Dancing Leopard Avis 770

I feel sorry for the original owners having to sell out to stay in business. Dancing Leopard always had a cult following and I, and it seems many others, didn’t mind paying a bit extra for beautifully designed pieces that were well made. I have nothing against SHEIN per se, but I felt DL was always a step above. Now I have to scour Vinted to get some preloved items that I know will be good quality.

Extremely disappointed with my experience with Dancing Leopard. The quality has gone downhill massively.

I placed a nearly £300 order on 3rd May and despite the company stating a 5–8 day delivery timeframe, my order wasn't even shipped until 12th May (after I had chased!) and arrived on 20th May. To make matters worse, the tracking showed it being shipped with SHEIN in China, despite the delay already being far beyond what was expected.

When the order finally arrived, 3 items were missing and every single item I did receive was poor quality. The stitching is awful with loose threads and unfinished seams, the fabric feels very cheap, and some items already looked like they were falling apart straight out of the package. I would attach photos if I could because the quality speaks for itself.

Now I’m expected to return everything and pay the return costs myself despite receiving items that I believe are not of satisfactory quality. This is extremely frustrating after waiting so long and receiving products that look nothing like the standard I expected.

I used to like this brand but after this experience I won’t be ordering again and would not recommend it based on my experience.

I have bought from Dancing Leopard many times over the years and usually love the clothes as they were so different from anywhere else, the quality was great and was happy to pay the higher price for this. I was suprised last time I ordered by how much cheaper everything was but when it eventually arrived today I could see why. Prices have been lowered and quality has been lowered dramatically in line. So disappointing and such a huge shame.

Dancing Leopard used to be my go to for quality outfits, the brand has seen me through wedding guest outfits, Ascot, parties etc. Although they were on the expensive side, it was well worth it.

I hadn’t realised at check out that this has changed, I thought I’d done well securing sale items. It wasn’t until the delivery details came through that the items were coming from China and I looked back through the website I realised the portfolio change.

The items arrived and they’re cheap, ill fitting rubbish. I don’t shop on Shein and this is why and now I’m gutted DL has gone the same way.

I was so pleasantly surprised with the quality of what I ordered! Honestly as good as if not better than a lot of high street pieces I've bought recently. Bought a few satin dresses for wedding season and they're just gorgeous - will definitely be buying again x

I have just had 4 dresses delivered and I was very apprehensive after reading other reviews but oh my goodness I'm absolutely blown away by how lovely they are. Quality is very good for the price of these dresses and they fit to your size perfectly I am a very happy customer and wouldn't hesitate to order again ❤️

Not good. So sad, used to buy all the time. Sizes now tiny and quality really poor. Bye bye fav brand :(

I’m so sad! My wardrobe has been consistently filled with the dancing leopard items. As per other posts my most recent package was delivered in a SHEIN bag (a company I refuse to order from due to their unsustainable policies), the quality of the garments are now well below the quality I used to know and expect from dancing leopard. Fabric is flimsy and see through. Bad cuts and quality. Unless you like SHEIN - I would avoid ordering from them.

Was a previously loyal customer. Received my most recent purchase at uk high street prices to receive my parcel after 14 days waiting as it arrived from China and was in Shein packaging. DL will respond saying they linked up with them as a supplier for packaging only but that’s not true. The same factory as shein produces the clothing hence the location it’s coming from and hence the horrifically dreaded cheap fabrics. Not what I paid for. I will never return to dancing leopard now.

If you think you’re buying from the old DL- things have changed! I did not agree to china delivery and quality

This company is not what it used to be.

I’ve had many items of clothing from the ‘old’ Dancing Leopard - all great quality and worth the higher price tag.

The lower prices should have been a massive red flag, instead I thought I was getting a bargain. I have kept only one thing of four that I ordered. The sizes are all off, the quality is poor and although they were upfront that their logistics were being provided by SHEIN, it wasn’t made clear that the products were now being shipped from china and would take longer to arrive.

I note in their responses to other poor reviews they keep stating that the products are ‘still designed in the uk’ - that may be the case but it’s a rather disingenuous response when the products are now made in china which they never used to be (one of my old items states ‘made in India’)

I understand the company has been in some difficulties which is regrettable and I would have been sad to see it close, but this is not the right way forwards - you have lost a long term in customer in me, as I’m sure you have in many other too. I hope to see you return to your original glory in the future.

Have quite a few items from dancing leopard that I love. I noticed my recent order came from shein. Very disappointed. If I wanted Shein clothes I would order them , I’d rather pay more for better quality lasting pieces.
I have the Harley skirt in black it’s a classic that I wear time and time again so I purchased the Harley silver - totally different skirt that I won’t be keeping .

