Terrible company
Terrible company. The bike took 6 months to arrive from the date it was ordered and every time we enquired, we were fobbed off with excuses such as shipping delays. We then found out that there was a hidden shipping charge which was waived after trying to cancel our order. When the bike arrived, the seat didn't fit, the lights didn't work and the promised accessories were nowhere to be found. At this point we were done and tried to arrange a collection for refund, it never happened, so we had to drive for 2 hours to Reading to return the bike ourselves. It took another 3 months to get the refund sorted through the cycle to work scheme. Cycle scheme has informed us that they have removed gin bikes from their affiliated stores as they are so bad. Can't even review the bike as it never arrived working but this company operates like a scam.

1️⃣ Shipping Delay: We sincerely apologize for the delay in receiving your bike. At that time, global supply chain disruptions affected our shipments, but we have since stabilized the situation and now have all models in stock. During that period, we always offered compensation to affected customers for the inconvenience caused.
2️⃣ Shipping Cost: We would like to clarify that we have never applied hidden fees. Our shipping charge of £49 is transparently communicated at checkout. However, we also offer customers a free pickup option from our warehouse in Reading as an alternative.
3️⃣ Assembly & Bike Condition: Assembly typically takes around 30 minutes, and we provide instructions to guide customers. If the seat didn’t fit or the lights didn’t work, this was likely due to assembly issues, which can occasionally happen. In such cases, we always provide technical support over the phone or detailed video instructions to ensure proper setup. As the bike is brand new, there is no chance of defects from our side, but we are always happy to assist in resolving any issues.
4️⃣ Bike Collection: We are always willing to arrange collections; however, we inform customers in advance that this process takes time as we rely on third-party logistics providers—just like many other businesses. We do not have an in-house logistics team, so scheduling is subject to their timelines.
5️⃣ Refund Process & Cycle Scheme: Since your purchase was made through CycleScheme, we unfortunately do not have the option to process refunds directly. CycleScheme issues a voucher, and when a refund is needed, they are responsible for returning the funds to you, as we do not receive the payment directly from customers.
6️⃣ CycleScheme Partnership: Our collaboration with CycleScheme was temporarily paused due to stock unavailability, which is why we were removed from their affiliated stores. However, since we now have stock, our partnership with CycleScheme will be resuming in the coming weeks.
We understand your frustration, and while we acknowledge the delays you faced, we want to assure you that we are a legitimate company dedicated to improving our service and ensuring customer satisfaction. Gin x electric hybrid bike
Love my Gin x bike now have done over 800 miles, with the power assist makes cycling so much easier. The build quality of the bike is excellent, the only disappointment was the delivery time, the company was very good keeping me updated on the progress of delivery of the bike however.

Good bike giving great value for money.
Just completed 1,000 miles (mainly off road) on my ginx, so I though it would be a good time to give a review. Apart from a puncture and an issue with the kickstand my cycling experience has been trouble free. As for the battery range, my rides have averaged around 30 miles on a mixture of sufaces sometimes with quite steep ascents and I've yet to arrive back home with less than 50% battery remaining. I'm very happy with the bike, especially given the price compared to other similar spec bikes on the market. All in all, a good ebike for road or light off road adventure.

My Gin X Bike arrived in early…
My Gin X Bike arrived in early December. There was a little wait to receive the Bike, but I was advised of the expected date and was happy to wait. The assembly was easy to carry out, I watched the YouTube video available on the website.
I paid a bit extra and went for the sleek display model. Which I am pleased with. Visible in sunlight and can’t be knocked of or damaged like mounted option. Bike rides really well. With the bad weather, I haven’t yet used it to its potential. First impressions are great

Great quality bike.
I received my bicycle 3 months ago, it arrived very well packaged and great delivery service. I am a man of 69 and in semi retirement, I wanted to get out and about but with a helping hand from an electric motor. I absolutely love my ginx it looks great and the build quality is excellent, I am so happy I chose ginx and can't praise them enough for a great quality bike, at a very competitive price many thanks John mctavish 😁

