Very useful tool

I was a Dexcom\Stelo user for a bit over a year and decided to try Lingo out for comparison.

I really liked that the glucose monitoring was real-time, and not averaged over a course of time like Stelo. The application was very easy to use and much more informative, though it does seem like this is targeted more for people who want a lifestyle product, and less for non-insulin dependent type 2 diabetics. Being the latter, I was looking for a product that would reduce the finger sticks and give me more of an edge on managing my diabetes.

One thing I noticed was that the actual sugar levels seemed to be a tiny bit less accurate than a finger stick, I would say they ran a bit lower than actual, but I still found the product to be a far better tool than Stelo.

I no longer wear a biosensor just because it costs so much and I don't really need to test as frequently anymore, but I would likely continue to use Lingo if needed.

One downside, as someone who swims a lot, is the sensor's water resistance duration. The documentation says its a fairly short time if my memory serves me well, so I had to wear a waterproof over-patch intended for people who are active. It wasn't a terrible thing, but it does add to the cost of using such a product. I wish the water resistance and adhesion was better.

Definitely recommend Lingo for healthy diet, stress, and exercise. I dont have diabetes.
Very reliable, easy to use, accurate for my needs and no problem with disconnections

Great tool.

Lingo has allowed me to learn about my sugar levels and when do they spike. As a newly diagnosed diabetic Lingo has helped me learn about foods that raises my glucose level and inspire me to change my eating habits.

Lingo’s honest review

I’ve been using Lingo for about three weeks, and while the concept is great, the overall experience has been frustrating. I love the idea of real-time glucose monitoring, and it has helped me understand my blood sugar better—especially cutting down on sugary coffee creamers. But the device itself needs a lot more reliability.

The biggest issue is the biosensor. It frequently fails to load, and I often have to turn Bluetooth off and on, or even restart my phone, just to get a reading. It’s a lot of extra work for something that’s supposed to be seamless.

The sensor also comes off easily. My husband wears one as well, and when he goes to Jiu-Jitsu—even with a bandage over it—the sensor doesn’t stay secured on the upper arm. We also received a couple of defective sensors where the needle bent right away, making them unusable. Considering the cost, throwing away a sensor like that is extremely disappointing.

I truly believe Abbott can improve the product, especially around sensor durability and connectivity. Lingo has great potential, and it really can help with lifestyle changes. But as of now, I’m unsure if I’ll purchase more sensors or look into other companies with more stable connectivity.

Lingo has saved me from the pain of…

Lingo has saved me from the pain of sticking my finger everyday. I am able to check right after I eat to determine how certain foods affect my sugar.

The Lingo continuous glucose monitor…

The Lingo continuous glucose monitor has been a game changer in how I manage my diabetes type 2. Being able to watch the effects of what I eat and do throughout the day has really helped me spot the changes I need to make. I feel SO much better now than I did before I started using it.

Not having to prick my finger in the…

Not having to prick my finger in the morning, it’s a win-win. Knowing how the body reacts to different foods, and at different times a day, a discovery. I highly recommend Lingo to everybody, even if it’s not to monitoring glucose. Lingo has become my best friend ❤️

Non Diabetic Use of the Lingo Biosensor

First, I'm non diabetic. I used the Lingo for 4 weeks (2 biosensors). The application was painless and the sensor was never a problem during normal activities including showers.

I had a lab based blood test during the use of the Lingo and it (the Lingo) turns out to be about 88% accurate when compared to a lab result. Basically I took a screen shot just before the blood draw, so all other factors (fasting) would be consistent.

For my purposes, this was good enough. My goal was to see how different food/drink combinations reacted with regards to glucose spikes. I was able to identify several foods that caused spikes that I would not have imagined otherwise. This has allowed me to know what to avoid or minimize intake.

I may purchase the Lingo again in about 6 months to see if my changes have made a difference. For me the journey was a success. I also like the fact that the Lingo gives you readings every minute. At first I thought this would be data overload, but turned out to be very useful.

One final note, the second biosensor would go offline more frequently which forced me to reboot my iPhone several times to get it to be recognized again. This wouldn't stop me from recommending the Lingo or from buying another in the future.

Works Average

The packaging and design gave me high expectations, but the actual performance didn’t hold up. My blood sugar readings often didn’t align with my usual device, and a few sensors detached early. The app is attractive yet feels focused on upselling extras instead of providing meaningful analytics. I managed to contact support after multiple emails, and while they were pleasant, the resolution took too long. It’s a product with potential, but not quite ready for those who need dependable results day after day.

This glucose monitor looked promising…

This glucose monitor looked promising but the performance did not match the claims. My results were noticeably off compared to standard finger checks and the sensors stopped functioning much sooner than expected. The app feels more like a marketing tool than something genuinely useful. The support team was kind but hard to reach at times. I really hoped for a dependable solution to help track my blood sugar yet this product was not consistent enough.

I had high expectations for this…

I had high expectations for this monitor but accuracy was an issue from the start. My readings were inconsistent and one of the sensors failed within the first week. Customer service did try to help but replacing it was a slow process. The app’s lifestyle section seemed more like advertising than medical insight. It is a pity because the idea behind the product is great but the execution still needs improvement.

I really wanted this device to be a…

I really wanted this device to be a reliable way to track my glucose levels, but it fell short. The readings were often lower than my usual finger tests and both sensors stopped working after about ten days. The app looked nice but most of the advice felt more promotional than practical. Support was polite but communication took a while since the team was overseas. As someone managing prediabetes I was hoping for a solid alternative to Libre 3 but this one did not deliver.
