Odie pet insurance is the worst co. They never miss collecting there monthly payments which total to about 100.00 per month. But they don't get back to any claims? Ever for months on end, then you get... Voir plus

My dog passed 8 months ago and they renewed my policy?
My dog passed away in March 2025 and ManyPets confirmed my policy was cancelled and refunded my a prorated rate for the remainder of March 2025.
In November just after Thanksgiving, I received a charge on my credit card because apparently Odie (acquired ManyPets at some point) renewed my policy despite my family member passing in March.
I called multiple times with no response, and on December 11 I finally got a hold of a Alyssa, a very nice customer service representative, and she confirmed my policy would be cancelled AND refunded after I provided written confirmation to her. She emailed me with a formal request for written confirmation to cancel the policy and acknowledged my pet had passed and I would get a refund, and I responded to her request thanking her for taking my call and confirming my dog did indeed pass and the policy should never have been renewed.
Today, on December 27, I got charged AGAIN. After checking my account, I never even got my refund from the November charge.
This is ridiculous and distressing. This is not how I want to spend my holidays, chasing down policy cancellations and refunds for a beloved pet who passed 8 months ago.
The worst experience, do not recommend
This is by far the worst pet insurance experience I’ve had.
I was automatically transferred to Odie after ManyPets shut down, without really having a choice. The level of service and professionalism is nowhere near what ManyPets used to offer.
Without any request or authorization from me, Odie changed my address to a completely different one that is not even mine, at a random time. Because of this incorrect address, my premium increased by about 20%, and I was charged more for months for something that is entirely their mistake.
I opened a support ticket more than 2 and a half months ago to get this fixed. Since then:
- No follow-up
- Replies come very irregularly (about once a month)
- When someone finally answers, the response is unhelpful and does not address the issue
This is basic account management, and they are incapable of fixing it or communicating properly.
If this is how they handle something as simple as an address error, I would never trust them with an actual claim, especially for emergency or complex veterinary care.
I strongly do not recommend Odie Pet Insurance and regret being transferred to them.
ManyPets was great, Odie is garbage
Was with ManyPets which was a great provider, Odie bought them and now absolute opposite end of the spectrum. Paying monthly is basically throwing $40 in the trash every month. I have canceled my Odie policy as of today, Thankfully my cat has no major health issues and I can move on. I put in two legitimate claims, one approved, the other denied. The claims took months and months to even pay out/be denied and I was fed up by then.
I decided once the claims resolved I would find a new company to handle my pet's health.
I would go with some better rated insurance companies if you are in the market. This is not it.
I was nervous at first
I was nervous at first, coming over from Many Pets. They are a bit slower to pay claims but have gotten faster in the last couple of months. My pup had surgery Dec 4. It was a condition that Many Oets had covered. I received 2500 today, before I even have to pay my CC bill, so I am happy. They have paid out about $3500 since we were switched to them in March of 2025.
Another Shady Insurance Company
Like many others, I was dumped on Odie after a stellar experience with ManyPets. I had no choice but to stay, as I have a 15 year old cat with anemia and kidney issues, both of which were completely covered under ManyPets. Submitted $6900 in claims, from 9/24/25 through 10/3/25 (had to take my cat into the ER because he had a UTI and blood clotting...he could have died). I did everything right: submitted the invoice, submitted 18 months worth of notes from his specialist and his regular vet. Crickets. I finally sent an email 1.5 months later asking for a status, and the email sat for at least another 3 weeks. Then I get a response back that I need to submit medical records from 18 months prior to my start date with ManyPets. (Were they ever going to tell me this if I hadn't emailed them? Or were they just going to let it sit forever?)I had a feeling this was coming. I read up that Odie doesn't think ManyPets did their due diligence on reviewing records and denying for pre-existing. So Odie is going back to review all medical records prior to your ManyPets policy start date, finding the littlest thing and saying "AH-HAH! Pre-existing. Denied." This is exactly what happened.
