Thank you for your honest review.
We kindly ask you to understand that when it comes to parts, especially as in your case door mechanisms, there are many types of them on the UK market (over 300). The cost depends on the brand, size, age, type and country it's made in. The price that was paid for the mechanism is a standard cost for that type and you were not overcharged in any way.
Regarding the lock, you were fitted with a high security anti-snap, anti-drill and anti-pick lock which of course cost a bit more than standard locks, but are great security wise and protect your home much better.
I hope this explanation clarifies the costs and we would greatly appreciate if you were to change the star rating, as we work extremely hard to support such a high score on our reviews here.

Came within the time frame, quickly changed the barrel. Was a bit pricey and failed to mention the VAT but overall a good job

Not what I had hoped for.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t happy with the overall service provided. From the start, the locksmith pointed to a dent on door frame and stated, you won’t be blaming me for that! (Why would I?!)
Then charged a lot for a whole new lock but when it came to installation, tried to only fit part of the lock as “I didn’t need a lock change”.
Paid a lot of money for service which wasn’t matched. Even if there is an issue with the new lock, I wont be using the warranty - I would rather go elsewhere.

I apologise that you did not receive the service that you had hoped for. An investigation has been led into this case and I would like to explain the situation and provide a conclusion.
Regarding the dent, it was in no way an accusation. Unfortunately, customers sometimes don't notice dents and cracks in their walls, and then blame us, even though it was there before our arrival. This is why the technician made you aware that there is a dent on the wall, only for your understanding.
Regarding the mechanism that you have - it is quite a unique part which is now obsolete and is not even made in the UK, it's from Germany. Usually, with the problem you had on the door, the whole strip requires replacing (retail price is over £475 before tax), but because our technicians are trained professionals, he found a solution where he saved you money, as well as solving the issue and fixing it in a professional manner. The locksmith genuinely gave the best result he could in your case, therefore I hope the explanation above clarifies his work.

I contacted ziggy after been let down by other company. He came out very quickly arrived at the time he said he would.
Fixed the mechanism on our UPVC Front door. Brilliant service if u need locksmith don't hesitate to contact ziggy.
