In the transition to the new insurance…
In the transition to the new insurance provider, my coverage changed from coastal to inland waters so my boat would not have been covered by the policy. Luckily, I checked my documents and called to have this corrected, This was done immediately and without issue, so I am happy with the outcome, but it should not have happened at all.

The change to RIPE has been unsettling.
The change to RIPE has been unsatisfactory. I have been with GJW for many years but instead of simply continuing the regular payments as previously there has been a slew of new stages to complete and at times I was unsure if it was real or a scam - I found it disturbing. It has left me very unhappy with the new arrangements to the point where I will look at other insurers for next year. I also found the fees charged, the upfront payment requested and the total excess cost for using this method surprising. Try another marine insurer or pay in one.

I am sorry to hear this.
Previously GJW Direct did not offer an automatic renewal method and so you would have had to renew each year.
Monthly instalments are now provided by a third party credit provider and so a deposit would be required for the first year, however each renewal would then be 10 equal instalments.
You do also have the option to pay in full if you wish.
I can seen you have chose to renew with us and so it is great you decided this.

Have always had great service BUT!!!
Have always had great service. We had to make a claim recently and were really impressed with how well it was dealt with. Unfortunately renewing the policy has been a nightmare. We thought we renewed chased it to be told it was renewed. Sent several emails no response. Then told it was renewed then email not renewed. Several calls, no data protection on telephone call. Renewed reluctantly but too much hassle to find another insurer within a day.

GJW have adopted 2FA (Two Factor Authentication).
This is a major inconvenience.
My security is my responsibility, no-one else's. I have never been consulted on, nor agreed to, using 2FA and I make a point of giving negative feedback to any company which imposes it upon me.

Too complicated and sent multiple websites
1. Why do I need a password that is 15 characters long. What's the worst that can happen if someone logs on in my name - they can attempt to cancel my policy and you'll notify me.
2. Why do I have to put my password and a code in at every stage.
View renewal - Password and code,
View personal details - Password and code,
Change address - Password and code,
Renew insurance - Password and code.