Beginning of December, I finally get claim status updates and they are all denied for pre-existing. I spoke to my vet about the line they used from the medical records as "proof" of pre-existing, and my vet was appalled (because it was super gray area). So I decided, forget it. Why pay over $200 a month for nothing. I immediately went to my portal to cancel my plan. Now, this is my fault, but they require you to choose a reason. And the reason I chose was "non-payment." In my head, it was non-payment of claims. But in actuality, it means non-payment of premiums. To my surprise, I received a notice the day after saying my plan was successfully canceled, with a term date of my 1 year in 8/2026 and my full premium will still be charged. Reason being: non-payment.
Realizing my error in cancelation reason will affect my credit when Odie reports "non-payment" to the credit bureaus, I immediately sent Odie an email asking for a correction and demanding my plan cancel immediately with no further premium due (as per my state's addendum in my policy paperwork). I also pointed out the cancelation reason of "non-payment" should not be a choice available to end users, as that's clearly a back-end code. I sent that in 12/4 and as of today, still no response.
If you are stuck with Odie, I'm sorry. If you are looking for an insurance, stay far away. Most insurance companies are awful, but this one takes the cake.
If I could leave, I would
Was formerly with ManyPets, but was sold to Odie. My dog has preexisting health issues locking us in to staying with Odie. Claims are submitted and not acknowledged for weeks. Payments on claims take forever to process and then aren’t the correct amount. Good luck getting a hold of anyone. But don’t worry! They’ll have no problem withdrawing your payments every month. They get paid and we’re left waiting. Every time I have to send in a claim from our Oncology visits, I know it will be months before I ever see a return. ManyPets was the best and I can not be more angry that we’re locked in with this garbage. Stay far away!!
Trying any way to get a response.
I never imagined I’d be in this position as a pet owner. My dog is my family, and when she injured her tail and needed surgery to save it, I did what any loving owner would: I rushed her in and paid out of pocket for the care she needed, trusting that my insurance with Odie would reimburse me in a timely manner.
Weeks later, I’m still waiting for that initial claim to be repaid. My outreach attempts are met only with messages saying “wait times are longer than usual.” Meanwhile, my dog’s injury became infected, and she needed another surgery—again, I paid because I couldn’t let her suffer. Now, I’m genuinely scared, not just for her physical recovery, but for what happens next. My savings are gone, and I simply can’t afford another vet bill without help from Odie. But time is not on my dog’s side—she needs more follow-up care, and without reimbursement, I don’t know how I’ll be able to provide it.
I pay for insurance to be a responsible owner and to make sure my dog never has to go without care. It’s heartbreaking and terrifying to realize I may not be able to give her what she needs, just because my insurance won’t do what it promised. I truly hope no one else finds themselves in this situation. Please, Odie, my dog’s health depends on you keeping your word.
Filed legitimate claims months ago, still waiting
Filed legitimate claims months ago, still waiting for them to be reviewed and paid out. No response to customer service inquiries except form responses saying they have many claims and are backlogged. Really sorry to be stuck with them now, definitely a poor choice for pet insurance.
Everything went downhill after ManyPets was acquired by Odie
We originally had ManyPets and had a great experience. After the acquisition by Odie, the experience completely deteriorated.
I submitted a claim in October 2023. About a week later, I called and initially spoke with a representative who seemed helpful. However, once she requested my pet’s health history, everything went downhill. I personally contacted my vet multiple times to obtain and submit the records on Odie’s behalf, yet I was repeatedly told the information was “not sufficient” without any clear explanation of what was missing.
At one point, Odie claimed they were unable to get in touch with the veterinary clinic. This was especially frustrating, as I had no issue reaching the clinic myself and was able to speak with them directly each time. Despite this, Odie made no meaningful progress and stopped responding altogether.
After following up several times, I was met with complete silence. When I requested that my claim be escalated to a supervisor, I again heard nothing. I eventually informed them that I would be reporting the issue due to the lack of response — and still received no reply.
It has now been months, and my claim has not been approved, denied, or meaningfully reviewed. I have received no updates, no communication, and no resolution. Meanwhile, Odie continues to charge my $59 monthly premium despite not providing the service I am paying for.
