GoSimpleTax Avis 

In prior years the filing was quick and straightforward. GST seems to have changed everything and is now running things on a Commodore-64 computer. It kept losing data that I had entered; there was no consistency between my process and that for my wife; and it continually said it was waiting for a response from a website (often shown as TikTok or Facebook!) when, in fact, I had to scroll to the top of the page and click on another button (with no helpful prompt from GST). What took around 15 minutes in prior years took well over an hour this year, and I am not entirely convinced that what they have filed is going to be complete and correct.

As simple as it is possible to make a submission to HMRC. All the help file links appear when you need them. Instructions are provided for all the information and where to find it. Overall a very easy program to follow

It works pretty well. Property insurance crops up twice, however - a bit odd. Perhaps support could contact me please.

Its just makes the tax submission process so much easier , especially as you can use last years tax submission as a basis . It now only took me 30 minutes from start to finish !

Insane pricing 85.98 UKP, and an unintuitive system, no AI, no suggestions on how to save tax, which it is advertised as doing. No easier than a paper return. The system is very slow online.

I have used GoSimple Tax for the last 9 yaers, simple to use, remembers what I need each year. Only needed support once which timely and helpfull.

1. The major problem was a software glitch, which took several days to correct sufficiently to allow submission to HMRC. The internal gosimpletax SA302 still showed the error, however.
2. Dropdown boxes aim to make completion simple, but do not make clear exactly what is being written on the form, so filling is uncertain.
3. I have cancelled my subscription for time and work lost and trust that Gosimpletax will honour the difficulties caused by not charging me the full one-time use price. I will reclaim it, if they do.

Avoid! A poor customer service if something goes wrong.

I was on a subscription for a few years when I was working, but after I retired I missed the email reminder and the payment went through. Even though I have no need to submit a tax return this year I have been charged. Despite multiple emails to their customer services team all you get is a meaningless AI response. All together a very poor customer experience from a previous regular customer who’s situation has changed.

1st May update. Your reply apologises that the service wasn’t ‘ideal’. This could easily be remedied by simply refunding me the money paid in advance for a service I will not use this year.

Very easy system to use, gives basic advice on the tax return and makes everything easy to calculate and see before submitting.

Easy and quick

This is such a great bit of software for a small business owner like me. It made the process of submitting my tax return so easy and straight-forward, taking all the stress out of an essential part of running your own business.
It has saved me hundreds of pounds in unnecessary accounting fees.

I have used them for three years and they are easy to use. This year I no longer need them and cancelled the service after seeing a payment of $161 go out of my account. Apparently, even though I will not be using the service this tax year they won't refund me because I was on the autopay option. What a joke!
Be VERY CAREFUL when you chose this company. DONT do anything on autopay. They will take your money and not care.

As UK non-resident, I found GoSimpleTax is very easy to use to file UK income and UK residential property rental income. However, I found that to file UK non-resident SA108 CGT of UK residential rental property with GoSimpleTax is very confusing. I spent many hours via their online e-mail tax support to file UK NRCGT. I also found that HMRC gov.uk notes on NRCGT are cryptic and equally confusing related to SA108 form boxes 52.1 through 52.5, specifically if your NRCGT is negative. My recommendation is that GoSimpleTax should provide their support via telephone appointment or online screen sharing if the issue is not resolved after multiple e-mails. In addition, GoSimpleTax should assign a same person to respond to e-Mail tax query rather then different person for a same e-mail query.

As usual, easy to use and good values for money.
Validation was new this year and I did have difficulties uploading my passport.
