Gin X E Bikes

Ordered 2 Gin X E Bikes and received great communication from the minute we ordered them. Bikes were delivered after a couple of weeks and accessories delivered a week later. The Bikes are simply Great for our purpose and we are loving getting out and about on them.

Had a long wait to get the bike but when the company had them in stock the delivery was very fast. We'll packaged easy to ensemble great bike very happy accessories where delivered a week later as promised. Thank you

The bike seems very well made and for the price a good investment. Problem is the waiting time which for me was just shy of 3 months. They would be far better either holding stock rather than calling off a number or being up front about the actual delivery time.

The GIN Ebike is easy to assemble

The GIN Ebike is easy to assemble. Controls are user friendly. The bike is heavier than a traditional bike due to the large capacity battery and motor.
A longer seat post is required for riders 6ft 3in or taller.
The motor provides assistance as soon as the rider starts pedalling. The power setting is easy to adjust.

3 months of mainly silence...

After tripping over themselves to promise me the bike of my dreams I experienced 3 months of mainly silence on a 4 to 6 week delivery estimate.
When I eventually gave up chasing them due to more and more vauge responses and requested a refund they insisted this was a cancellation and wanted to charge me a 6% fee.

A company that promised much and delivered nothing but wasted time, stress and disappointment in my case.

Edit 25th June... The reply gives a very good idea of the extremely polite gaslighting I have been met with. There was NO delivery to refuse. Am I expected to let this company hang onto my full payment indefinitely or pay a penalty for their failure to provide my goods. As it is I am out of pocket already due to having to delay plans that required use of the bike.

This is a company that seem to not have the most basic grasp of consumer rights and contract law. I have therefore had to appeal to a higher authority to solve my particular problem.

The structure of the bike itself and…

The structure of the bike itself and the parts used are impressive (apart from the motor isn't the quietest) but the time it takes to get to the uk after payment is an issue. Would make more sense if the cargo rack was fitted and checked for quality and accuracy of alignment aswell.
Although I'm obviously not one hundred percent satisfied, I have to say that the staff at your company have responded to my emails and have always tried to put things right.

High quality bike at good price

Good quaility components and easy to assemble. I had to make only slight adjustments to brakes and gears. Hydraulic brakes are very good. Ride, handling and battery life are very good. Design is excellent. Overall, very pleased.

Right here we go

Right here we go there just digging themselfs in to a deeper hole of lies. My bike turned up today after 13 weeks of waiting after being promised by there CEO 3 to 4 weeks. Lie no 2 all this crap over boat being diverted couple of quick calls yer there full of it. Then videos go up and there own CEO showing the sleek display saying this is what you will recieve. My bike has the old display so get on to them via e mail to be told via there own customer service we was given the option to change our order over ( ive checked every e mail from them there is no such e mail) not that they kept in touch i had to chase them all the time. Then there was an e mail saying here some me upgrades that they didnt want us to miss out on and its taking abit longer. Then i was told i was given the option for a full refund check all e mails nothing of the sort. Then was told boats in port and awaiting to be unloaded and checked via customs. So give them aweek why i done some ringing about (ps i work for uk customs there was no ship docked or anythink on the manifests) so the week after i was told the ship was waiting to dock so would be another week this is via email so a quick call i told them boat should be docked as i was told by them it was docked then all of a suddern phone goes dead and now no one is picking up another call the boat is no where near being docked. Ok so blah blah 3 4 weeks later bike arrives and got it on e mail all the extras and pannier bag will be delivered same time as the bike ohhh look only bike delivered. Start building it ohhh look its the old display not the new one. So quick call and ohhh yes more lies i didnt order the sleek display. There was option 2 after all the e mails no where does it state i was given the option to. But in the ceo video he states all the bikes will come with the sleek display. So i downloaded the full website and there is no link or nothing to the sleek display. E mail back with a website link to sleek display which was uploaded late this afternoon with the web address on it as 2023 mmm he only brought the video out in 2024 and saying this was a brand new and hes glad to bring it to us and all gin bikes will get the sleek display. So i check there site that i have downloaded and guess what ohh it wasnt on there. So call to a solicitor i no he goes on there website and agrees nope there is nothing on there what so ever. So first thing monday morning i will be on the phone to tradeing standards amd see a solicitor tuesday morning. Apart from all this the bike seems ok but there is nothing special about it and the company is herrendous no one answers its just lies after lies after lies. I have no idea why the reviews are all good but about long waiting times and all these u tube reviews are all full of it as there all on comission to hype the bike up so they recieve comission and if they say there not on anything or they have bought the bike themselfs there also full of it there all paid to get comission i can tell you this, this is one company i will never use or buy from again. Im disabled to which they no and think am stupid. I will update this when i get the extras an my pannier bag that i paid for. So i hope they see this and lets see what they say about this or what lies they say - update to below there was never any mention on price for the sleek display all that was mentioned is all gin bikes will now have the sleek display and also it was lie after lie after lie and 2 weeks this 2 weeks that

Gin X review

I had seen a few negative reviews regarding delivery times being quite long so I factored this in when I ordered my Gin X in January, I’m a fair weather rider so guessed I would have it by spring, it was actually delivered in April which was fine for me.
The weather has been atrocious so I hadn’t really been out for a proper ride until lately (mid June).
The bike is fantastic, it’s very solidly made and has top quality components for a very reasonable price.
I bought the green day sale so it came with all the extras, well worth another £100. I’ve ridden just over 80 miles so far, I have charged the battery once but It looks like the average range is going to be over 100 miles on one charge, obviously this depends on which power assist you’re using and weight.
The guys at Gin have been very supportive, Joseph kept me informed regarding delivery and followed up after delivery to see if I needed help. I did mention to Joseph that , unlike me, who didn’t mind waiting for the bike, others will be frustrated with the delivery times. He advised that Gin are now increasing their monthly stock delivery which should make it better, I certainly hope so, as this company looks like it’s worked hard to produce a quality product at a very fair price, and they deserve to do well.

