Worth your while
The content and its delivery wonderful. Bite sized pieces of information well structured under a sensible and logical curriculum. The AI feedback feature is really good and useful. The homework is relevant and drives the participant to introspect deeply, but sometimes the instructions are vague or not super clear.

Great Value !
Very relevant content and great value for money. The self pace modality combined with deadlines really helps with flexibility and independence. I was able to manage the course and my masters degree simultaneously. The combination of readings, videos, interviews, case studies, exams just really helps to learn the content thoroughly and in depth.

A Rigorous and Practical AI Learning Experience
I was very pleased to have completed Cornell’s Generative AI for Productivity certificate through eCornell and Cornell Tech. This was an eye-opening experience and far more than a passive online course. It was hands-on, rigorous, and grounded in real-world application.
If you are looking for a serious academic experience that also delivers practical value, this course is well worth your time. If you are only looking for something to casually sample, this is probably not that kind of program. The course asks you to engage, think, apply, and stretch.
What I appreciated most was that the lessons extended beyond AI alone. Many of the concepts have broader value for business, decision-making, and problem-solving in general. I came away with tools and frameworks I can use immediately in both enterprise and entrepreneurial settings.
Another strength of the program is the opportunity to learn from and interact with experienced industry professionals. That added a great deal of value to the overall experience.
This is not a dip-your-toes-in course. It is more like diving in headfirst, and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Huge professional value
The certificates are a real value-added to your resume. Having an institution as prestigious as Cornell give you a practical, proffessionally applicable credential is a huge win. The classes were fairly easy and the work was very manageable, making it possible to complete 2 certs while working full time. The facilitators really care and give thorough feedback on every assignment. Highly recommend getting multiple certs from eCornell, if not for the knowledge, for the signalling effect/value to future hirers and bosses.

My experience with the eCornell
My experience with the eCornell AI Strategy course was both highly valuable and surprisingly manageable alongside a demanding professional and personal schedule. As someone balancing a full-time executive role with ongoing commitments at home, I found the course structure to be thoughtfully designed, allowing me to progress without feeling overwhelmed. The pacing, modular format, and clear expectations made it easy to integrate learning into my routine rather than treat it as an added burden.
The flow of the course was particularly effective. Each module built logically on the previous one, moving from foundational concepts to more strategic and applied frameworks. This progression helped reinforce understanding while continuously expanding my perspective on how AI can be leveraged within an organization. I'm not a stranger to on-line…
I'm not a stranger to on-line coursework. In fact, I prefer it due to my schedule. What I appreciated was the freedom to go at my own pace in this certificate process. I live on the West Coast, so I was a little worried about the time difference for communicating with my instructors or attending live sessions. But my instructors were always very responsive and understanding of time commitments.
Work/life balance is something that we talk about in our professional lives, but it also matters when we engage in learning activities. The instructors were extremely versed in the subject, were able to give suggestions on how the lessons learned could transfer to our current or even future professional development, and totally understood any life disturbances to my learning that I experienced (I personally had to take longer than I had wanted to complete all four courses due to unforeseen events).
Overall, the knowledge I gained will be immediately applicable to my current position and allow for an easier time in building upon those learnings in any future aspirations.

AI use is disappointing
The program was great: compact and well organized. The coursework all felt like it was well thought out and was aimed at getting students to think critically about what the video lectures said.
The facilitators did a good job keeping the live sessions lively and replying to discussion posts and assignments.
However, I am very disappointed by the use of AI in the grading of this program. Creative writing is the subject that has been the most encroached upon by generative AI, and I am appalled that it would be used to help grade our assignments. Generative models like the ones eCornell uses learn from everything they are shown, meaning all of the innovative creative writing done by myself and my fellow students is stolen and fed back into whatever system the Cornell AI is based on. People who care about creative writing, like the course facilitators, should know better than to do that.
I was disgusted in the instances when course assignments suggested that we use generative AI to prompt ourselves or create a block of text to analyze. Aside from the fact that AI is a moral black hole, it's completely unnecessary. Want a student to get random prompts? Have them ask people they know! Want a student to analyze a block of text? Provide one!

We do want to clarify a few points. Student work is reviewed and graded by human facilitators, not by AI. While facilitators may use tools to help support parts of the feedback process, responsibility for evaluation and grading remains fully with the facilitator.
We also want to be clear that student submissions are not used to train AI systems. Protecting the integrity and ownership of student work is important to us. In courses where AI is mentioned, those activities are intended to be optional ways to explore course concepts and use AI as a tool, not a replacement for independent thinking or creativity. We recognize that not every learner will be comfortable with those tools, and that perspective is valid.
Our approach is to use AI carefully, with human oversight and transparency, in ways that support learning rather than replace the instructor or the student voice.

I took the PM certificate because I thought it would prepare me for the PMI PM exam.
I took the PM certificate because the description gave me the impression that the courses would prepare me for the PMI PM exam. The courses did not do this, it does help understand a few of the basics and how to do project management but does not give you a lot of the knowledge needed to take the exam. After paying in full prior to the program started, I was very disappointed. I would not recommend this certificate program if someone wanted to use these courses to prep for the exam but rather as an intro to project management.

Good Overall Coverage, Challenging Practical Application
The lessons were quite thorough, but somewhat monotonous due to having the same speaker throughout the entire course. Live interactions were fairly limited and not very well organized. Overall, the picture provided was clear, comprehensive, and useful. However, some of the mandatory exercises focused on applying AI concepts directly to one’s company, which may not always be feasible—especially for organizations that are still at the very beginning of their AI journey.
