Foam Away Extraction Specialists Avis 

Having recently purchased a property that had open cell spray foam insulation in the loft and not being aware of the problems it creates, we decided to have it removed. Being aware that there were unscrupulous companies offering their services we were careful in choosing the right company to do the job. We had various quotes on the internet, some only asking for photos and only two actually turning up to view the job. Paul the rep from Foam-Away was knowledgeable, understanding and did not pressure me into the work. Sceptical as I am I agreed a price and had the work undertaken. George and his team came on time, being polite and worked in extreme heat for two days. I was then left in limbo whilst they went to another job. Having spoken to one of the bosses who was apologetic, the work recommenced a week later. The quality and standard of the work was excellent including thorough clean up each day. The follow up call from the company was pleasant and reassuring with the advice to contact them if required in the future. Thank you Foam-Away brilliant job and would happily recommend your company.

After being ripped off getting this installed a delight to use foam away. Lads hardworking, polite,cleaned up brilliantly. Separate van collected the waste . Efficient,good price totally happy with the job

Five years ago we thought we were doing the right thing having spray foam insulation which gave us full use of the loft space when done. After one year the phone calls started with many companies wanting to remove it, to cut a long story short non of them convinced us it was neccessary until Glenn came from Foam-Away, he took his time and explained everything, we did have the start of damp patches due to the roof not being able to breath, at last it all made sense. Sean and his team came in a week later removed it all and laid new insulation between the joists. they worked very hard as it is not a pleasant job, updated us throughout the process also lots of photos. Everyone we have dealt with in this company has been so helpful and friendly it gave us great confidence the work would be done correctly. We are extremely happy and totally recommend Foam-Away

Removal of open cell foam in my loft
I first had a call from Foam Away and agreed for the surveyor a guy named Glen to come and check our situation and give us a quote, Glen was very knowledgeable about the subject and explained a great deal to my wife and I so we went ahead and agreed a date for them to come and remove the foam
On the day of commencement two guys Alfie and Russell turned up on time, explained all that was to happen in a manner that my wife and I could understand. These two guys were very pleasant and courteous and so hard working, it took them 5 days to complete the job because I have a huge loft space on my bungalow. Every day they would take away all the foam and clean up after themselves leaving it spotless. After they completed the job they invited my wife and I to go into the loft and inspect it and we were pleased with the outcome. Also all of my loft was fitted with new rockwool to lawful specifications all in all I would recommend this company to anyone from my experience

The company carried out the foam removal but also referred us on to a company that were able to claim a refund for the original installation and the removal. Success! Many thanks

After seeing all of the issues on spray foam we felt it necessary to get it removed from mums house for prevention. Due to feeling she had been scammed the first time I was some what skeptical of the whole situation When Foam Away approached us they were by far the most knowledgeable firm we had in a long line of people that showed interest in removing it, they were not the cheapest by any means but we felt from their website, port folio and reading other reviews they just stood out as the most credible for this reason we gave them the job. I have to say I’m not one to review but everyone from the guy who came out to the team in the office and the men who did the job were understanding and professional through out and I didn’t make life easy for them! But nothing was too much hassle and I was kept up to date throughout the whole process, job was complete in 5 long days and very methodically done exactly as it was in the photos. Our house is both now safe and saleable. Would highly recommend.

For anyone who, like me, got caught by the spray-foam scam, this is a very good company to solve the problem. They were excellent in all respects bar one.
The first contact was not a salesman but a qualified surveyor (Glenn) who took his time, was knowledgeable and informative, answering all my questions.
The two operatives who removed the foam (Joao and Pavel) were hard-working, efficient, punctual and polite and did an excellent job, leaving the roof timbers immaculate, and cleaning up after themselves.
My only problem was that the rubbish was then left in my garden for a week before it was collected - pretty inconvenient. The office did not perform to the same hight standards as the workers, being dilatory in answering emails and giving an impression of disorganisation. If it was my company, this is the area I would be looking to improve.

You can however trust this lot not to rip you off again, because they did not ask for any money up front and only invoiced me when the whole job was completed.
The cost of removal was £4250 for 84 square metres, a very competitive price, and they laid new insulation for just the cost of the material. I cannot complain.