I ordered and paid for the bike in February.
Seventeen weeks later June 20th I have still not received the bike despite being told it would only be another week before delivery on numerous occasions.The business practice of taking money for a bike that does not exist is appalling business practice.

Wait time for bike was the most…

Wait time for bike was the most annoying part. I rang up to enquire before purchasing how long the wait time was for delivery. I was informed 3 weeks! I think if they were honest from the beginning and managed expectations then it would be acceptable, but to lie and to continue with excuse after excuse is a real negative.
When the bike arrived 17 weeks after order it was missing the pannier bag, however, this was sorted out very promptly. Communication is very prompt.
Bike is excellent for commuting to work. Battery life if great. Overall I am very happy with purchase.

Although delivery took longer than…

Although delivery took longer than expected this was more down to world events than the companies ability to deliver on time. The bike came well packed and clear video instruction accompanied this available via the web. The bike once assembled performed as described although the 500 watt doesn’t appear to have the range I expected.the bike is sturdy and suitable for a number of terrains on my commute via roads and cycle tracks. The price is very competitive and quality is above the comparative range available . Overall rating Good .

Pinocchio at heart

Full payment made on the 19th March via Klarna.
Email received 9/4/2024 by a one Kevin B "we have some exciting updates to share. Your e-bike is ready and all set in our overseas factory. The bike is supposed to be shipped out anytime now! 🙂"
Email received 16/4/2024 Your GIN X e-bike has left our factory finally. And now are all set to sail to our local warehouse. This is very exciting news for both you and us - for you because it is not long ago now that you should be owning an electric bicycle yourself!

Now, our international shipping forwarder takes the charge. They will connect the vessel and the shipment so that the container leaves the overseas port on time.

On average, the sailing time is around 2 weeks if everything else goes on well.
Email 23/04/2024 by a one Arlyn P Your batch of bikes are running slightly delayed because of a few of the major upgrades we are doing. As you know we are very passionate about your satisfaction and we do not want to compromise on the quality of the GIN X ebike.

These are the major upgrades that has been performed:
1) Now GIN X ebike has "anti-puncture tyres"
2) Throttle is now easily detachable from the handlebar and is no more attached to the horn
3) The speed limitations can be locked and unlocked in 8 seconds with push of few buttons
4) The headlight is also upgraded now to a more powerful lumens
5) Standard bottle holder

I hope you understand the importance of these upgrades and we definitely do not want you to miss them!

Your bike is currently en route and to our UK port is expected to arrive very soon. Based on the estimated shipping time, we expect the bike to arrive at our location in approximately 2-3 weeks.

This was a complete and utter Lie, it was at this point I started seeing red flags, people the upgrades he spoke about above come as standard from stock. I gave them three weeks before i said i would be looking to cancel order. Remember they had said it had left the factory , all set to sail to our local warehouse, how can they recall it ? guessing the ship did a u turn, or as someone mentioned due to the long! delivery times the rowing boats!
Email 24/4/2024 Arlyn I would like to apologize for the delay in getting your bike delivered to you. We want to assure you that your bike is in the final stages of production and will be shipped from our overseas factory very soon. So to do the required upgrades all taking less than 7mins work puts the bike back into a production stage. Again it's just a pattern of excuses and lies.

Waited over 8 weeks for a bike to arrive before requesting a refund. Klarna are investigate, to which the case will be escalated as Gin X are not communicating with them at all. I asked Klarna what the hold up was on my case and they said they are still waiting for gin x to respond to them. Two weeks.. So many emails So many excuses and lies. Tried to keep emotions out of the review. But if your on the market for a bike that could be delivered for this xmas , then gin x is not the bike for you. This review is purely on the poor customer service the business has offered me and not on their product. I find it funny they say they pride themselves on good customer experience but the events that has led to this review has been anything but. Even to the point where my emails go unresponded now. They will however find time to reply to this email, stated issues in the red sea, secured a new round of investment which should reduce the delays and my favourite all time great lie. We apologise .

Great bike, excellent customer service and a great price. Thank you.

I have to say I had a few small issues which you would with any new company but they were dealt with fast and in a very professional manner. The customer service is excellent even down to Rahul paying me a visit one day. You will not get this with most companies small or large. The bike is amazing for such a great price. I will recommend this bike to anyone. Those complaining about the delay with delivery need to understand that as these bikes are so good at at this price the demand has been massive so it all takes time plus issues in the Red Sea do not help anyone shipping wise at the moment. Be patient as it’s well worth the wait. Thanks a lot

I highly recommend this bike

I've been riding the GIN X e-bike for a few weeks now, and overall, I'm impressed. The build quality is solid, with a sturdy alloy frame and a sleek matte black finish. The 250W motor and 650 WH battery offer decent performance, making my daily commutes smooth, though the battery removal can be a bit tricky. The hydraulic disc brakes work well, even in wet conditions, and the suspension fork handles bumps better than expected. For its price, it's a fantastic option for commuting or leisure rides.