I need to write on here because I am really impressed with the quality. After reading some of the reviews I was dubious. I am really quite fussy so I feel it should be voiced that I personally think the quality is good and is a per the photos you see! Okay it comes through Shein as a courier but to me the quality is really good!

A long time Dancing Leopard fan here with many a dress in the wardrobe! Like a few other people I ordered a dress, noticed it was a lot cheaper than other times I’ve ordered but thought I’d bagged a clearance bargain perfect for an upcoming wedding. But sadly it’s not the case, delivery took 14 days, so over the 5-8days after despatch as mentioned, which ultimately the dress didn’t arrive in time for when I needed it but that’s on me - could have ordered earlier but with my past experience with DL everything was smooth so I didn’t think! Quality-wise it’s probably in line with the £17 pricing, the thought that has previously gone into dresses just doesn’t seem to be there, the zip is snaggy, the material is a lower quality feel and the lining is only up top, is loose and folds on itself so you can see wrinkles in it, the darts on the dress don’t cinch in the right places and one is a good inch higher than the other side (maybe great if you’ve got a wonky pair??) Even down to the labels inside - sounds small, there used to be clear consideration on the material and placement so they wouldn’t be itchy or show and that’s not the case here. I’d say it’s on par with a dress you’d get from Shein or a cheap high street but it’s no where near what I’ve come to expect from Dancing Leopard. I did however take an old DL dress to the wedding to wear instead - so at least I’ve got my back catalogue!

I’m hoping they make a comeback and will keep an eye out to see if reviews change but for now I wouldn’t recommend if you were after the same DL quality as previous years.

So basically for all those like myself, who've always loved Dancing Leopard, it does not exist anymore! Since their "relaunch" earlier this year, it is basically Shein, but worse quality. I ordered a bikini top a few weeks ago, as the bikinis I've ordered from Dancing leopard in the past, have always been my favourites. Fab fit and beautiful quality. After 9 days and I hadn't heard anything, I contacted customer services, which is when the dissapointment began. I was reluctantly informed that the orders now come from China and that they use the same company as Shein. My parcel arrived (2 weeks after ordering) in Shein packaging, and as I feared, the bikini top is absolutely nothing like anything from the former Dancing leopard. It's poor quality and a ridiculous fit. Baggy across the back and barely covers your nipples at the front. If I'd wanted to buy a bikini from Shein, I would have done, but I didn't, so ordered from Dancing leopard and still got some cheap tat from China! This company is now disingenuous and a total scam. Insinuating it's still Dancing leopard, when it couldn't be anything further from it.
It's all very well the nice lady replying on here under the 1*reviews, but at the end of the day she herself works for a disingenuous company and is being paid to shaft people, so take anything she has to say, with a pinch of salt. She knows exactly what's going on! I'm just glad I didn't spend a lot of money with them, as others have mentioned, they make it as difficult as possible for you to return.. As well as having the audacity to charge you!

Used to love Dancing Leopard for their quality, so this was really disappointing. After months of the store being closed, I found out they now manufacture and dispatch from China.

My order arrived in a SHEIN bag, which immediately raised concerns about sourcing and ethics.

The top itself was also very small for the size and felt cheaply made — nothing like the quality they used to have.

I won’t be purchasing again.

Avoid!! Just awful and not the same as it used to be. It now comes from China / Shein - delivery took almost 3 weeks. Quality is very poor and have to return the items via an archaic system. Never again!

I absolutely loved the original Dancing Leopard! Great quality, fantastic design.

I just received my order and am quite shocked by poor design, stitching quality and misalignment of the pieces.

Please don’t bring shame to original company and stop selling under the name as this is clearly not the same clothing brand.

Cheap. Tacky and frankly Disgusting with misleading advertisement

Previously a customer and always loved the quality of the clothes. Ordered 3 dresses which have arrived and are very poor quality. After looking at reviews on Facebook it seems that the company was sold. The quality of clothes is equivalent to SHEIN, which is fine but not when you’re expecting more. Will not be ordering again. You have to pay for returns too and takes up to 25 days for refund - avoid!

I have been a long standing customer of dancing leopard! I love their clothes! So I was so happy to see that they were back! DL has always been my go to!! I ordered 2 dresses for a wedding and also the blaze jumpsuit which I have previously bought in every colour! I noticed the pricing was so much cheaper and then once I ordered I realised it was coming from China, naturally I started to worry thinking the quality is not going to be what I’m used to! Turned out I am very happy! The delivery arrived in 6 days and the quality was great. I compared my blaze jumpsuit to my other ones and there is no difference! Just half the price! I will definitely carry on ordering from DL! Don’t listen to the other reviews! The quality is great, yes delivery takes a little longer but in my opinion it’s worth the wait! Thank you DL ❤️