I wanted to write this review because I was very worried about getting the correct firm to remove our open cell foam. After all the bad press about foam loft installation and realising our so called warranties(the installation firm had gone out of business in 2021 soon after we had it installed) were worthless we decided to get it removed as we were worried about damage to rafters etc.
Foam- Away were brilliant from start to finish. I contacted them and Dan was very patient answering endless questions about every aspect of the process. George and his team turned up in time and worked solidly for 4 days ( sometimes not leaving until 6:45- they did check this was ok first). They worked in very cramped conditions on a very large area and cleared up every evening. They did a brilliant job- I’d had a go myself on a small area so I know how difficult it was. I’m amazed at the end result and it really was like the before and after pictures you see online. I would definitely recommend this company to others. They don’t take payment until the job is completed to your satisfaction and this does set your mind at rest. Thanks Foam-Away for a fantastic job.

Removal of spray foam insultation is a hard, messy, time consuming and laborious job.
There is no easy way to remove it and it's purely about the labour and the people.
Foam-Away were professional, efficient and considerate from the start to the end of the removal process. Nothing was too much trouble and they did exactly what they'd promised, when they'd promised it, which is rare these days.
The team on site were polite, considerate, efficient and very hard working. They constantly cleared up any mess that escaped, treated my home with utter respect and a took a real pride in what they were doing.
As a Chartered Surveyor (and Fellow of the RICS) I deal with many different trades on a daily basis, but Foam-Away are excellent and I can't recommend them highly enough - it was an absolute pleasure to deal with them and I'm absolutely thrilled with the end result. A former tenant had insulated the loft space without my permission but now it's back to its former glory, or better, and I can breathe a sigh of relief!

Had my Foam loft insulation removed, it was causing problems. This company came looked and assment on it. A cost to remove. Assessor turned up on time.
Day of the job no one turned up, got a call van broke down. No big issue. Came day after.

Well the crew came very respectful and explained what they were going to do. Done job and clean up and put everything thing back. Thank you to that crew good job.
Payment fun, had issue with my card. Got sorted there accounts department very understanding, helpful. Thank you.
Time keeping for the persons task to collect payment. Failed to turn up. Also the man tasked to inspect the work two and a half hours late. Finally call someone came and told payment, called told 10 to 15 minutes, turned up 35 minutes later. But very polite and respectful.

To sum up yes time keeping poor!
The crew that did my job highly recommended, wish all workers were like this crew. !!! If the company has a bonus scheme for workers they deserve it!!

This may be an unfair review, as it was relayed to me by an elderly relative, who is now very worried that their roof is ruined, may collapse from rot and they will be unable to sell.

There appears to be some scaremongering going on, as the couple are too old, infirm and confused to be selling, or likely to be around long enough for the roof to rot away.

I am currently uncertain if it is just another scam.

There is a sinister trend for companies to prey on the elderly, sell unneeded foam insulation, cease trading and then "another" company comes in to offer the foam removal.

I will of course remove this review if these concerns turn out to be unfounded, after getting the roof independently inspected.

Very please with the service that i received from Foam-away. I was very up set when i hear the bad news regarding spray foam on the BBC .Having spoken to several people, i decided to go with Foam away who where very knowable and put my mind at rest both Tim and Mark were respectful of my property cleaned up and did a great job from start to finish.

After being unable to sell our property due to our potential buyer being unable to get a mortgage i knew we needed to get rid, after getting many opinions and speaking to many companies, foam away just seemed to have an edge in knowledge and professionalism the others didn’t they weren’t the cheapest but with the sale of the property being on the line that wasn’t what we were after. I have waited to post this review until the building society’s surveyor came out to check the spray had been removed adequately and I quote ‘the cleanest removal I have seen in 10 years’ there is little enough affirmation in this world and ordinarily I never review but after hearing that and how client focused the company from start to finish have been I felt it right to do so. Well done to the foam-away team a well deserved 5 stars from us!

My 86 year old mother in law just had her Spray Foam Removed by Foam Away, when we inquired about removing her Foam, I was very sceptical, however we spoke to a nice man called Daniel and he answered all our questions and arranged a site visit for a surveyor to come a look at the foam. Graham was the surveyor who came to see us, he done all he’s checks and found it had been badly installed and recommended we remove it. He also said that my mother in law would not be able to get Equity Release while the foam was in, this do worry her as she is looking to take some money from the house to give to her grandkids. The team was booked in for 3 weeks, they turned up a bit late due to traffic, but worked really hard for 3 days to remove the foam, very tidy workman and very polite, my mother in law kept them stocked up with cold drinks as it was very hot in the loft. I would like to thank the team at Foam Away for looking after my elderly in law, Good Job 🙏

We have recently had the foam insulation removed from our loft. The whole team were very courteous and worked very long hours to get the job completed in a timely manner.
