ECH recently installed 12 solar panels and a battery storage system to compliment this. Our overall experience from initial enquiry to a finished and operational system has been extremely positive. Polite and helpful office staff backed up by an installation team who did their job quickly and efficiently to a very high standard. We would not hesitate to recommend ECH to anyone who is thinking of having solar or battery storage installed. Thank you Carl and the rest of the team.

our roof started leaking at the first rain after the panels installations, having no luck getting someone from EHL fixing the damage caused I've know contacted a roofer which quoted me 17 grands to fix the roof which was clearly broken by the installation of the solar panels (felt damaged, broken tiles, water leaking in)

Absolutely avoid

Great company to deal with, quickly sorted our requirements and provided a good range of options to help us select the most appropriate system to meet our needs. First class fitting and set up, providing us with a great product that has already shown savings on our electricity bill.

A very positive experience from beginning to end. Carl, the main contact, has been very quick to respond to all questions and came up with a very good and economic proposed system including 14 panels and a 10kwh dual battery system.

The install went smoothly overall. Nick, the electrician, did a very neat job installing all the controls and the battery system in the garage. The roofing team did a neat job installing all the panels on one roof with minimal disruption.

We did have an initial problem with battery system not working as expected but this was fixed within a day by some remote configuration by the battery supplier.

I would highly recommend ECH as a solar installation company.

I did not have the opportunity to follow through with my purchase. Carl cancelled my order. His reason: I was rude in my email communication to him. Looking through my emails, I can see one particular email where he felt I was not being polite. In my defence, Carl was making many mistakes in his final quotes and emails and I was naturally frustrated with his attention to detail.

Trying to restore communication, I sent him 2 apology emails (which I'm not sure I really needed to do) and tried to call 3 times with no success. The disappointing part is that Carl was super helpful and friendly in the beginning but became overly sensitive and defensive when I asked a few direct questions..at no point did he apologise for sending me so many incorrect quotes….

Looking at some of the reviews, it seems other people have had similar experiences where Carl gets overwhelmed with communication and then is not able to take his emotions out of the conversation and respond in a professional way. So, it seems like I am lucky to have missed out on a potential bad aftercare experience..especially if something were to go wrong.

I have now found another supplier who was incredibly helpful and was able to manage all communications in a professional way.

Our experience with ECH has been very positive throughout, from our initial enquiries through to installation last Thursday. Carl gave us helpful and very balanced, objective advice to ensure we got a solar panel array which matched our particular needs. We provided photos of our roof indicating the sunshine pattern throughout the day and we also had a survey on site a week before installation which confirmed the layout required and enabled us to address any further questions. The installers Ryan and Lloyd did a great job on the day and were most helpful, polite and professional. As was Joe, the electrician. A phone call with David, at ECH, on the day ensured we were able to get bird mesh fitted as a last minute addition which will offer protection against nesting under the solar panels. Carl has made clear that he is happy to provide ongoing advice and support if and when needed.

All in all we have been very impressed and happy with our experience and it’s good to see the benefits of solar energy reducing our electricity costs straight away.

ECH have been fantastic, priced up a very fair deal and have been responsive to my many questions. Carl and David have helped me to navigate the many choices to make the right decision and I’m now well equipped to navigate this fuel crisis and saving 60% from my previous fuel cost resulting in a relatively cost neutral installation. There were also some last minute changes due to supply / availability of parts and Carl quickly adapted the order to keep the install on track. We didn’t have a survey which meant I wasn’t informed on where the panels went (and hope they’re positioned correctly to withstand a potential chalet conversion next door) and hope that the panels and battery continue to perform as they are so far. I have had my install since October last year but never got round to putting a review. I’ve read a few of the negative comments and honestly surprised. Carl has been fantastic throughout the process. Aaron the installer is superb. They had an issue with battery supply which delayed the battery install but I could see that was happening to all suppliers. I would highly recommend and have done.

Just had a solar installation completed by ECH. Amazing experience from start to finish, from the initial order process, right through to the finishing touches. The engineers on site were professional and confident and completed the job to a high standard. Anyone that is contemplating a solar installation should look no further than ECH.

I had very little knowledge of Solar prior to taking the plunge with ECH Group and did not know what to expect. I had done my research and knew kind of what I wanted. I am glad I chose ECH, based partly on reviews and partly on what they could offer. The surveyor came and, I was given a date and shortly afterwards I was given date for installation. It all happened quickly and ECH were very efficient. The system that I have does what I want and all the paperwork was handled by them. I am glad that they made it easy for me and would definitely recommend.

I am very satisfied with the installation of solar panels and EV charger by ECH. The initial response was quick and the installation completed on time.
The installers were friendly and efficient despite working in challenging weather conditions.

