First Choice Doors & Windows  Avis 112

Apologies if this is the wrong company however when I ring the other company by the same name but spelt differently, no one seems to answer

Just over a year ago, my mum and dad who are based in Stafford just off the Wolverhampton Road had some work done with some doors and windows and the front door has never locked correctly since being fitted

Courtesy of their age and the distance I live from them I’m reading the poor reviews on both companies leaves me worried

They said a young couple were doing the work. I’m not sure if they are brother or sister or cousins were married as I have not met them.

They told me they have tried to ring also but seemed to get nowhere fast
My partner and I do not have the best of health and cannot travel as my partner has terminal cancer and its added stress causes concerns given the reviews listed and stating ex contractors! Could these contractors be the ones that I’ve done the dodgy work on the windows and doors? If so, who is liable for this matter?

I have had windows and doors fitted by this company, they have been really professional, great customer service, all staff very polite and friendly. Highly recommended!

My ring doorbell goes and then knock at the door quite heavy quite battled by this. Anybody would think I was in trouble with the law as it made me jump some middle-aged lad from Swansea I think he said was telling me his neighbours were having some work done. He asked if I would be interested in having a quotation on a conservatory as you could see my old one on the rear of the property he kept pressing for appointment with myself and my wife, I’m very persistent. I asked him for a flyer so I could look at the company first to see what they are all about.
Eventually he handed me one and told me he would be back later that day allowing me time to check this company out first he asked for my name and my telephone number to which I declined at the time as I do not want to give my number out without knowing who I’m dealing with first
A few hours had passed and he came back once more this time approaching my wife unaware as I could hear the conversation from behind the door he got very shirty and was told to leave the flyer had a name of Jordan on it after reviews that I have seen today I will be avoiding this company net costs

Awful customer service

My parents had some work done by this company during Covid
They have contacted this company more times than I dare to count
Endless promises to rectify work
Extremely quick to take your money
Extremely quick to avoid rectifying multiple errors

Bang bang bang on my door
Extremely pushy and aggressive
Telling me my windows are no good and they are old like I am
Telling me I can have a free quote for some free Windows with free interest
Don’t take no for an answer

Avoid like the plague

This company will constantly call you even though you ask them to remove your data from their system
They always ask if you’re looking to get a quote on your windows and doors or all the items on your house when you tell them you do not require their service they promised to remove your name and number from their system but weeks will go by when they will do it again

Bullying

This company will bully you with their prices. They start off ridiculously high and take no for an answer. They will spend hours in your home making out they are giving you the best deal possible police were called to assist with the removal but before they could arrive they finally left three hours later.

I was in the kitchen earlier today when someone started banging on my front door quite loudly before I could get to the door. I found a leaflet dropped on my floor as I picked it up. I opened the door to see who it was and found a lad walking away, so I called him back to find out who he was and what he wanted. He tells me he has knocked on my door in regards to my windows. I asked him what was the problem with my windows ? He began to tell me they were old draft day and no good and that they had been in for quite some time and that he could happily get a knife and pop the glass out if you wanted to like a thief in the night, this has scared me quite deeply and left me no concerned and worried for my own safety in my own home to make matter worse pointed to my new car and stated that if I could afford a new car, I therefore could afford some new windows shocked by this I was left speechless and gobsmacked who has the right to tell me what I should or should not do with my own property when I challenged him eventually he begun to use colourful language and a middle finger and tell me to go f* myself and called me a fat whale unaware that I’m heavily pregnant with twins not though I need to explain myself to him or anybody else but the car is a company car for my husband and we’ve only recently moved into the property and not been in a financial position to change windows or alterations to our home considering the fact that I am due to give birth at any point, but the stress of that could’ve brought an early labour I told my husband about this which has left me worried and fearful. I looked on the leaflet to find a name of Jordan. I’m unaware if he is a local lad or not but this company and he’s representation put me off using them at any point in the near future I will strongly advise anybody to come in contact with this business and people like him to avoid it all costs unprofessional in its own right I hope he doesn’t have children or a wife because if he does, I would be concerned for their welfare and how you might treat them maybe he may have kids I don’t know but if he spoke to a child the way he spoke to me even his own and I saw him in public I would report him to the authoriti

Two worker over rd last week, very nice and smile, me an wife in garden an 2 wrk men calling on doors asking if any1 want any work from this company, they ask next door and they say yes to quote, my wife asked how much for windows, they said no, than said call office even tho they make appointment with neighbour, very rude, maybe they don’t like us?

Lovely fitters. Very clean and friendly.

My elderly mother in her 90s received a call today at her front door
A lad by the name of “Jordan” informed my mother that the company he represents was doing some work for one of the residents, he handed her a leaflet and told her that her windows were old and all the mist and condensation was not good and that she needed some new ones when when she kindly explained to the best of her ability that she had handed power of eternity over to myself and my sister and that he needed to speak to one of us as she could not make a decision he got very aggressive and very nasty. All of this is recorded on CCTV. The only reason we know who this person is is because of the name on the leaflet, he was very pushy very demanding and insisted on giving her details.

