We have had the pleasure of working with Charlotte, Jamie and Rich whilst buying our house. From the start, the no-pressure approach to showing us the houses available was perfect. Charlotte is knowledgeable about the houses and the work Harron do to create their beautiful homes. We knew right away we wanted to buy a home with Harron and Charlotte truly deserves the credit for this. No question was silly, weekly updates were looked forward to and the genuine love Charlotte has for this site is contagious.
We met Rich and Jamie later in the process but felt like we already knew them as this is a team that work incredibly well together. Again, no question was considered silly and we felt supported throughout the whole process from picking the plot, understanding the work that goes into the houses, having the preplaster walkaround, managing our expectations and finally having the demonstration leading up to the big day.
Since moving, we have had the full support from both Rich and Jamie for any minor snags we have found and these have been dealt with swiftly. Where snags are still outstanding, Jamie has ensured he follows up with an idea of when this will be dealt with which ensures we know these issues haven't been forgotten about.
We absolutely love living in our new home, it truly is a dream come true. Our children constantly tell us how much they love their new house which really shows we made the right choice for our family. The neighbours have been lovely, and the lads on site have been respectful of not parking over our driveway or checking they weren't causing an issue which is always appreciated.
I really hope Harron Homes see the amazing work Charlotte, Rich and Jamie all do and the extra mile they all take because they are a true credit to the business. A huge thank you from our family to you all for making our dream a reality. If you ever need a brew, you know where we are!

While I have not purchased a Harron Homes, I still saw fit to write this review of Nicola at the Howden project East Yorkshire. What a lovely person. Very thorough and professional throughout our meetings and following texts/emails. So wanted to understand the requirements I had for my new home so enable the right recommendations. Went the extra mile to ensure I viewed the intended property, event though this ment a visit to their nearest project 35mins from Howden: very punctual and not pushy. A wealth of knowledge. Ask her about heat pumps 👍😂.
Regards the Harron Homes properties viewed, I found them spacious and of good quality. Ideal family home and well equipped. The site at Howden didn’t give you the feeling of properties “crammed” together, you could breathe.
Again, fantastic sales consultant at Howden and you won’t be disappointed when visiting.

Buying a home from Harron Homes has been an utterly miserable experience and one I deeply regret. What we’ve faced since moving in goes far beyond “snagging” and into the territory of dangerous workmanship, poor construction, and blatant refusal to take responsibility.
Our property was handed over with hazardous landscaping, including rubble and bricks buried beneath the surface and dangerously uneven ground that directly caused injury to my little girls ankle!! We’ve suffered flooding at the side of our property due to completely inadequate drainage, alongside persistent heating and plumbing failures that should never exist in a supposedly new, professionally built home.
The aftercare process has been just as appalling as the build quality. Harron Homes routinely ignore emails, give contradictory information, and force homeowners to relentlessly chase responses. Nothing is resolved without repeated escalation, wasted time, and time off work.
Most recently, we experienced a leak at the property. We paid for an independent, qualified plumber to investigate, who confirmed in writing that the issue was not caused by cold weather. Despite this professional evidence, Harron Homes are now refusing to honour their own 2-year warranty, lazily blaming “cold weather” and dismissing expert findings purely to avoid fixing defective work. This behaviour is depressingly familiar: deny responsibility, delay action, deflect blame, and hope the homeowner gives up.
Even when faults are eventually acknowledged, action only comes after months of stress and persistence. Their response to our formal complaint was insultingly inadequate — vague apologies, excuses, zero accountability, no compensation, and no reassurance that standards will improve.
For a company that boasts about director-level checks and NHBC sign-off, the quality and aftercare have been shockingly poor. We bought in good faith, expecting a safe, well-built home. Instead, we’ve been left dealing with serious defects that should never have existed in the first place.
I would strongly warn anyone considering Harron Homes to think very carefully before proceeding. This is likely the biggest purchase of your life — and based on our experience, Harron Homes cannot be trusted to deliver a safe, competent build or to stand behind their work when it fails.

