The worst customer experience

I booked a Virgin experience for theatre and dinner and didn't realise the booking was managed by Encore Tickets. I tried to book in May 2021 but I received an automated email saying that the experience hadn't resumed yet and that I had to wait. In July, the production had resumed and I emailed Encore to get my production booked in but was greeted by an automated email that said when the production resumed I would be contacted (even though it had). For 4 months I kept emailing in and receiving the same automated email (no phone lines worked). Finally in October (baring in mind the production resumed in July), I received another automated email saying I could now book. I filled in the form and selected my preferred dates but again, didn't hear anything for a few weeks. I've finally received another automated email saying I'm booked in for next week (lucky I didn't have any plans!!), really need to improve their customer experience (7 months I've been waiting for this!!).

Would give 0 stars if I could

I purchased theatre tickets through buyagift pre-covid which I had redeemed and booked through Encore. The show (which was meant to take place 18 months ago) was cancelled due to lockdown and I have been chasing Encore to get this rebooked with no response. Avoid at all costs.

Awful awful awful.

No customer service what so ever, just blanking the matter rather than facing up to it.

Recently a group of 8 of us went to watch pretty woman in London a 2.5/3 hour trip from where we lived, so we made a weekend of it and booked a hotel.

I had a missed call on my phone at 4.14pm on the Saturday afternoon whilst in london which I thought nothing of.. went to pick up our tickets at the box office at 7.25 for our 7.30pm show - Our tickets had been cancelled and sold to someone else! ‘Technical error on the day’ apparently! 8 adults. Disgraceful. When I emailed to complain they said they called and followed up with an email.. which no email was ever received only the copy they sent to my reply (regardless it doesn’t matter as it is not good enough to be left in London on the day with no show?!)

To make matters worse, I exchanged a few emails and finally they said they were investigating and going to escalate to give us some sort of compensation for our wasted journeys and hotel costs… I sent all our invoices and receipts..it’s been a week and now I’m being ignored.

Atrocious customer service: no phone line and a email customer service that took so many months to resolve that they summarily closed the case deciding it had been too long after the ticket date.

I was scammed out of 50 pounds by these criminals - do not use them.

I had the same problem as most of these…

I had the same problem as most of these reviews, I had the credit voucher but when I went to book it kept saying number invalid, after spending ages reading on the encore website it said add the first 3 letters of surname followed by the credit voucher number and I have now successfully booked my theatre tickets, hope this helps anyone that is having trouble trying to rebook

Absolutely disgusting service

Absolutely disgusting service. Tickets cancelled and voucher provided by Natalie (after sales team). E-mailed on several occasions for a full refund as I do not want any codes, as we went on a one off. No response from either e-mails customerservices@encore or help@encoretickets
This company are operating at a very low standard and need immediate audit of processes. The climate we are in every penny counts.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS THEY ARE THIEVES!

If I could give 0 stars then I would company owes me £210 due to lion king being cancelled. They issued me a voucher with 10% on top of amount but one slight issue… the code doesn’t work. Have tried contacting via phone and email numerous time over the last 3 months with no joy!!!.

Uncontactable and unacceptable

I have had a similar experience to other reviewers. Encore tickets have not responded to my enquiries. I have a credit for over £600 as I had booked a number of tickets for Hamilton. Encore tickets are no longer booking Hamilton. When I tried to use the credit to book another show the credit voucher was not accepted.

Don't touch with a barge pole!

This company are using revenue from pre-covid sales to keep themselves from going bust. That is why they will not honour the pre-covid orders. I got my money back by writing to the CEO of Virgin Experiences who originally sold the tickets.

I would give this company a minus…

I would give this company a minus score. I emailed them 4 times to arrange a refund or exchange due to self isolating. I tried to ring, they have cut the phone lines. The date of the performance has been and gone, still no communication. Appalling, despite assurances on their website. Avoid at all costs. It has cost me £200s.

Daughter has a credit of over £340 to…

Daughter has a credit of over £340 to use for a booking that was cancelled due to covid and now they aren't responding to emails. Contacted the parent company Holiday Extra's Ltd who say they cannot deal with this, so informed them that I will just get a London Barrister to issue Court proceedings to get my money back. So a simple £340 credit will now cost them well over £1,200 time the barrister charges his fees. If everyone does the same maybe they will sit up and take notice!

Booked theatre, took ££, no tickets

Booked tickets from Come from Away... got ref numbers but no email from ENCORE or TODAYTIX

TODAYTIX 0800 number is not in service

ENCORE has a truly pathetic message about people working from home/line shut - all the time!

Sent emails, not holding my breath!

How lame can all the companies that use such a recorded message get.... WFH, Covid, longer waits - these excuses are PAST THEIR SELL BY DATE!

Voucher code and link don’t work for show tomorrow

I booked tickets to see the book of Mormons but like many others cancelled due to covid which is no ones fault. I got vouchers back from encore, no refund option and thought ok well they’ve suffered. I’m now going to London tomorrow and have been trying to contact encore for over a week without a response. My voucher code and link are not working and I’ve got a £165 voucher code I can’t use. My family and I were so looking forward to using it towards a Mary poppins show tomorrow 😥 but can’t condone spending another £200 plus on tickets and loosing the original money I had spent.

Appalling

Tried to get information on a failed booking which had nonetheless generated a PayPal payment. Response from Encore was delayed, utterly incoherent and devoid of any useful help. This company obviously lacks any form of useful customer service. Symptomatic that the prominently advertised phone number has a recorded message saying they're not taking phone calls.

Similar experience to others . Cancelled show from last year . It’s now due next Friday pm woman in black but no news or replies to emails other than stalling . Can’t contact by phone as the number simply says they are working from home. We have a meal too but that was in conjunction with the show .Don’t use them they are fraudsters in my opinion . Ps 1 star minus 1 star ! Mr A F Turton

Refusal to refund/rebook Virgin Experience tickets

In Feb 2020 I booked a virgin experience voucher for a theatre trip and dinner package, which unfortunately could not go ahead due to Covid (understandably). It has now been OVER A YEAR since I was meant to see the show, and despite many emails to Encore, they continue to say that they 'cannot redeem' my voucher. It was bought as a gift and cost me more than I could afford at the time, so it was meant to be something special. I don't understand how they can get away with effectively stealing their customers' money like this. I'm extremely disappointed in their service.

Pains me to give them one star

Pains me to give them one star. No phone calls just meaningless stalling emails. They owe for a venue covid cancelled show. Numerous attempts at a refund to no avail. The worst ever. Please do not book anything with these fraudsters.
