifelong memories.

lovely group, I did extracurricular activities with the team of Gabby, Jessie and Toay and they really knew the best parts of Tokyo, they have the best opportunities for fun aswell as being very sweet and kind people. I had a great experience vert informative and organized.

My time studying and interning abroad in Vietnam was amazing. I learned to be more independent, navigate a foreign country, made some life long friendships and successfully studied and worked. I believe this experience prior to my junior year was what gave me an edge to have my next summer internship and land a full time position offering for My 2026 graduation.

Taking part in the CRCC Asia program in Beijing was genuinely one of the best experiences of my life. Being fully immersed in Chinese culture made every day exciting, whether I was navigating the busy streets, chatting with locals, or practising simple Mandarin during our language lessons. I worked at a marketing agency, which gave me hands-on insight into how creative projects are developed in a fast-paced, competitive environment. The team I worked with was incredibly welcoming, and I learned far more than I ever expected to in such a short time.

CRCC organised everything so smoothly — SIM cards, accommodation, transport, cultural activities and even small day-to-day details that made settling in easy. One of the highlights was the trip to the Great Wall of China, which was absolutely breathtaking. I also ate some of the most amazing food I’ve ever had. Overall, I would recommend CRCC Asia to anyone looking for an unforgettable international experience.

To this date, I still think about the amazing time I had with the CRCC Asia Shanghai Internship Programme. Did a 6 week internship with a 2 week business and finance course prior to the internship with 1 week in shanghai and the next in Beijing. The organisation of the course was very well planned and learnt so much about the work life in China. The internship placement was really good as I got to work with both Audit and Marketing. This was a good opportunity to develop a lot of soft/transferable skills which has really helped me with career development and job hunt post uni. I would 100% recommend going with CRCC for internship programmes as they have opened the branch to many other cities/countries across the world. It's also a good opportunity to connect and network with a wide variety of friends and professionals.

Was an amazing experience

Fantastic, interesting internship, well-located accommodation for exploring Beijing, and great induction activities, to enable you to meet the rest of the cohort. I would thoroughly recommend this for anyone interested in work experience abroad and being able to travel in the weekends/holidays.

The company I worked for was great. I had a lot of flexibility not only in my role, but also in the ability to travel and really immerse myself in the culture and people there. I got to try things I never would've thought to do, and now have new friends globally that I can't wait to visit in the future! This experience has meant everything to me. The ability to interact and engage in so many parts of the culture! Every staff member was on point, and amazingly sweet. Any questions were always answered and curiosity was fully engaged and even encouraged! I absolutely loved the way CRCC Asia handled everything! I also enjoyed learning from students and teaching them a bit of english! And getting to see how green tea is made and roasted was amazing! The down time to freely engage with Japan outside of planned events and work was a huge bonus as well!

I spent the summer of 2025 in Tokyo, Japan. I left reassured that the CRCC Asia team would help me out on my arrival. After two months of exploring different parts of Japan, I came home with a million stories, memories, and life long friends. CRCC Asia gave me my dream summer internship.

I participated in CRCC Asia Summer 2024 program in Tokyo, Japan. Overall, I loved my time as a CRCC intern. I had the opportunity to meet other interns from around the globe while also had the chance to meet and talk with people that live and work in Japan. I really enjoyed my experience in Tokyo my favorite part of the CRCC internship program was the cultural events as this allowed me to learn more and appreciate Japanese culture. Throughout my process of enrolling into this program, meeting host companies, sitting interviews, and working with my host company, the staff were always with me if I ever needed assistance. The staff have been genuinely lovely and supportive and I really appreciate their kindness. I am delighted to have completed this program, it was my dream to live and work in Tokyo. This program really helped me get a feeling for Tokyo living, appreciate the culture, work in the environment and meet some of the nicest people! I would highly recommend this program to anyone interested in living and working abroad for a period of time:)

In the summer of 2024, I completed a 1 month international internship in Japan (Kansai) at a biotech company known as COGNANO.During the week I had the opportunity to immerse myself in a working environment completing experiments,reports exploring different laboratories and even being granted the opportunity to see their aquatic research facility. Alongside exploring the work culture I got to experience the local culture and scenery especially during the weekend from various weekend activities provided by CRCC Asia like food cooking classes, exploring national earthquake museum and even samurai class.

Alongside this whole internship program I got to meet other interns from around the world and hang out and explore the area together so at no point I felt alone or lost.This was also helped form CRCC Asia’s continuous support during the whole program from being provided with an English supervisor throughout my stay and they welcoming greeting from all my peers. This overall experience was a once in a lifetime opportunity which has left me with life long friends and even soon my coworkers from COGNANO are coming to visit the UK and will be meeting up with them shortly.

I cannot thank CRCC Asia and everyone I met during my stay from other interns and my colleagues at COGNANO for allowing me to experience a once in a lifetime opportunity and for also being a bridge for me to experience more opportunities in the future like my internship I completed this summer in China using the experiences I had gathered from this experience. This wouldn’t have been at all possible if I hadn’t grasped at the opportunity that CRCC Asia presented me so I can’t recommend this internship enough after all that it has provided me so if any of you are having any considerations about proceeding all I can say is go for it 👊