Our journey with Shipley Lakeside began over a year ago and, unfortunately, went downhill steadily from there.
From the outset, we were told our own home had to be sold in order to reserve a plot. We identified a plot we thought we loved, put our family home on the market, and prepared to move into rented accommodation to make it happen.
Although we were using our own trusted mortgage advisor, we were strongly pushed to speak with Harron’s recommended mortgage advisor, Jason. We did so briefly, during which our affordability for the plot was signed off despite us not even knowing the purchase price. Following that, there was continued pressure to deal exclusively through him. This was the first red flag.
As the process continued, “extras” began appearing from every direction. Assumptions you would reasonably make about a modern new build, such as a fridge freezer or dishwasher being included with a fitted kitchen, proved incorrect. Instead, these came at additional costs of £1,800 and £900 respectively. While we expected some upgrades to be optional, the sheer number and cost of these additions quickly mounted. Combined with the fact that the actual house price was being kept frustratingly vague and we were not allowed to early-reserve to secure the property, even after selling our home, the whole process felt like a numbers game where we had no control.
By late summer, six months in, our house was sold and completion looming and we still had no clarity on next steps. Out of frustration, I asked on social media about other people’s experiences. Many responses, including from current Lakeside residents, advised avoiding the development entirely. At our next visit to the sales office, I was reprimanded by the sales advisor for this and left feeling humiliated.
That moment stripped away any remaining rose-tinted view. We began looking elsewhere and soon found another builder nearby who, from the very first meeting, treated us with respect, honesty, and full transparency.
Walking away from a lakeside plot was difficult, but it raised an important question: if we were treated so poorly before buying, what would the experience have been like once we had signed something and put money down?
In hindsight, I should probably thank Harron. Had we not been treated so appallingly, we wouldn’t have found the beautiful home that we’re happily settled in now. All’s well that ends well… because we didn’t buy a Harron home!

We are very pleased with our new home built by Harron Homes on the De Maulay Estate, New Rossington, Doncaster.
From Day 1 of the process of buying our home, our Sales Advisor Alison provided excellent customer care, giving good advice at every stage of the process. Alison was always friendly and readily available to listen to our concerns.
During the process we met Paul, the Site Manager, who proved a source of valuable information regarding our new home. Paul and his team have always been approachable and carry out their work with professionalism and friendliness.
We have also had occasion to contact the customer care management team who have shown a willingness to help with the same customer care attitude.
Although we still have some issues Harron Homes are dealing with on our behalf, we are confident of good outcomes and for that reason we give them a 5 star review for customer care.

This is not a company review, it's a review of the sales executive in the site office at the Castle Gardens development.
After a poor start to our journey Natalie Wild became our contact at the site office. She very quickly came up to speed with our situation, showing empathy and understanding. Throughout the many problems we encountered with this company, she at all times was truthful and honest and tried her best to explain why things were not happening as promised, always professional and her personality shone through. Natalie is a credit to Harron Homes and with her assistance and guidance, together we reached the end of a painful journey ( May to December 2025)

We’re extremely happy with the service from Harron Homes and have had a great experience moving into our new build home just before Christmas.
Natalie has been absolutely amazing throughout the entire process. She kept us regularly informed on the progress of the build, including sending photos, and was always available to answer any questions we had. Her communication and support really made the whole journey feel smooth and stress-free.
We’ve also been very impressed with the site manager, Rowan, who has been quick and responsive in addressing the inevitable snags that come with a new build. Everything has been handled efficiently and professionally.
Overall, it’s been a fantastic experience and we can’t thank Natalie and Rowan enough for making the whole process so easy. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Harron Homes.