My experience with Gin started back in July (2024) when, after months of research, I've decided to purchase their most popular bike: the Gin X step through. I was worried at first, I didn't know the company, I knew the wait was long. However, Gin's customer service (Marina, Joseph) were contacting me often to update me on the shipment and delivery. So often that I still remember their names. This made me feel confident and put my mind at ease. Yes, the wait is somewhat long - 3 months in my case - but I knew it since the beginning, there were no fake promises from the company.
I've been using my Gin e-bike for 4 months now. It looks cool (both my husband and I can use it), it's sturdy, it's reliable. Just the other day I rode it for 11 miles with minimum effort and I only used the 20% of the full charge.
I also mounted lots of accessories, including my child-seat, which proves how robust is this product. Majority of the accessories are included in the fantastic price: the extra comfy seat, the bags, the rack, the phone older etc...
Do not underestimate the throttle, especially if you are carrying extra weight, this is a must have. Sometimes, on the hill back home, I only use that if I'm too tired to pedal.
Also, the staff at Gin goes above and beyond to support their customers, to answer their questions, and they post frequently suggestions and tips online on how to make the most out of your bike.
I do not miss the chance to recommend this product to anyone who asks about it, as I couldn't make a better choice.

GIN X E-bike - very reliable, great value for money
I bought a GIN X E-bike last year as we were downsizing to one car. As a non-regular cyclist approaching 70, I felt I needed to move to an electric bike. Apart from a minor delay in shipment, the whole process went very smoothly, with the Customer Support team most helpful and very prompt in responding to queries and sorting out any issues. The bike itself is wonderful. Everything I was looking for. I have already clocked up 500 miles during the rainy and cold autumn and winter months, mainly on utilitarian trips (going to shops, appointments, sports centre, etc.), not for leisure riding - I'll save that for the more clement weather! Wherever I go, it has raised plenty of interest and curiosity from bystanders. It has been very reliable, range is excellent, and the boost up hills and away from busy junctions has been much appreciated. I would thoroughly recommend the GIN X-bike to anyone thinking of getting an e-bike. In my view, this one is excellent value for money, punching well above its weight and a match for considerably more expensive models!

A special bike
A wonderful company to deal with and a top product. I have the crossbar model. Having researched all the available products this stood head and shoulders above in terms of specification for the cost and then there are all the accessories! I had a test ride before purchase and was absolutely sold on the product placing an order the next day. Delivery was as agreed and I was kept up to date via email communication including a photograph when the bike was leaving the factory!! Great company to deal with and I've only got great things to say about the product- it goes like a dream and the battery power is incredible.

I purchase a GIN X step-through…
I purchase a GIN X step-through electric bike. Once ordered I was fully kept inform on how my bike was progressing including photo imagery. It arrived on time. It took me around 45 minutes to fully assemble. What a exciting electric bike the GIN X is, fantastic in every way. The support team are on hand to help and advise in any way. Leave a online message and they are quick to get back in touch.
The bike is truly amazing, I have enjoyed every minute of the ride. I have not yet found a negative. Tremendous value when I bought mine.
Can recommend it with confidence.

Waited over 6 weeks for delivery of my gin x 500 bike but it was well worth the waiting for l am over the moon with my bike this is the second electric bike l have owned and the ginx 500 is a far superior blke and almost half the price , l had an issue with the charger and Joseph was very helpfull and sent out a replacement straight away the support staff have been first class

Great company, great bike
Great company, great bike. The customer service as I enquired about the bike was top notch, I was given a date of dispatch if I purchased the bike and the agreement was met. Once the bike arrived the set up was simple and straightforward (however time consuming so set apart a few hours) , the parts are of high quality and have survived a harsh winter or riding over bumpy and muddy terrain almost daily. The battery performance is perfect with the battery being around 50% after about 30km of riding as a tall heavy individual with a heavy backpack going up and down steep hills I could not be more satisfied. One small issue with the bike is the battery meter. It strangely decreases as you cycle leaving you stressed that you are going to run out of charge, this never happens of course and the battery level returns to normal when you stop, I also found the reading a bit inconsistent with some full charges getting me farther than others, but that is a minute and unimportant issue when putting into perspective the price of this bike for such a high quality, very impressed and a shout out to the customer service team they have been stellar throughout.

