We started Goodnature for good reason: to see endangered wildlife in New Zealand and around the world flourish again. This means getting on top of a bunch of pests - rats, stoats and possums for starters. We also want to go about it kindly, without using nasty toxins. That’s why we develop humane traps that automatically reset and are easy and safe to use.

Hasn’t worked yet
Quick delivery and great communication, however the trap hasn’t performed as well as the cheap little trap we put in after the GoodNature. Perhaps in time.

We pay but no dispatch
We pay the day we order, put the correct detail on the payment, yet we have to chase up the dispatch! this is 2 out of 2 orders in the last 2 months

Did not do what it was claimed to do
Did not do what it was claimed to do, my $3 wooden rat trap caught 4 rats and your one which was about 200mm away did absolutely nothing.

Hi Craig, often you will find that snap traps catch more than the A24 when set next to each other. This is due to a metric used in studying animal behaviour called the interaction to kill ratio.
The design of the two traps, the Goodnature Trap and the snap trap, are obviously quite different and require different interactions. The Goodnature Trap is designed to humanely kill target species, not kill non-targets and reset itself. In order for it to do this, the Goodnature Trap requires more interaction from the rodents than a snap trap requires (a higher trigger threshold). Having the snap traps positioned right next the Goodnature Traps, it is likely the rodents will be enticed into the snap trap before they have the chance to interact with the Goodnature Trap.

Waste of time and money
Waste of time and money. Seven rats in my hen house and caught 1, seen rats in the garden and only caught 2. I had more luck with Elliot traps and they don't need batteries nor CO2. Also apparently I now need a new iPhone to use the app. Also need internet to make it work.. My weather data collector just uses bluetooth to phone and iPad. As a programmer I can't believe that people write software that needs the net.

Hi there, I'm sorry to hear you haven't had success with your A24. There could a lot of different factors contributing to your trap not catching and we would be more than happy to help you! In regards to the Chirp, the app doesn't require an internet connection to sync with the Chirp but your phone will need to be a iPhone 6S or higher running iOS 15 or higher to be able to operate - Thomas
Goodnature trap ordered online
I ordered the Goodnature trap and stand for my Mum - Noelene. She had seen the Goodnature traps advertised in the DomPost. It was very nice to see the Goodnature trap was on sale and even though the stand was not on sale, we still thought it was good to have a stand so my Mum didn't have to touch a dead rat. I also telephoned 0800 call centre to check on a few details. Ordering online was very easy. My Mum was desperate - rats in her ceiling and she didn't know how many. She had also bought bait and wasn't sure whether the bait would work. The Goodnature trap was delivered within 7 business days. My Mum did get a handyman to put it together and set it up. Overall, we both thought we had had a good experience and would be interested in ordering another trap.

Under hut rat …
Trap went to off grid hut at Stewart island. Happy Fat rat seen under hut and trap deployed overnight. Unhappy dead rat located in the morning. Success!

Great product and great customer service
Purchase and delivery is fast and easy
The A24’s we bought are great traps; easy to set up and easy to replace the gas and lure
We plan to purchase 50 to reduce rats and using the A24’s mean that we don’t have to check them every month

We have 3 traps active, all of which need replenishing at the moment. We would like to see a cost-effective bulk purchase option to enable us to buy more lures and deal to more rodents!