I am writing this as a home owner of Harron Homes, we purchased a Bourton property in summer 2024. Since the grace period of one week to raise snags, we’ve had nothing but problems. Firstly I raise the most important issue which is the temperature in our home, as all parents, or expected parents you will be aware of the safe sleep guidelines, we have a massive issue with our two bedrooms above the integral garage being absolutely freezing despite what we do to try and keep these warm, however the main issue being the upstairs thermostat being in our main bedroom, this results in the bedroom being sometimes up to 5 degrees different, to the rest of upstairs, we know this due to having other room temperature reading devices, they do not provide TRV’s on radiators they believe to be close to the thermostat meaning you have no control over the temperature of the radiators within your home but also that the thermostat system does not trigger the heating system, which has resulted in either our child waking from being too cold, getting constant illnesses or over heating as the only way we can get the heating to come on is if we raise our room temperature to over 23 degrees and have a window open all night, as I am Postpartum, recovering from a emergency c-section you can only imagine the amount of illnesses I get with a weaken immune system but most importantly the percentage increase for the risk of SIDS. We have had two inspectors come into our property who have raised to us they have had a number of complaints regarding the thermostat location and how they’ve insisted for them to change the location either to a hallway or the coldest bedroom to help resolve this issue. They have refused. We have raised this issue to Harron homes and given a few options we’d be happy with, moving it a half a meter into the hallway, provide a portable thermostat, or provide us TRV’s so we can adjust our radiator, they’ve responded given us plenty of excuses and refusing to rectify this issue, as they say we were made aware that our property had a bedroom thermostat. To anyone who doesn’t have children this isn’t an issue but once you have a child, following the guideline for their safety it becomes a massive issue and concern. We have had issues with, patio door handles coming off, skirting boards chipping massive chunks of wood away, our front garden ripped up and moved the boarder back, which has now resulted in dead grass and hedges which was unsalvageable, a bath which has cracked for no apparent reason which also a workman confirmed he doesn’t see how that has happened and should of been replaced, it costs them £80 for a replacement bath which they refuse the to change and will only provide a cosmetic repair. The list is endless, I could go on and on but I don’t want to take away from the fact that I desperately stress anyone considering wanting to purchase a Harron home house, who have children, want children or even look after children on a regular basis to avoid at all costs.

My wife and I recently moved into one of the homes at the De Maulay development and had a very positive experience with Harron Homes throughout the process. We worked closely with Alison, who was our main point of contact. She was instrumental in enabling us to view properties in the first place, particularly following the retirement of Jeannete, whom we had originally contacted.
Alison was consistently friendly, approachable, and professional, and she truly embodies the caring nature of both herself and the company she represents. During the construction of our home, the site manager, Paul, took the time to show us the different stages of the build—something we had never experienced before and greatly appreciated.
Even after we moved in, both Alison and Paul visited to check that everything was going well, which speaks volumes about their commitment to customer care. It is a shame that buying a home is not something you do more often, as we would happily choose Harron Homes again.
Thank you once again for all your help.

We moved into our new home at Shipley Lakeside a couple of months ago and couldn’t be happier with our Harron Homes journey. From our first meet with Charlotte in the show room to the after purchase care received from Rich, Jamie and the rest of the site team, they’ve all been fantastic.
We went through the part exchange process of our old property which took away so much of the stress of moving. Harron’s recommended mortgage brokers and solicitors were both a dream to work with.
We can’t thank the team enough for their knowledge, professionalism and kindness. Charlotte even sends you weekly progress pics as your home is being built so you feel connected to the journey.
We’d highly recommend purchasing from this great team at this beautiful location!

She kept us updated throughout through our personalised WhatsApp Group, always answering any questions we had with honesty and clarity. We truly felt taken care of, and the whole experience was stress-free. Highly recommend working with Charlotte if you're considering a new Harron home!

A year ago we started the process of looking into a new build home. Harron homes caught our eye because the house designs are attractive and have character to them. When we found our ideal area our site manager Ann was absolutely fantastic in helping us get set up going above and beyond to help us land our dream home and she was always available to ease any worries, answer questions and generally just being an amazing person to work with.
The home itself is built extremely well and all our choices have been met, and since moving in we have had no issues with anything. The move has been practically seamless and even with it being so close to christmas the site team have been amazingly present to check in and make sure that we are doing well.

From our initial drop in to the show home at Shipley Lakeside moments before closing, Charlotte made us feel incredibly welcome and took the time to give an overview of the site and show home, and booked us straight in for a viewing of available plots. Each meeting since has been a pleasure and Charlottes knowledge and customer service have been outstanding. This has given us a real trust in Harron Homes and assured us we have chosen the best developer for us. The development itself is stunning and we can’t wait to walk our dogs around the lake! Thank you so much Charlotte, you are an absolute star!

We had an amazing experience with Ann at Brierley Heath. From the very beginning of our journey through to being in our fabulous home now for a month, she has been incredibly helpful, caring, and kind. Thanks to her dedication and support, we now have a beautiful forever home for our family. We are truly grateful for everything she has done and couldn’t have asked for a better sales representative.
We have been very impressed with Harron homes and would recommend them highly!

