Absolutely awful

Absolutely awful! How do these people get away with it! I thought it was just our claim with Axa that has been mishandled. I can see from these reviews it’s not! My car was hit by a digger while it was parked on my drive and the operator agreed it was his fault. 2 years 5 months later still not sorted. Axa have passed the buck on to Horwich Farrelly who insisted the case had been sent to court - twice! We have since been told this was NOT TRUE by their own Operations Manager. It’s supposedly Now been sent to court for a 3rd time - which is in fact the 1st time !!! Having waited another 2 months I approached HF for news. Nothing!

I got told in November that this company was making a payment we in February nearly March no payment I ring up get fobbed off n told someone would ring never do I would avoid this company as I believe there scammers and fraudists

Very rarely do I write a review

Very rarely do I write a review, however, the service (lack of) received from H-Fhas been totally abysmal. Admiral do not seem concerned that their Solicitor is operating in such a poor way either. My claim had been ongoing for over two and 1/2 years with no updates, no communication, no progression even when multiple emails are sent to Arbab Tariq and Leonie Derbyshire (Team Leader). After an email was sent advising that I was taking further action an apologetic email was received along with the promise of action! A couple of emails and then again silence. I have requested copies of all correspondence and telephone conversations so that a file can be prepared, this will be sent to the Insurance Ombudsman and SRA. This information is still outstanding.
Even Partners of H-F do not seemed concerned!
Admiral eventually raised a complaint on my behalf, H-F could not event follow their own complaints process. Time line not met, nothing until I chased them up. For everyone else - DO NOT USE!

I’d give zero stars if I could

I’d give zero stars if I could. We were informed by our insurer these had been instructed May 2023. This is a straightforward case where liability is established, we’re not at fault, there was no personal injury and no hire car. So liability is not in dispute and there are only vehicle repairs to settle.
It is still unresolved. There is no communication and when you call they will outright lie to you and mislead you. To add insult to injury, whilst we remained polite on the phone the lady we spoke to was incredibly rude and hung up on us! It’s incredibly unprofessional and I do not know how they’re permitted to continue operating. I urge everyone to complain to both the Legal Ombudsman and the SRA regarding their conduct.

Shambolic

My insurance company Aviva appointed solicitors to act for me. Admiral appointed this shambolic lot for the other side. They failed over 22 months, on any level whatsoever, to mediate or engage. Then cynically and deliberately allowed claim to proceed to Court. Time, stress, and anxiety for all concerned, and racking up god knows what in costs. They then failed to show up in Court on the appointed date with no notice, or any representation whatever. They lost. Admiral should sack them forthwith.

Started court proceedings against a…

Started court proceedings against a company that I formed in 2024 and not yet traded, for an accident that was in 2022. We've no vehicles yet.

Solicitors should do their due dilligence before commencement of any legal proceedings!

Absolutely useless. Avoid at all costs!

December 2025 update: no progress. None what so ever. I should have gone with my gut and asked for a new solicitor back in September.

"Manager" Leoni Darbyshire urgently requires some training in client communication, lacking in professionalism and losing composure during our call.

"Solicitors" within the company are incapable of attaching received files to cases or forwarding onto the allocated solicitor. I have had to tell them they have received the evidence they having been chasing for 6 moths. Ive had to tell them which solicitor it was sent to from my insurance company and on what date. Its beyond me why they have not been able to pick up and phone and get this information themselves. It's further beyond my understanding how their internal communication can be so bad as they have not shared the info among themselves.

I honestly think I'd do a better job representing myself.

Sept 2025.
Case is moving at a snails pace, asking me for evidence that insurance company has already provided. They don't seem to have the capacity top pick up a phone to call my insurance company.

Ill be complaining to my insurance company and see if we can change to a more professional firm.

Avoid

Completely unprofessional, painfully slow, and zero sense of urgency and communication. I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this firm if you value your time, sanity and money.

Bunch of cowboys

This firm shows a lack of professionalism a lack of communication and a total lack of knowledge.. ignored emails, addressing me as Mr Michael in stead of Mr Redfern. They are a complete joke

Unprofessional and discourteous

I would give zero stars if I could. They were employed by our insurer to recover money from a 3rd party insurer, Tesco who refused to pay the repair bill when someone backed into our car which was stationary. They told us we had to attend court on 22/07/25 even though there was no question about liability. On the 21st July I checked with our insurer if the claim had been settled-they contacted HF who informed them that it had, however they had failed to let us know-so we would have driven an 80 mile round trip for nothing. Jamie Sanna failed to reply to any of our emails asking for updates. An unprofessional company with discourteous employees. Avoid having anything to do with them.

Waiting to take my crash to court but…

Waiting to take my crash to court but now Sana Nazir can't be bothered. She tells me they have sent letters to my address, if you have why have I not received them? Avoid this scam company and actually get a proper solicitor

Impossible to get hold of

They contacted my elderly father re litigation against him. I have sent them 2 emails, rung 3 times and spoken to someone who has promised that the person in question, Danny Fulton, will call me back and, over one month later, he still hasn't.

Intimidated before my small claims appearance

I made a small court claim against a property company.
Claim Number 420MC925 to be heard on 3/2/25
The defendant appointed Horwich Farrelly as their defence solicitors.
I received a letter from the female Debt Recovery Partner together with a bill for over £2,000 , a sum in excess of my original claim against their client.
A detailed analysis of the bill was attached comprising four pages and signed by the above mentioned partner.
I was utterly disgusted by their behaviour.
There is little point in them apologising.
I will be reporting them to the Law Society