AVOID!! I have been threatened by ECH to remove my review or face a libel suit for thousands of pounds. Therefore the below review is based on fact of the experience I received of which I have email trails to prove. I was due to have an installation this Friday 8th. I received the works order 2nd April 2022 confirming the cost I had been quoted by Carl Hughes 18th January less the VAT originally quoted, with the original quote comes a list of FAQ signed off by Carl Hughes which reads as follows
"YES- The price provided is the actual price including everything we do not increase pricing later on or hide any fee. Solar is predictable in terms of installation and therefore we are able to honour our quotations and provide a transparent pricing model" I paid the deposit on Monday April 4th at 16.53 as requested on receipt of the works order I received on the 2nd April by bank transfer and informed ECH by email that I had done so. At 17.12 on the 4th April I received an email from David Hall informing me that they had made a mistake and I need to pay a further £800 on top of my balance in order to proceed or would I like to cancel??!! This has been a work in progress and preparation since the beginning of February and I did not want to cancel I wanted the work done at the agreed price that I had been preparing for. I had made preparations making sure the roof was sound and the garage clear for the battery installation. So instead of the government saving I should have received I was being asked to pay more money. ECH LTD told me via email that they were surprised at my reaction at being asked to pay an additional £800 just days prior to my installation or I could cancel my installation which they were very keen for me to initiate. Neither of these solutions being a realistic one. I contacted citizens advice who confirmed that this is in breech of contract and who in turn are also logging this with Trading Standards. When I mentioned this to David Hall ECH denied that they were in breech of contract. I would encourage anyone thinking about using this company to check the Company and its affiliated people on Companies House which is a free and public site which provides the history of all registered Ltd Companies. I have received my deposit back today because I refused to pay an additional £800 but the time I have wasted with this company is shocking. My review is transparent and honest based on my experience.

ECH were very helpful throughout the whole process of installing our solar panels. They were very quick to answer all our queries and we have been impressed with their customer service.

Impressive installers. They really couldn't have been more attentive and friendly. I decided to write a review because this kind of thing seems rare these days and it needs to be recognised. This applies equally to the two who did the work on the roof as to the two who did the installation of the electrical equipment. This was in spite of them having to contend with an unpredictable problem which occurred when routing a cable under the landing floor (a water leak which was not their fault), making for a very long day. The lead workman got soaked - he deserves an award for remaining very professional in his attitude!
The solar PV didn't work straightaway and there were things they needed to check to get it up and running but they seemed able to access expert advice easily over the phone.
I am glad I chose to pay extra and have a battery with the solar PV as this has resulted in a massive reduction in the need for power from the grid. The app tells me in real time how much power there is, and that I have saved about a fifth of a ton of CO2 in the space of only 2 months.
There seems to be plenty of spare solar for charging an EV (when I get one).
I did need alot of reassurance on things in advance of the installation. It does seem like a complicated subject but the advice I received from ECH was very helpful and completely unpressured.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing

I am being very careful with my choice of words as I am seeking legal advice with regards to ECH Group and their installation of Solar Panels and House Battery at my property.

This review is to remind all of you to ensure you test every aspect of the installation before the engineers leave site.

My experience has been tainted as I did not check to make sure my EV could charge after the engineers left site and then ECH have refused to admit it is there problem even though everything was working as expected before they arrived.

It is disappointing that companies have great customer service when everything works as expected but deny all responsibility when something goes wrong.

Take this as a precautionary note and check every detail, do not make the same mistakes that I made.

ECH ENJOY CHEAP HEATING

Really happy with how the installation went. The panels all were fit correctly even with more complex roof layout with three loft windows. All wiring and electrical bits on the outside of the house looks well organised and tidy. The guys were happy to take into account any suggestions about the solar roof layout that would maximize the number of panels that could be installed.

After the install I noticed a small rattle on one panel during high winds, this was fixed promptly. Only issue with install was on receiving the panels two days before and not having space to store them. Prefer to have them delivered on same day or arrive with fitters. Maybe an additional extra could be to have this done and also any packaging removed after.

We recently had a 4kW PV array (with 5.2kWh battery) installed and we're very happy with how things have gone. (Time line: First contact 13/01, call on 14/01, survey on 31/01, kit delivery 21/02, installation 23/02.)

Wind back 9 months and we had signed up to an (unrelated) solar group-buy scheme which didn't have many positives - so I was hesitant with new attempts to finally harness the sun ...

.. but compared to other solar installers I spoke to, ECH Group (especially Carl) were by far the best in terms of putting the customer first: They recommended components, explained the pros/cons of different setups and answered (the many!) questions I had. It always felt transparent and never like a pushy sales attempt. I even chose myself to opt for a more expensive inverter at the last minute and that was accommodated.

The installers were friendly, efficient and professional (and the end result looks great). Access to a web portal to monitor battery & PV stats was provided immediately and a day later we were also given access to a second portal (specific to the more expensive inverter).

We immediately enjoyed a few sunny days at the end of February during which our grid import was almost zero throughout and we're looking forward to more such days come spring/summer!

I would highly recommend ECH.

ECH had recently installed solar panels in our village and were happy so I contacted ECH and received a detailed quotation. I asked for the survey to be done and about 10 days later that happened. I was given a date for installation on 18 February. The panels arrived on 16 February and due to bad weather forecast for 18 February in fact the panels were installed on 17 February! The fitters were very efficient and took only two hours to install eight panels. The electrician too was excellent. Very satisfied with everything especially with the amount of power generated even in February! I would thoroughly recommend ECH.

ECH installed a 14 panel system including Solaredge and Solar I boost which could provide a max of 5.6kW.
They provided an initial survey of my property and answered all my questions. There was no heavy sell and all my follow up queries were replied to promptly and professionally. I was most impressed by the ease of communicating with them.
All the equipment was delivered a couple of days before installation.
Due to covid the installation had to be done over two visits. The electrician initially came and wired up the system in a morning. He worked quickly and professionally and communicated well.
The roofers came a week later and fitted all 14 panels within 4 hours and left us with a fully working system.
I have only had the system in two days but am amazed at how much electricity has already been produced during a couple of days of mixed weather. It's mid February, storm eunice is raging and in two days 19 kWh of electricity have been generated.
I'm impressed with the service ECH provided and am happy to recommend them.
