This company used Amazon shipping
This company used Amazon shipping. I avoid using Amazon and don't buy from them, so this was strike one. Strike two - their data protection protocols appear to be abyssmal. I ordered a book and my son, who does not live with me, received a text notification of the Amazon delivery time, as did I on a number I did not provide to them. Since the order was given as a one off & 2 of the phone numbers they used for the Amazon delivery notification were not provided at that point and one of them was not even mine, they must be obtaining data from somewhere, presumably Amazon.

"1 Star" is required but is "1 More" than I would offer in reality! Book arrived badly damaged. The packaging was a flimsy grey plastic bag.. Posted ( forced) through the door letterbox... Response for complaint non existent....They trade via Abebooks who were very responsive and apologetic ,. eventually informing me they can get no response from this company either!.initiating a return and refund via themselves ( not followed this yet)...I wish I had looked for reviews on this so called book supplier prior to ordering.... Given the amount of complaints here I also wonder why Abebooks are still involved with this trader and therefore any repeat of this means of book buying will not be happening!!

Firstly the book I ordered through abe arrived and seems to be okay. But greatbookprices used Amazon Shipping UK. It was pouring with rain and having been advised of the delivery I stayed in to make sure I was in to receive it. Received a text during the afternoon from the driver saying he had left the package by my bins in the front garden. If he knocked on the door neither the dog or I heard it. When I checked the package it went through the letter box. I am very very angry a having wasted my day for no reason. Sellers are responsible for their choice of carrier - avoid greatbookprices and Amazon shipping UK if at all possible
A book with 50 missing pages, AI but no human response
I received a book with 50 missing pages but 50 duplicates of the prior 50 pages. My complaints are getting immediate responses of duplicate answers of a 90 day limit for exchange or refund, that must be AI.
So missing pages, wasted cost (full price), not even a human to respond. Meaning purchasers from Abebooks should immediately count book pages?
Never buy from this company.
This is a terrible place to buy Christian books. They have terrible customer service and no returns.

Ironic that the name is GreatBookPrices, a book I was interested in was at £38 new, £40 used but unread and in comparison £31 on the US giant who I don't like promoting or using unless I have to (I buy local if I can) and £35 direct from the UK publisher. If you are going to call yourself great book prices you really need to live up to it. I certainly do not expect from the same seller to see a book "used but unread" more expensive than brand new which they are also selling - this seller obviously does not check their own prices. Its always worth checking used book prices - many sellers are not competitive with the best new prices which is a shame for the environment.
2 special editions shipped in plastic bag.
Ordered through Abe books. 2 expensive special edition books. They arrived in a PLASTIC BAG. No padding, no protection, nothing. The package was even torn open for good measure when it arrived. The book edges and corners are obviously damaged now, because they were shipped with no protection at all. A Special edition book in a plastic bag. I just can't get over it, honestly. This is disgusting.

I have emailed them 4 times and all I get is an automated response which obviously has nothing to do with my order as the response says saying about Yodel, and the order says the delivery company is PPX. This was an expensive book and there was a long delivery time anyway and now I still have no book

Useless. I needed to amend my delivery address and sent three messages - which they ignored. Goodness knows where the book will end up (if they sent it at all).
Concerned About Unauthorized Book Sales by Great Book Prices
To my relief, I noticed that the seller has since vanished from eBay. I’m curious if anyone else has encountered similar issues with this seller or knows what ultimately happened to them. It’s crucial that we protect authors' rights, and I hope eBay takes stronger action against unauthorized sellers in the future. JMO

Ordered a local atlas from Abe Books on May 20th but I later noticed that the seller was greatbookprices. I'm positive the tracking# provided is bogus. It states that the item arrived at my local postal facility (located literally 4 miles from my house) on June 10th but now, mysteriously, it's on it way to the next postal destination and arriving late. I have requested a refund because I know I will never receive this item.
Terrible experience, do not trust them
Terrible experience, suggest you not buy there. I placed an order for a book from them on eBay on May 15th. Unfortunately the shipping was not going to get processed and sent until weeks later so i attempted to cancel on the same date. Reply from them was first, cannot find the order. Then later, it is too late to cancel. Now of course i can return it to them at my expense. This is a terrible way to treat their customers and would suggest everyone find books somewhere else.

Please avoid this seller. My order was delivered to a wrong address and got lost so I had to contact their customer service to work out a solution to this unfortunate situation. My order was with Whistl but when I first contacted them, I received an email from their customer service that mentions Yodel tracking in the first part, and in the second part asks me to check my local post office as if any of those delivery services knew anything about my parcel. Then they sent me another email saying that they "are currently reviewing" my request. After the second email there was no response from them even though I sent a few courtesy reminders. In the end I managed to get a refund but only because I contacted Abebooks about it and they were able to help me. I would think twice before buying anything from Greatbookprices if I were you. They offer affordable prices but they are not worth the ordeal that you will go through if something goes wrong with your order.
Don't trade with them
Journal bought as a gift arrived damaged. I paid to send back the item (Tracked signed for). It arrived to their warehouse on16/4 and they are still saying I have to ship it back. Sent an email to them, only to get a reply from a bot... now they should pay me the royal mail fees and them item, but I think I'll probably get none. Greatbookprices is the same company as Abebooks.

International dropshipping through a UK registration
Canned response after canned response - ordered via AbeBooks believing they were based in the UK (as they claim), only to find it was being shipped from Illinois, USA??? It's been a month and 5 days - it was due to take between 4-11 days to arrive.
Amazingly, the book did get to the UK! Only to turn around at the border and be sent back to Illinois, according to the tracking number.
AbeBooks is equally completely unhelpful - they can't process a refund at all as the product is marked as 'shipped'. When asking for updates/refund requests from AbeBooks, I receive the same email template with zero formatting asking for the same details I've supplied twice already.
Insane process. I just wanted a specific cover of a book. Weirdly, I did recieve the second and third books in the trilogy (same cover style) with no problem at all from another seller.

I wish I could give zero stars. This book seller told me twice my order was cancelled and refunded. It wasn’t. They lied to eBay to have negative feedback removed. This is a garbage company.
Ordered a book but incorrect one arrived.
Ordered a book. They sent the wrong one so I requested a refund. First told refund would be made, then a few days later advised they will not refund until I send the book back and pay postage. I went away for a short break the day I received that email, but got chased to return.
I asked if they did have the correct book I had ordered, but no response. Having read the reviews this company shouldn't be on Abebooks.
I won't be using again.
