I had my surgery with Op. Dr. Mahmut Doğan on February 29, 2024. According to the doctor’s medical indications, I underwent a sleeve resection together with gallbladder removal during the same operation.

My starting weight was 161.5 kg. During the first year after surgery, I lost 70 kg. Later, I also had plastic surgery - an abdominoplasty and to remove excess skin. As of today, my total weight loss is 85 kg.

My experience with the clinic was truly wonderful. Everything was very well organized from the very beginning. I was met at the airport, supported throughout my stay, and the care continued until the moment I returned home. The medical team and staff were attentive, professional, and supportive during the entire process.

This surgery has completely changed my life, and I am very grateful to Op. Dr. Mahmut Doğan and the whole team for their professionalism and care.

Kerem is an excellent communicator and organised the best care for me in Turkey and also following up when I got home to Australia.
The whole process was smooth, straightforward, and timely.
I had a visit from the doctor the day after surgery, which was lovely.
The staff at the hospital were fabulous and so sweet and caring.

I had my surgery just over 3 years ago now. I have lost around 46kg, although I fluctuate 1 or 2 up and down naturally. I have maintained now for 2 and a half years which I’m pleased with.
Life looks slightly different but it’s my new normal - I still wait 30 minutes after eating or I fell uncomfortable, I still don’t drink fizzy drinks, and I still take Lansoprazole daily prescribed by my GP. I also get b12 injections every 3 months via the gp.
Portions are still relatively small on a side plate with protein and veg, minimal carbs as there’s just no point, unless I fancy a few bites of something, then I will.
100% happy with what I’ve done, would I do it again- absolutely! Confidence and clothes are a thing!

I highly recommend Dr Mahmut Dogan and his Team they are so professional from the airport transfers to the surgery table and accommodation. Honestly in my opinion their health system is better than Australia and New Zealand hands down🙏

With my experience i couldn't believe how quick all my testing results were captured. For people like myself and their are so many others in countries like Australia and New Zealand they ask you to lose a lot of weight with my situation 100kgs before they would do any procedure on me.
Where Dr Mahmut accepted and done my procedure straight away meaning i needed help right there and then and Dr Mahmut and his Team delivered.

My name is Karina Taveras, I traveled from the Dominican Republic to have my gastric sleeve surgery on March 25.

From the very beginning, my experience was exceptional. Yestela, who guides patients before surgery, was incredibly kind and supportive. She answered every single question I had, no matter the time, always available, always patient. Everything was clear and transparent, and her constant follow-up and attention to detail made me feel accompanied and confident from day one.

When I arrived at Liv Hospital, I felt cared for at all times. The entire presurgery process was smooth and comfortable. Honestly, I was amazed, both Dr. Mahmut’s team and the nurses treated me as if I were the only patient in the hospital. Thinking about them still makes me emotional, because the way they treated me was so warm, so genuine, that I truly miss them.

As for Dr. Mahmut Dogan, I can only say wonderful things. To me, he is the best doctor in the world. His approach is kind, close, and human, exactly how every doctor should be. You can feel his passion and love for what he does. He was always checking on me, making sure I was okay, and visiting me with a smile, asking how I felt. I will be forever grateful to him.

And finally, Buse, the dietitian, has been incredible after my discharge. She has answered all my questions and provided detailed guidance for this new lifestyle, which has made a huge difference in my recovery and adaptation.

In summary, the entire process was very well organized from start to finish, which made everything much easier and more manageable. I would trust this team with my life again 100%.💜

Very disappointed with my experience with this doctor. The lack of professionalism is clearly noticeable. The communication is cold, disrespectful, and above all, there is no real consideration for the patient.

I did not feel heard or taken seriously. For a clinic that is supposed to inspire trust, this is truly disappointing.

I absolutely do not recommend this place. There are far better options elsewhere.

My experience was awesome but the only small hiccup is communicating with the nurses. But the first night arriving one of the nurses wasn’t doing a good job at putting the needle in my wrist and he surely bruised up my wrist. Didn’t see him after that during the rest of my time there
Dr Dogan and his crew were awesome tho. Hospital was nice and spacious with a great view. The hotel was good too.

I cannot recommend Dr Dogan highly enough. From my very first consultation through to my gastric sleeve surgery and follow-up care, I felt completely supported, informed, and safe.

The best experience I’ve had and Doctor Dogan and his team were supportive and professional. You couldn’t ask for a better person to help you make the best decision for your health.

For me I rate it a 5/5 experience. There was a language barrier but the nursing staff, all staff actually, were accommodating and patient with me. They always took the time to make sure I understood what was happening and made me feel well looked after.

So grateful that I chose to do my procedure through Dr Mahmut Doghan & the Team in Istanbul, the communication throughout the beginningbof the process & after has been brilliant. And my healing has going very well. Contact with his Dietition with with questions & correspondence has helped me in this journey with recipes to chose from. Absolutely amazing service from beginning to end. Nothing to fault. Communication with everyone is spot on and on time. Transport arrangements and accomodations, nothing to fault. The doctor is very professional and friendly. Nurses did have to use translating services, but some of the nicest people. I'm black, so i thought I'd have a different situation, but, nope, i don't recall any ounce of racism or discrimination. Everyone was absolutely friendly even the cleaners too. Beautiful hospital, clean. Great cafe downstairs, i suggest you have a coffee there before surgery. I still dream of it lol. 10/10 everything.
