So this is now the 2nd issue I've had…
I am writing to share a disappointing experience during my recent visit to Elements Casino Brantford, which marks the second time I have encountered what I consider unprofessional and disrespectful behavior from staff.
Upon entering, I followed standard procedure and presented my bag for inspection. During the check, a security staff member found a torch-style lighter and informed me it was not permitted. Although I explained that it was not functional, I still complied and disposed of it. When a second lighter was found, the staff member became noticeably curt and suggested I leave and return another day. I again cooperated and attempted to dispose of it; however, when it accidentally fell to the floor, I bent down to retrieve it. At that moment, the staff member forcefully slammed the inspection bench, which I found unnecessary and unprofessional.
I calmly asked if there was an issue, but instead of resolving the situation, security escalated it and called a supervisor, who immediately sided with the staff member without asking for my account of what had occurred. I felt dismissed and unfairly treated, especially since I have never had issues with other security personnel at this location, who have always been respectful.
While I acknowledge that my frustration escalated and I used inappropriate language in response, this stemmed from feeling disrespected and not being given an opportunity to explain myself. Regardless, the situation could have been handled more professionally from the outset.
As a paying customer, I expect to be treated with basic respect and fairness. Unfortunately, this experience has left me unwilling to return or spend money at this establishment. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses both staff conduct and conflict resolution practices to prevent similar situations in the future.