I am writing this not merely as feedback, but as a severe warning to any potential buyer considering a part-exchange deal with Harron Homes. My experience purchasing a four-bedroom property at Chariots Keep was not just disappointing—it was a systemic failure resulting in five months of my life being wasted and my family being left in limbo.
The process began with the smooth agreement of a full part-exchange, establishing an October completion date—a date we confidently relayed to the purchasers of our existing home. The machinery ground to a halt in September when our dedicated sales advisor vanished without notice. This was followed by a protracted, agonising six-week period of absolute corporate silence. No handover, no updates, just a blank wall of non-communication that left us bewildered.
When a new advisor finally surfaced in late October, the completion was abruptly pushed to December, forcing us to race against a new, imaginary deadline. The root cause of the slowdown quickly became apparent: Harron Homes’ internal legal team. Despite my solicitor aggressively chasing documents, the consistently glacial and unsatisfactory responses from Harron’s side became the primary bottleneck. The family buying our part-exchange property faced the exact same paralysis.
This corporate inertia had catastrophic consequences. Just two days before the scheduled exchange of contracts, our part-exchange buyers—exhausted and frustrated by the months of delay caused solely by Harron’s solicitor’s incompetence—pulled out. While immensely frustrating, this should have been a non-issue, as Harron had already contractually agreed to take our property in full part exchange.
The final act of utter corporate cynicism arrived today.
The newly appointed Sales Manager called to deliver the crushing news: the entire purchase was cancelled. Their official justification was a completely fabricated lie, citing vague “issues” with our property (a claim directly contradicted by our former buyers). The cruel reality was then laid bare: Harron Homes had simply found "another buyer who better suited their timeline and offer."
To be strung along for five months, invest significant time and legal fees, only to be tossed aside 48 hours before exchange because a "better offer" materialised, reveals a company that operates with zero ethical integrity and views customer agreements as entirely disposable.
This was not a simple delay; it was a devastating breach of trust and a showcase of staggering incompetence.
Any potential buyer needs to view Harron Homes as a cynical, unethical, and fundamentally incompetent builder whose written agreements hold no weight when a marginally better profit opportunity arises. You are better off dealing with virtually anyone else but these cowboy builders.
Charlotte was friendly and professional throughout our exchanges with her, and helped us efficiently secure our new house!

Réponse de Harron Homes
Regrettably purchased our home with Harron Homes, De Mauley Manor.
In summary:
We were mis-sold our property from the get go, with false promises being made by the HH sales representatives making promises on paying stamp duty and also mis-quoting the house price we purchased. We eventually had to compromise and pay the stamp duty ourselves as my partner was pregnant and needed to purchase a home we could move into quickly.
Their customer service post-purchase has been awful, inattentive and avoidant. For example, our bath tub cracked in the early months of us moving in, they sent someone to look at it who advised it was faulty and that it should be replaced, however they only ever offered a repair and the issue remains outstanding.
Months after moving in, we received a knock at the door to say they had made an error with the border line of the property and that our hedge row would need to be moved back, which had this been the aesthetic when purchasing the property, we would have thought again as it looks awful (see attached photos, initially the hedge row was adjacent to the path).
For two years running, we have had issues with our air source heat pumps. The first year as we approached the cold winter months, whilst my partner was heavily pregnant, we were without heating and hot water for several days due to a fault with our air source heat pump. HH reimbursed us the cost of two small heaters to heat our home over this period. In addition to this, we had multiple visits from an engineer / plumber who could not fully understand the issues, without several people on site admitting no one was adequately trained or qualified for the heat pumps (we even had workmen knock at our door to look at our install to see how to install the others on the site). Eventually, it transpired that they had configured the heat pump incorrectly, with upstairs heating downstairs, and downstairs heating upstairs. Fast forward one year, we still have issues with our hot water pressure, water heat and our radiators warm through thoroughly or evenly, with some radiators hotter than others, some not warming at all and none of the radiators warm all the way through, with the bottom of the radiator remaining cold.
Some additional minor issues which we haven’t bothered raising with HH due to poor customer service and little faith that they will care to advise us appropriately.
Numerous emails to their directors and managing director, without any acknowledgement or response.
The only positive is any site men, including the site managers have always been warm and positive, could be a little more helpful but I appreciate it’s their jobs to build the homes, not keep them functioning.
“Award winning homes” certainly not in our experience.