Regarding the battery meter, we’d like to clarify:
The battery voltage is directly synced with the battery display percentage on the monitor. It’s completely normal for the battery percentage to fluctuate while riding, as the voltage of the battery changes based on usage. Once the bike is stationary for a few seconds, the display monitor will show the correct and optimum battery percentage.
We appreciate your understanding and are glad this hasn’t detracted from your overall experience with the bike. Your feedback helps us improve and ensures that other riders know what to expect.

New Gin Foldable Mobility Bike
As a 67-year-old with a history of health challenges, including eight heart attacks, a double bypass, and six stents, I rely on e-bikes, which I call my "mobility bikes," to maintain an active lifestyle. Recently, I had the pleasure of purchasing the Gin Fold-Up Bike, and it has truly exceeded my expectations.
I folded the bike to fit into my car, which was a straightforward process, and took it to Cleveleys Beach. Once there, I reassembled the bike with ease, adjusted the handlebars and seat slightly for comfort, and set off on an 8 km ride.
The Gin Fold-Up Bike performed flawlessly. The gears shifted smoothly, the power ratio was perfectly balanced, and the overall ride quality was exceptional. It handled the route beautifully, offering a smooth and enjoyable cycling experience.

Very good bikes if you are on the larger size. These bikes are medium to larger size, so if you need a slightly smaller frame at the very least try the bikes beforehand to see if you can ride comfortably. I found mine to big and a little heavy. So, had to go back.

Thank you for your message. I want to assure you that your refund was initiated a week ago (we have just replied you via email and attached a screenshot). However, due to the balance situation on our Stripe account, the amount will be withdrawn from our NatWest account, and unfortunately, we are unable to speed up the process as Stripe handles the timing of the transfer.
That said, if the refund does not arrive in your bank account within the next week, we will try to cancel the process through Stripe and manually transfer the money to you to ensure you receive it as soon as possible.
We sincerely apologize for the delay and understand the frustration this may have caused. We are doing everything we can to ensure the refund is processed as soon as possible.
Regarding your comments on the bike size, we recommend all potential customers take advantage of our test rides to ensure they choose the right frame size. Additionally, we have recently launched a folding bike, which is smaller in size and designed to be more convenient for those who prefer a lighter, more compact option.

The bike is very good.
The bike is very good.
The build quality is excellent.
Putting the bike together was easy with very good videos to guide me through the process.
It came with lots of accessories, soft gel seat, rear light, which I replaced with a brighter rechargable unit. The pannier bags would be great for shopping of touring, but as I will not be doing this I just bought a small bag to strap in the rear rack.
I only managed 130 miles before the winter weather set in, but the more I used it the better the riding experience was.
Most of the time I leave in third gear and power setting two. I only needed more power to get up steeper hills [ not to many of thoughs in south Norfolk ]. Getting the balance between power setting and gear selection soon became easy.
Range wise, I actually contacted the company because I thought the battery indication was faulty as it did not appear to be showing ay decrease in capacity as I put the miles on. But it did show a drop after around 40 miles, and still had plenty left.
I would not be surprised if it was possible to get 80 miles+ on a full charge at level two power setting.
The bike is quite heavy, as are all battery bikes, but that soon disapears once in motion.
The abilty to set off at junctions using the throttle will be great for older riders [ not allowed in the uk though ].
One thing the company needs to improve is the communication with buyers. I ordered mine in July and was told I would get weekly updates on build and delivery progress. I did not receive any, and had to contact Gin several times to find out what was happening, it arrived late October. This is the reason I give this review 4 stars and not 5.
Having said that they have contacted me a few times since it arrived to ask if everything was ok and if I was enjoying the riding experience.

Very pleased with my new Gin E bike.
Very pleased with my new Gin e bike. Excellent quality and impressed with its performance, especially with the battery assist and how far you can go between charges.
I’m no spring chicken and the help it gives on long steep hills has changed my outlook on cycling generally.
The Gin team have been great and helpful throughout, I cannot fault them. They even contact me every now and then to check all is going well.
The only downside side is you have to be prepared to wait for your bike, as they are built to order, which with all the extras was outstanding value.
Suppose you have to wait for all the best things life.

Despite a 3 month wait the bike is finally here! It is amazing a really excellent ebike . Looks and rides brilliantly. It was a close call about giving just 4 stars due to the wait for the bike but the quality has negated that hence 5 stars.
