Went to Blackpool take away and staff member Lewis R working hard mainly by himself while some technical issue had occurred he remained calm and polite he is a credit to your branch well done Lewis R good was fab

Had an over 60's fish, chips and coffee, the fish was as small as a gold fish there were about 20 chips, we waited over 40 minutes for it as well. It was pathetic, very disappointing and not very nice, certainly not worth the money, save the cash and go elsewhere, I felt robbed, not nice at all and hungry when I left!

Visited with my partner as a special treat. While the food was nice and warm sadly the service was completely opposite. Having worked in the hospitality industry myself I understand how much pressure they can be under when busy. The staff were rude and clearly didn’t want to be there walking around on their personal mobile phones. Once we finished our meal they were quick to snatch the plates away without an offer of a pudding, further drinks or the bill. While we could see they were busy we patiently waiting near to an hour for them to come over to see if everything was ok so we could ask for the bill. After this point we gave up and tried to ask for a bill but were stared at and ignored by the staff. When walking up to the till to ask the superviser gent who was extremely polite for the bill. I apologised for coming up and mentioned we hadn’t been see to for nearly and hour and wanted to give our table to another family awaiting for a seat ( not morning at all as I know they were extremely busy only trying to help them). I was stopped by a waitress who was extremely rude and abusive towards me, making me feel extremely uncomfortable. Sadly I loved this restaurant would also tip well and recommend to everyone. But this blonde waitress I’m unsure of her name has now ruined this experience and I’m unlikely to return.

Never been to Harry Ramsden's before. But heard how fabulously and tasty the famous fish and chips are so we thought we would try whilst on a visit to Blackpool. Well we had to wait in a queue for over 30 minutes before a table was availible. Was then told by waiteress there was 35 minute wait for food.. After 45 minutes of waiting our meal arrived. The chips were luke warm as was the fish, the peas were the only thing that was of the right temperature. Surley after waiting fur 45 minutes you would have thought food would have been served piping hot straight out of the fryer. (Food is supose to be served at a certain temperature) Chips had lots of big eyes in them too. We did mention this disappointment to the waitress who couldn't apologise enough. We were really looking forward to our meal but never again. And after learn food is no longer cooked in beef dripping it was nothing special. Any other chippy could serve simaler or better.

Toilets disgusting the whole place is grotty. It needs a complete refurbish

Eastbourne branch, Sat 19th Oct, nice waitress, good cup of tea but soggy batter, soft chips lacking any texture.
Very disappointing. Stick to independent outlets in future - lesson learned.

They call themselves the best fish and chips - couldn’t be further from the truth. I just paid £28 for 2 portions of fish and chips in Bournemouth. After waiting for 30 minutes for them to be cooked and wrapped they completely underwhelmed me - overcooked chips that were, paradoxically, only luke warm. Half of the chips were bottom of the pan scrag ends. Won’t be using them again.

Excellent service from Gill at Harry Ramsden, again.Friendly and available when we needed anything, made us feel welcome, food arrived quickly. Would definitely come back.

Great staff at Blackpool but afternoon tea we bough had 4 battered pickles on it, nowhere on the description on the Buyagift page did it say pickles, wrote an email to ask if this was normal, got a curt reply stating it says this on the menu, not where I bought it it doesn’t and we also were not told this when we sat down, now I’m reading the reviews on here that the food is cooked in beef fat but when you search on the HR website it says they haven’t used this for years, the afternoon tea was poor value and I agree since they sold out to deep blue restaurants it’s gone downhill

Cooked in awful cheap beef fat. Wife vegetarian really dissatisfied.

Cheshire Oaks. The greeter/server really didn't want to be there. His attitude of couldn't care less was obvious from the start. When I asked for a table he just pointed at a table. Having taken a seat at the identified table he brought a small bucket with napkin, knife, and fork and just dropped it on the table.
A few minutes later he handed me a menu. I sat there for about 10 minutes before he came to take my order. No please, thank you or anything polite. He took my order and required me to pay beforehand. Is this company policy?
The table was clear but very sticky.
The food arrived. Very small plate and even smaller portion. Not freshly cooked, sadly.
Is this what Harry Ramsden has become?

The chips taste terrible - very greasy :-( and the weirdest tasting tartare sauce I couldn’t eat it . They must have changed their ingredients. Shame

Went to harry Ramsden at great Yarmouth, absolutely awful place to eat, not very clean, adults meal on a childs plate, staff couldn't get orders correct even after doing the order on line, toilets in an appalling state, definitely would not recommend this place

Nice spot for a meal. Good fast welcome and service to start. Meal came we quickly and food was good. Little expensive but portion size ok. Went downhill from there. Had ordered ice cream but after asking for it three times I had to cancel this otherwise it would have cost me another 2.70 for more parking time. Don't really think it should take 20 minutes to spoon two scoops of ice cream into a bowl. Disappointing at the end.

In a nutshell, they advertise on the menu freshly cooked chips. However, the food was all cold. The fish size was terrible.

We wanted to complain but none of the staff bothered to ask us if the food was ok or indeed be anywhere to be seen otherwise chatting to themselves.

Finally, grabbed someone and advised how unhappy we were. An Asian guy in his late 20s was sent over (so we assume he was a manager/supervisor). He apologised and said he would refund 20% which we agreed to. Since then, we have chased by emailing them and chasing the refund. They get the emails as is is a support ticket system but never have bothered to respond or provide the refund.

The supervisor/manager therefore LIED and is a deceitful and dishonest individual. He said he had put the refund through whilst we were there!!

Since Harry Ramsden's was brought by Deep Blue Restaurants Ltd, everything has gone down from service to food quality and they rely on the brand name to get business. DO NOT BE DECEIVED!

Drove to Bournemouth from London for a day out and to enjoy "World Famous" fish and chips at Harry Ramsdens. Once seated, we looked at the menu. 2x cod and chips and Prawns starter to share. I noticed that they had a pork sausage on the starter menu. I asked the waitress if the pork sausage was fried in the same oil as the fish. She went to the kitchen to confirm. She returned saying that it was. I was horrified. I am muslim, and can always eat elsewhere. But what about the Pescetarians? Surely separating meat from fish is a simple thing to do even for a company as big as Harry Ramsdens. Cross contamination is not acceptable in what I considered a Fish restaurant. Halal only applies to Red meat and chicken etc. Seafood automatically qualifies as Halal. When my non muslim companion returned from the Ladies room, I explained this to her and we left. She was disappointed as I had promised her "World Famous"

No peas in tins of mushy peas!!
I bought half a dozen tins of Harry Ramsdens Mushy Peas, opened the first two cans and found there were no peas in the cans - just green juice!!!!!! Will be buying Bachelors in future

First and last time I will buy their frozen Steak Pie. Hardly any steak and what was there had lots of grissel. No gravy so very dry. Ended up in bin!

LIAM one of the managers at Eastbourne branch, was very helpful. Polite. and friendly. We had problem with our voucher and he sorted it all out for us. The afternoon tea was absolutely great, plenty to eat and tasted lovely.

Harry Ramsden Blackpool. Were taken to our seats and although not very busy no one came to take our order. Waited another 5 mins and left. Amazing,none of the staff seemed to care.
