We know sound. As a company that’s been in the business of sound for over 100 years, you could say we’re more than a bit obsessed with good-quality sound. We’ve studied over 4,000 pairs of ears to design headphones that adapt to the unique shape of...

I’ve gone to five Denon a review and…
I’ve gone to five Denon a review and surprise surprise they have an average rating of 1.6. Wish I had seen this before taking out a subscription (they deserve lower).
Do not go with denon. Impossible to cancel, broken system, zero support.
Signed up for a subscription and have been trying to cancel. Their login system doesn't recognise my email, the forgot password link sends nothing, and the one-time passcode never arrives, making it completely impossible to access my own account.
When I contacted support, the cancellation links they sent were broken, returning an "Invalid value provided for query param be_id" error.
On top of this, a promotional voucher was never applied to my account despite confirmation it would be. I have had to threaten reporting them to Trading Standards and the ICO just to get any response, and even then, no resolution.
I have had to formally notify them that I am cancelling the direct debit myself, as they have given me no other option. I am still waiting on a return address for the hardware.
This is not a functional consumer service. If you are considering going with them, be aware that getting out is far harder than getting in.
By the way Denon, it is against the law to make it difficult for users to access their data, will be reporting for this as well.
Deactivated my devices as I didn't agree to pay a 55% subscription increase
Paid a £9 NuraNow subscription for 6 years for 2 devices (no upgrade since 2021) and after Denon took over, they gave me the ultimatum of paying a 55% increase in my subscription or have all my devices locked. I argued that the 2 devices had more than been paid off after 6 years of monthly subscription payments, so rather than disposing of the hardware as they advised me to do (bad for customer service and environment), could they see sense and unlock the devices for me to use and potentially buy more devices off them in future. They refused. The devices went into the bin. Classic case of spiting the customer as no one wins in this scenario.
Day light robbery...
I bought a set of headphones from "nura" before denon bought the company. Denon then continued to charge me monthly instalments after the finished amount as a "subscription" even tho I didnt ask for anything of the sort. I cancelled it and now I have spent hundreds of pounds for a set of headphones and a set of earphones which has now been rendered useless, because I dont have the subscription they remotely deactived the devices...
Worst Experience!
Their service is worst ever! They do not care about commitment. It's been nearly 6 months now, they failed to fix my Denon PMA SX11. They took months to diagnose the issue and when they gave me a list of parts for me to manage which I found and given to them, but yet couldn’t fix it. After a pause of few months, they gave another list of parts to manage which I am still struggling to find. I spoke to Denon, but was not in any help. I have no idea whether they have ever fixed this Japanese model or took mine as an experimental unit for their upskilling. I paid $3200+ and paid nearly £400 VAT. I simple understanding is , SST officially represents Denon and my product is of Denon brand, manufactured in Japan, so why this is so hard for SST to contact with their Japanese manufacturer for any help. I really do not have any more words to express my frustration

Stupidity prevails!
The sound from my Denon soundbar is fantastic. What I absolutely HATE is the 15 minute automatic power down when the soundbar detects no input, meaning you have to turn the Soundbar back on again EVERY BLOODY TIME. So a tea break or toilet trip is a race against the clock! As far as I can tell, there is no way to turn off this absolutely useless feature!
Sorry Denon, no more purchases of your products!
AV Amplifier decides to update in the middle of vewing
Really annoyed with the fact that system updates seem more important than the user using the equipment. Twice now has my amp cut out and decided to update right in the middle of us watching something. I have had many Yamaha AV receivers for years and never has this happened. It's not like it is for a few minutes one update was 25 mins. Denon you need to give your software engineers a poke in the ear this is not acceptable. How about asking if it's ok first not just randomly at any time. I don't think I'll be buying another one of your products if this is how they behave I mean even Window asks before sitting down your computer.
If you considering a Denon AV receivers erm don't it'll do your head in.
people talk about Heos being no good
people talk about Heos being no good, if you have a fast internet connection no problem.Get a better internet provider.
HEOS is a complete pile of...
I'm sure Denon are great at audio engineering, but they are obviously completely clueless about software. I have never seen a system fail as frequently as HEOS - roughly twice a week I have to completely restart my speaker and reconnect it. The app isn't programmed to remember anything, so it treats the speaker as a completely new device that it has never seen before every single time. It is a tedious and time consuming process, particularly when you have to do it so often. Safe to say I am never buying another Denon product again.
Avoid at all costs
The speakers are absolutely fabulous and the sound is terrific, but oh my God the Heos app is the biggest pile of rubbish.
I've spent over £1k on this system and the app turns the speakers into very expensive paper weights.
Constantly disconnecting from Wi-Fi, you've got it.
Speakers constantly unpairing from the system, you've got it
Having to reboot speakers individually in order to get them to reconnect almost weekly, you've got it.
Disconnecting from all of the streaming apps frequently, you've got it.
Delayed playback from live devices as the system has to go through the internet in order to play, you've got it.
Even though I've spent so much money on the speakers, I'm seriously considering putting them all in the bin and starting again with Bose who have none of these issues.
Utter garbage Heos app and support
Whatever you do, don't buy anything from Denon that requires using the Heos app. The app is absolute junk. It's not worked correctly once since enjoying my Home 150 speakers. Not once.
The customer service at Denon also don't care that their Heos app is utter garbage. You can complain day in day out for months and years, and they will never do anything to fix the issues with their app.
Denon customer Service ?
Denon.. returned most of my purchased Denon equipment to the shop for a refund.. still using a Denon home surround sound .. with a pair of 150’s laying on the floor.!! What’s happened to your speaker wall mounts Denon ??
I’ve emailed Denon repeatedly and am yet to receive a reply. Your customer service is non existent!!!