After reviewing the CCTV, I am contemplating reporting this to the police and trading standards, I am not sure 100% if he’s Welsh, but he certainly sounds like it by the accent or somewhere in that region

I am extremely angry by the manner and conduct after reviewing their reviews. I would highly recommend staying well clear of him and anyone from this company. I can only imagine had my mother given her details to him and arranged for an appointment as salesman would come round and would absolutely do everything in their power to gain money from a vulnerable woman

Shaid and Becky are the owners of this company and have been since day one, they were in partnership with another fella who moved to Shropshire home improvements after covid who’s on the sex register and both of these clowns knew this and were happy to do business with him, Tony Bushnall and his brother Mark,

I have called this company on multiple occasions to complain about problems that I have had since day one with my conservatory and it’s been non-stop leaking ever since
When you asked to speak to the owner of the company, they always tell you that the owners are not in and that the person that you are speaking to is the manager not the owner which is not actually quite accurate, Shaid Hussain is now joint owner with his wife Becky, but when you call you get told you are talking to either Gary or Charlie when in actual fact it’s the exact same person why he feels the need to proclaim to be a white British male when he is clearly not it’s baffling as well as concerning especially as he is a male Muslim. He also tells you they are brothers, which is also inaccurate and untrue. I am quite confident in believing not only is a terrible liar but he has a multiple personality disorder how we managed to keep up with different names from the company I don’t know and when you ask for a refund, you need to speak to Stephen who is also the same person. He is not under new ownership nor has it been in fact it’s been the same ownership since the beginning of registration for this company they are exceptionally quick to take your money and make false promises time and time again to come out and repair the issues and the damage done and even offer a refund if you can provide evidence I.e. proof via email etc. I’ve also spoken to another colleague that works for them by the name of Jordan who is arrogant and his own arse and very unprofessional and it’s quick to tell you his point of view without listening to yours not only this but they call me up on a regular basis asking if I want more work doing from this company, I did agree that if they rectified the matters, I would give them benefit of the doubt as I needed a full house of windows but because I cannot be bothered to rectify the thousand pound I have spent working hard for quite clearly that’s never going to happen. We’ve all heard the expression past the parcel in this case it’s past the blame kick the problem down the line. I would highly recommend anyone reading this not to use this company and to consider any legal action required against them if you have done so on any work you have not had rectified by this poor disgusting vulgar company

I had a ten-year warranty on new windows installed, 5th year parts of windows handles himges started to fall apart called them about the material fault they are asking for payment for warranted parts.

Steer away, not honest business.
Now they will read this and say we are sorry for the experience you faced.
They have no intention to keep their side of the deal

Only gave this 1 star because the quality of work is good but customer service is non existent. Always deliver outstanding presentation on their products to sell you but after they get you on the contract you are just a number. Spent over £7k on the roof and I don’t feel like I’m being appreciated for being a customer. It was difficult to arrange a date for installation, first date was given eventually when I kept calling them, then no one turned up.. I wasted a day waiting for them and didn’t even bother to call me to say they have to cancel due to weather conditions. Also for the final measurements they just turned up unannounced when I wasn’t at home. After sales is even worse as still chasing them since beginning of December as they left lots of screws, bolts and debris everywhere, not very tidy workers. Then I got a flat tyre on both of my cars because of the screws/bolts which was hard for me to notice they were left behind also on my drive as it’s gravel and few have been buried between the gravel. As much as I tried to clean up few apparently were still there as I got a slow puncture in my tyre few days after installation and another tyre was puncture nearly a week later cause I just kept finding screws between my gravel drive. I thought I’d give them a chance to resolve this issue with me first, kept calling up and they kept saying someone will be in touch and nobody ever called. Got fed up after 2 weeks and sent in an official complaints email which on their website they say will be responded to up to 2 weeks time.. surprisingly still no reply to my multiple emails. Couldn’t get through before Christmas, guessing everyone had a nice time off as the phones weren’t answered. Finally got to speak to Garry in January after they apparently had a change of staff. He spoke to me and said he needs to discuss with the board as they are a small company and don’t really have the funds to deal with situations like this? Again, had to chase him for few weeks to get a decision back. After multiple attempts he then accused me of lying and said I could have dropped the screws on the drive myself??!! Now that is fabulous customer service.. because I really wanted to cause a hassle to myself with changing tyres and taking taxi into work, love to inconvenience myself! Gary basically said it’s my words against theirs.. apparently the workers said they have not left any mess. On top of that he said dealing with my complaint was being delayed because the guy that makes decisions his wife hasn’t been well. Then they are swept off their feet in office then another excuse.
Then they finally agreed to compensate for my tyres and this was last month, Gary told me to send an email with proof of my receipts for the tyres, no surprise there - email was not acknowledged. Still chasing him up to this day as then he’s not in, then in meetings, then on a pray.. I’m sorry but I have a full time job and this has created a massive anxiety for me now that I have to take time out of work to try call and get hold of them. Multiple promises that Gary will call back and that call never comes. I think I have given you more than enough chances to resolve this and I really did not want to leave this review but you have left me no choice.
And to all the future customers putting their trust into this company please be cautious because if something goes wrong you are never gonna hear from them again and there will be no help if you need it

Absolutly rubbish company. They build the conservatory and finished on time. Next week onwards massive leak, whole rain comes in through the roof contacted them from the first week. Did nothing. Carrying on till now the 8th year. Nothing has been done and the leak is all over the room and roof and everywhere. A green house will be better than this. Absolutly rubbish rubbish. We could never use this conservatory all these 8 years always flood in the room. Such a waste of money and time..went for a hoiday for 5 days and back, the room is filled with water.

Already had one window fitted by another company. wish I'd found First choice windows (England) ltd before I went ahead. Just had two windows fitted by a first rate window company. From start to finish they were excellent. Their product is 1st class and the fitters couldn't have been more efficient. They left my house clean and tidy and were respectful and helpful from beginning to end. I have ordered the rest of my windows to be fitted by them, They certainly live up to their name. Five star in my book.
