Driver Colin was prompt and helpfull

Driver Colin was prompt, kept me updated and very helpful withy the off load.
Product is good and as described, I got what I needed done within 2 hours of delivery.
Very pleased with the overall service, price and general helpfulness.
would recommend and will use again

Not impressed with this company at all

This company is very polite , but the worst experience I have ever had with any company in my entire life , I payed for my gates in October , the wrong gates came , took company a while to admit fault , and so many phone calls before my gates arrived ..... minus fitted drop bolts , seriously depressed with on going phone calls,company didn’t take into account any of the upset they caused , finally delivered drop bolts + £300 good will,in January .... not impressed with FF at all , finally got everything sorted in January / February ,payed xtra £150 +vat for gates to be delivered in 2 weeks ...from date of paying for gates in October

poor quality and really poor customer service

After 15 years in the fencing business this is the worst company I have dealt with. The list of complaints is too long to note here but include them not sending all products, being unwilling to have conversations about this after 48 hr period, despite them being aware other products were missing/incorrect and damaged. I have called several times a week for numerous weeks for updates, no one responded. I have had to to pay extra to get the products i had already paid for to keep my customer happy under the guise they would look into my order and get back to us as soon as they can (2 months and several calls later I'm still waiting)
I have been made to pay for the spray paint to rectify damaged products I had been sent.
I have asked for photos of delivery which would prove they hadn't sent significant large proportion of the order they said they would several times and still haven't.
I have asked multiple times to speak to a senior manager, the ground floor staff wont provide details of anyone other than the customer service team who cant do anything to help (though they have tried to help as much as they can and were sympathetic and acknowledged the poor service )
I have driven over on occasions to speak to the customer service manager , who suggested we buy the spray paint to rectify damaged fencing they had sent, and that he would then deal with the other issues and never did !!
The senior manager group are not visible at all, and cannot be contacted to discuss these issues.
The worst customer service and quality of products I have experienced and definitely wouldn't recommend using the company.
If a senior manager is reading this feel free to contact us we would love to talk !

Buy your own bolts!!

After spending thousands of pounds
on an order, which once arrived on site was supplied with special security bolts (which were not requested) instead of standard bolts. These require a special torque bit which can only be supplied by firstfence (surprise) who failed to inform that this
would be the case prior to delivery, I then go on there website to order a bit to install fencing only to find its £3.85 for a bit and wait for it, a minimum of £105.00 to £271.33 delivery uk!
Who's pulling who's pants down,
greedy short term view not good honest business sense, there will be no repeat orders from our company.
My advice, buy your own bolts!

Absolutely Appalling

Do not use this company!
Orders not completed, damaged goods sent out, manufacturing issues (obviously they don't provide tape measures to their fabricators), calls are not taken

Very poor..

Very poor... Personally i will be buying my fencing, barriers etc elsewhere from now on, i am having to pay twice for there staffs mistakes, always check your materials before the delivery driver disappears into the sun set as they will not except responsibility afterwards...Two words... Dis Grace.....

Disgrace

We have tried to pick up the items ourselves as we did before but the size was different this time. My husband asked for the fence to be brought out and at that moment a member of staff felt deeply offended. We went back to the office asking for delivery, we have been presented with two options: £105 & £165 delivery charge. We have decided to take out a £105 delivery charge but for some reason we have been charged £165. I have decided to leave it like that so as not to cause any inconvenience and I booked a delivery date on 5th of January. In the meantime while I was there the lady manager asked the counter, using a strong upset tone, to charge me a further £20 for taking the goods out of the warehouse. I said that I already paid this, then the counter and the manager (both) checked the invoice straight away to make sure I was telling the truth. I felt like everyone it's trying to rip me off. Some kind of revenge because my husband dared to ask for the fence to be taken out of the warehouse, a service that we HAVE PAID FOR (£20).

Nevertheless, when we received an incomplete order last wednesday . The post mix cement has not been delivered. I didn't even think that after paying a fat delivery charge and having to deal with the perfect staff that knows everything we will receive an incomplete order. On Saturday morning we had the workers in ( cost us £600), and the cement was nowhere to be found. I called customer service at 9am requesting clarification. The gentleman kindly assured me that he will reach the manager and he'll call straight back. Never did.

