Established in 2002, Douglas Metal Finishing Limited is one of the leading chrome platers and metal finishing companies in Great Britain. We specialise in the restoration of classic car and motorcycle parts and work with restoration garages across the UK, Ireland, and Europe, but our expertise doesn’t stop there. From bathroom shops, plumbers and well-known tap and shower manufacturers, medical equipment, electrical and boat manufacturers and the general public, we plate for them all. We are the finisher of choice for a bathroom manufacturer who has been appointed manufacturer of kitchen and bathroom taps and mixers to the late H M the Queen, so our quality is seen in all the nicest places. From the minute you contact us, you will know that you are dealing with a professional Company. We believe that our customers have a right to the highest possible standards of quality and service. This is reflected in everything we do, from single items through to major projects from multinational companies. We carry out triple plate chroming, using only the very best available chemistry. We offer a range of colour finishes, including chrome, black chrome, nickel, gold, copper, bronze in polished, bright, satin, brushed, matt and weathered effect finishes. We are committed to achieving the highest standard of finish possible. All of our work is carried out by hand using the same labour-intensive methods originally used to finish the bright work of sought after classics and vintage marques. Unlike many companies, we do our own polishing and electroplating on the same site to enable us to keep tight control of quality. Supplier issues? We can also source and supply a range of bespoke parts and offer storage on site. They rechromed my gold bath taps perfectly. A small job which made a huge difference to my bathroom. The job was done quickly at a reasonable cost. Very pleasant and helpful staff.

Restored Marchal Amplilux headlamp
You restored the two reflectors for my Marchal Amplilux headlamp. They were in poor condition, with dissimilar metals, dents and rust. I didn't expect perfect restoration, which would have been unrealistic. You did restore them to excellent working condition and, once reassembled, the headlamp looks and functions as new. Very happy with the results. Shipping from/to the US and the VAT the UK added far exceeded your price, but it was worth the investment.
