My first time using this company to insure my mobility scooters (I also have another policy with them for my electric trike). Very happy with the price of the policy. Had to make a small claim for some accidental damage. Excellent customer service though the whole process, Thank You Callum !!

Great insurance company
I have had my insurance with ETA for a while now. They have been great to deal with throughout. Easy to get in touch with and talk to when I was changing bike details. I recently claimed for a rear tyre and insert and it has been a very pleasant dealing. Thanks again ETA for being easy to deal with.

God awful service
On fri 11th july I broke down in a layby with a flat tyre at 9am. One of the hottest days of the year. I tried some local garages first, then last resort, ETA , having located my insurance information, I phoned. Lady asked few questions, and at the end said, i was uninsured, even though I'm on the policy for 'insurance purposes ', then demanded I pay £120 for rescue. I declined & waited for my husband to come rescue me from his work. The most appalling service, the lack of compassion for a vulnerable person, and over 10 years I've paid into this platinum service & when I needed it I was refused. I haven't even had an apology from ETA for getting it so wrong. If there was zero star rating, you'd have it.

Having had time to properly investigate what happened, we hold our hands up – a technical fault in our systems meant we were unable to help you at a time when you were relying on our support. It was entirely our fault and we are extremely sorry. This kind of event is extremely rare, but we take it very seriously and now that the root cause of this issue has been identified, corrective measures are being implemented. Very happy with the claims service I received
Muller was great. He was empathic and communicative. He always responded to my questions and I felt that he was ‘on my side’ and was doing his best for me. I was very happy with the support and the outcome regarding my claim.

Worst experience ever
Worst experience ever. They are the same if not worse than other insurance companies, the insane loopholes they create to ensure they do not pay out.
Do not buy the scam that they are ethical, it is all rubbish.
Update: Your policy highlights very nuanced and mostly vague statements that are purely open to interpretation and the decision of your company. The bicycle was locked in the rear and back frame and secured in the front garden. Unattended for 18hrs is fairly vague as while I was not home, my partner was.
Going to court is futile, you have the power and the financial backing to win anyways.
Like I said, ETA is the same if not worse than other insurance companies, use them at your own risk.

We understand how disappointing it can be to have a claim declined. However, it's important to highlight that, like most insurance policies, our cover includes specific conditions that must be met for a claim to be valid.
One key requirement is that bicycles must be secured through the frame to an immovable object. In your case, the bike was only secured by the rear wheel, allowing the rest of it to be removed and stolen. CCTV of the incident showed the bike being lifted away, leaving the rear wheel and lock behind. Additionally, the bicycle was left unattended in a location accessible to the public without the use of force for more than 18 hours, which also falls outside the scope of our cover.
We are committed to reviewing all claims fairly and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the policy to ensure consistency and fairness for all policyholders.
While we regret that we couldn't approve your claim on this occasion, we hope you can understand the basis for our decision.
If you would like to challenge this outcome, you’re welcome to appeal through the Financial Ombudsman Service. Please don’t hesitate to contact our claims team if you’d like more information or support with this process.