In a normal world a customer needs to be taken care of. Especially when they are spending a great deal of money. They are growing your business. I'm very disappointed.

No refund received yet even for the stuff we have not received

Absolute disgrace

Absolutely ridiculous service. I’ve paid £133 extra for delivery today and it hasn’t arrived. Called the office and been strung along for nearly 3 hours with the same reply “I’ll log it as urgent and get someone to call you back” yet no calls back and it’s nearly 4pm. Asked the girl when they will call me back and if my delivery is going to arrive and she repeats “I’ll log it as urgent and get someone to call you back”

Absolutely shocking non-existent…

Absolutely shocking non-existent customer service.

Scammed me out of my deposit and kept money back for offloading/onloading despite the fact it was agreed that it was included in the price.

Also massively overpriced.

Do not use this company!

Great Service from Megan!

I was assisted by Megan Best based at the Canvey Depo, who was more than helpful in terms of assisting me with the products I needed and provided a quote straight away. Megan followed up with a call to ensure that I received the quote. Even though on this occasion, we did not go ahead with the purchase, the service was absolutely phenomenal.

Incredibly poor service

Very poor service. Waited 2 months to get order delivered & was guaranteed delivery twice, before it arrived.
When it did arrive, the finish is poor (metal wire twisted around product in multiple locations & powder coated over, rough finish to powder coat & transport marks which have gone through the finish to the metal).
Raised a complaint 2 weeks ago & received much of the same, promises of calls & delay tactics.

First Fence - London Depot, Canvey Island

First Fence - London Depot, Canvey Island - ordered our fencing easily online but unfortunately there were a number of issues including availability of certain items and powder coating problems. This meant the order was delayed by almost 2 weeks. First Fence offered advice and alternatives and more importantly kept us up to date with what was happening with our order and contacted us whenever they said they would even if the issues were ongoing. The service from the local depot was great. Things do sometimes go wrong but it's how they're dealt with that makes a difference and Canvey depot did themselves proud. If the fencing had come on time it would have been 5 stars but they still came pretty close. Would definitely use them again.

AVOID THIS COMPANY, COMPLETE SHAMBLES AS A COMPANY.

Placed order and paid in full, on day of delivery received phone call to to say some items were out of stock but we would receive missing items with 2 to 3 days. several emails and phone calls later after over 2 weeks of waiting and little to no response, we are now being told according to their system all items were sent and if we want the missing items we must pay again.
AVOID AT ALL COST. LOOKING AT OTHER REVIEWS IT HAPPENS ON A REGULAR BASIS.

Used for several projects and orders. Always correct and any issues with stock were always relayed to us in a timely manner.

Avoid this company at all costs - Cowboys

Avoid this company at all costs, made us some custom gates that did not even fit the posts they made for us!

Then offered no solution, commutation was none!

Reported to trading standards and case opened.

We placed an order and paid for it after being assured everything was in stock , a week later after 2 emails to say our goods will be delivered the following day still a no show, we eventually get the wrong order 2 weeks after the order is paid for , a further 3 days later we get some of our order, every time we phone the customer services they apologise but don't give any useful answers .
The gates were manufactured wrong and took another week to rectify 2 failed deliveries again , it has been nothing but a bad experience with no customer services to speak of ,grab the money and string the customer along .
An absolute shambles of a company and no management will accept responsibility ,will definately not be using them in the future

Absolute shambles of a company

We run a fencing business and have used First Fence 3 times for security fencing projects in the hope they would get better - they did not. They messed something up on every single order, either the order was missing items, came damaged or in the most recent instance - the tab on the gate post was welded in the wrong place and they sent the wrong size posts for the panels.

On every occasion First Fence has made a fool of us as a company, their customer services is an absolute joke. We were told we would receive a replacement gate post on Friday at the latest, it has now been a week and despite calling 8 times for an update, we just get told that nobody is available and somebody will call you back (they never call you unless they want money from you).

This company is cheap, but the quality of the products reflect this. Poorly manufactured and an absolute embarrassment. I honestly don't understand how they can run a business. If I could give 0 stars I would - stay away from this company. We will never be ordering from them again.