Denon M41 DAB. Yet another bluetooth failure
Denon M41 DAB bluetooth fault
I have 3 of these all bought 4 or more years ago. 1 bought new. 2 bought used, one of which I knew had a bluetooth fault. Cannot remember if it is the good used one or the bought new one, its bluetooth has stopped working. Asked a technician how much to fix. He said £90. I did not fix it.
I bought 2 bluetooth tx rx dinky boxes on Ebay £6 each, they plug into analogue in. 1 fitted to a Denon M38 that never had bluetooth and 1 to the used M41 with know fault. Both units receive bluetooth perfectly. Now need to buy another bluetooth dongle. Or maybe 2 more so I have a spare when the bluetooth fails on the last one I still have that works properly.
Why are there so many M41's with bluetooth fault/failures? Will not be buying this make again, even though the sound with the Denon speaks is excellent
Very poor reputation for reliability
Very poor reputation for reliability. My two year old Denon rcd-m41dab failed recently (CD tray won't open, Bluetooth won't function) and on researching online I discovered this is a common fault with the main board - much too common for what claims to be a quality hifi brand.
Bought a new X3800H receiverrs frustratingly
Bought a new X3800H receiver. Referred to US website to download a product manual. Manual available to download does not accurately reflect my 2023 UK product. Unable to check and adjust product settings without the correct manual for my product. Time spent going nowhere to resolve problems with digital handshake to TV. Yours frustratingly.
Denon sound quality outstrips bigger and more expensive rivals!
Denon is simply wonderful I have the Mini CEOL N-11 Hi-Fi DAB receiver with SCN speakers the 150 and 250 wireless speakers in other rooms and the DST S716H sound bar and being a constant listener to music throughout the day and half the night I am delighted with the great sound quality the excellent connection between receiver and speakers all over the apartment the now smooth-running streaming through TuneIn Radio of BBC who were threatening to stop the service and force us to use BBC Sounds (thank you Denon for updating the software and eliminating the threat) The ease of use with Bluetooth and WiFi to connect any other phone or iPad player, the excellent CD player and the Sound Bar which enhances the TV sound are all amazing. Small and taking up little space this tuner and player with all the speakers are giants and impress all visitors and friends, some saying the sound quality is far better than far bigger and more expensive rivals.
DENON RCD-M41DAB mini system
I had the previous model (M40?) and it lasted 15 years, travelling round Europe in a van, before the CD player stopped working. Bought the RCD-M41DAB based on the latest reviews.
I was disappointed from day one. Right from unpacking the radio didn't work. Sevenoaks Hi-Fi very kindly (at their expense) sent me a replacement, but that didn't work either. Yet a cheap transistor radio I have picks up all the stations fine. So I guess the radio/ aerial is crap for starters.
Next the CD player started skipping then actually scratching disks. I lost eight that way. Then it gave up altogether.
After that the power light stopped working.
Contacted DENON SUPPORT and they told me to contact the retailer, who told me it wouldn't be worth repairing, cheaper to buy a new one. By the way, DENON SUPPORT by email is totally run by AI, so don't even bother.
I ended up throwing it away, along with the £198 I paid for it. I will NEVER buy anything by DENON again.
SO DO NOT BE TEMPTED BY THE REVIEWS. This unit is total crap and DENON simply don't care that it is.