Being completely ignored while actively paying for insurance is unacceptable. Based on my experience and what I’m seeing from other recent reviews, slow claims processing and unresponsive support appear to be ongoing issues since the acquisition. I would strongly caution anyone considering Odie Pet Insurance to read recent customer experiences carefully.
If I could give a zero I would!
If I could give a zero I would!
Absolutely horrendous
They never even looked at my claim
I wish 0 stars was available
I wish 0 stars was available. Apparently they took over for Many Pets- never received a notice. Have been trying to get ahold of them for weeks. I waited on the phone for 2 hours and 37 minutes to cancel and then the call dropped :) I’ve emailed several times -with their website saying they’ll respond in 48 hours LIES. There are several reputable companies that care about customer experience - this is one one of them.
Junkies, stay way
I don’t understand how this trash company still in business. They just stealing the money. And also those crooks keep charging my bank for basically doing nothing. This the shame for United States allowing this trash company to be in business. Crooks , thief, useless.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service, been waiting over a week and a half for a call back or email. No response.
Since Many Pets transferred to Odie
Since Many Pets transferred to Odie, it has been a nightmare! Our phone messages go unanswered, we get very few answered email inquiries, none of which have been helpful or useful. Our claims have remained unpaid. One of our dogs is not even listed in the portal as being covered, even though we have paid. We get automated email replies, which are of no help. We have reported them to the Better Business Bureau.
Odie is TERRIBLE
Odie is TERRIBLE! Do NOT use this company! I am stuck with them for the year because I was transferred from ManyPets. Everything people are saying is true: terrible customer service- no one answers the phone and then it hangs up on you as it rings! Wait time is terrible for the claims and they make the claims as CONFUSING as they possibly can! If the Do refund you a claim - it may be lower and different from the amount you actually claimed but their website will say “refunded” with the original amount! You have to read the letter that is in their portal to find out the amount but they do not tell you why/ reasons, etc. ALSO, they list the claims in random order to make it super confusing and no information. I also think they are double billing me but their website is so difficult to find the information- I will have to go back through my credit card bills. I could continue with the list of reasons to STAY AWAY from this company. I am only with them till I can get through my contract year and reimbursements back and plan to cancel them as SOON as they are through. Also - this review makes you give a date but it’s been the ENTIRE year of 2025 that I have had my services with them and hating it EVERY minute!
Scam
I filed 2 claims with them in October. Didn’t hear anything back from them despite the fact that I already submitted all the documents necessary. I followed up with them via emails and phone call. They didn’t return my email nor my call. They are still charging monthly bills. Why keep charging if you are not doing your job?
Odie is a Fraud
HORRIBLE - as everyone is stating I was transferred from ManyPets - I have claims still not processed since September. My suggestion to everyone is to go the the Better Business Bureau website and file a claim against them - I have and instantly got a response within a day or two. My claims aren't processed yet but I'm keeping at it like a dripping faucet - I HATE THIS COMPANY.
Avoid At All Costs
My policy got transferred from Many Pets, they are intentionally delaying claims, not even trying to hide it. Has been over two months since my dog had TPLO surgery and my claim hasn’t been reimbursed. Every new email is another “7-10 days”. They mange to take my money every month on time though. STAY AWAY!
Horrible Customer Service
Absolutely unacceptable customer service. My dog recently underwent a major surgery totaling nearly $7,000, and Odie has been completely unresponsive. Emails go unanswered, phone calls are not returned, and no updates are provided while my claim just sits there.
My claim has been marked as “Submitted” for over two weeks with zero communication. What is the point of having pet insurance if you can’t actually use it when you need it most?
At the very least, I would expect timely updates on the status of my claim. I strongly encourage everyone to look elsewhere when considering pet insurance.
Would give zero stars if I could
Would give zero stars if I could, this company is the worst. Get out now if you can. Our policy was transferred from ManyPets and it is a SCAM. I submitted a claim beginning of October and crickets...DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Miles — how do you plan to help your MANY angry customers?
