Husband went to Henry Ford Rochester…jenry Ford ER

Husband went to Henry Ford Rochester for a hypertensive crisis. His BP was over 180/150. We were there for over 5 hours prior to him being given anything to lower the Bp. During this 5 hour period his BP continued to rise with no intervention. The doctor arived after 6 hours and was rude and condensing. I had to argue with him to get BP medication administered. What a horrible experience.

They don’t care!!!!

Don’t go to St. John’s aka Henry ford on Moross… they will bill your insurance.. admit you and still have you sitting in the lobby for 8 hours and have no answers for your plan of health care or a room to even sit in… please if you can go to Corewell Health… you will be treated like an actual human that needs help and will be happy with your care and all your needs met…but to each’s own I guess!!! Speaking from experience… be sure to get an itemized bill of care to dispute if this has ever happened to you…!!!

The doctor rushes.

The doctor only has 20 minutes to see a patient and the doctor spends 10 minutes to review the patient's file. The doctor has no time to know the patient's current situation and explain the treatment.

Unacceptable treatment of a long-term patient

If I could give zero stars I would. I visited the emergency room this morning in excruciating unexplained pain. Deeply concerned that I might need urgent surgery for gallbladder or appendix issue. Instead of receiving medical evaluation by the intake nurse getting my vitals, I was immediately met with condensation and hostility by her. I was belittled and told I should just go to my primary care physician for questions regarding the pain that had come and gone for the last couple of months with unexplained answers. When I pointed out that my doctor is booked out for months and asked what a patient is supposed to do in an acute pain crisis. This response was a dismissive. This is an emergency room. We do emergency care. I have trusted this hospital Network for 15 to 20 years but this experience completely shattered My trust. Nobody should be made to fill small when they are in physical agony and looking for help. On a bright note, if it wasn't for my nurse Raphael, I would have turned around and walked out! By the time I got to my room, I was in tears and ready to leave but he took time to listen to me with care and compassion and took great care of me! Sad to say that within the first few seconds of the Doctor coming in he did the same thing as the intake person and had to remind me again that this was an emergency room where they did emergency care and I might not get any answers. I must have walked in that day with a sign on my forehead that says I'm dumb and don't understand what an emergency room is. I have to say within several minutes of talking with him. He did change his tune and then did proceed to give me very good care. Sad. I feel like I had to fight for it!
This facility seriously needs to retrain certain staff on basic empathy and patient care!

Sky high fees.

Henry Ford doctor’s offices are now adding on facility fees just for being in one of their standard examining rooms that are just under one and a half times the cost of the actual doctors fee. Criminal.

If I could give zero stars to the Dr…

If I could give zero stars to the Dr Kevorkian Hospital, I would. Despite trying to reinvent themselves with a new name, Henry Ford in Jackson, MI, has horrible care. Their approach to medicine is assembly line. Now, they don’t even have an endocrinology dept. Oh they will tell you they do, but it is in Detroit, 2 hours away, and they will only do televisits. Their phone system is a nightmare and while nurses say they will call you back, they never do.

Horrible care!…

The care my mother has received at this practice has been very disappointing. She has Stage 3 chronic kidney disease and was never clearly informed of this diagnosis. When her previous doctor retired, she casually mentioned, “I don’t know if you know this, but we are watching your kidneys,” which was the first time my mother realized the seriousness of the issue.

Since getting a new doctor, the level of care and communication has been extremely poor—from the nurses to the physician. Recently, my mother had very low blood pressure and called the office. A nurse told her she would speak with the doctor and call her back, but no one ever did. The next day she called again and was given advice by another nurse, but shortly after her blood pressure became very high. She called again and was told her message would be marked as a priority, yet she still never received a return call. The following day she called again and was once again told it would be marked as a priority, but no one followed up.

Because of the lack of response, my mother ended up going to urgent care and received better attention there than she has at this practice.

When she was finally seen at the office the next day, we expected she would be referred to a nephrologist or renal dietitian due to her Stage 3 kidney disease, but no referrals were made. Even more concerning, the doctor told her that when she saw how low her blood pressure was, she “didn’t know what to do.”

At this point, we no longer have confidence in this practice. Patients should feel like their health concerns are taken seriously and that they are a priority. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience.

Absolutely terrible answering system.

The physicians and especially nurses and clinic staff are great. BUT, you might never be able to get there as the phone system, and very very annoying incompetent answering system, will be so time-consuming and frustrating you will probably give up on going there. I have spent nearly 30 minutes on line just trying to get the system to connect me to the right office- hearing aid repair. The "direct" lines just send you into the same endless loop with constant annoying ads and an AI voice that cannot understand the word "audiology" or "hearing aids". Please have the voice give you a chance to answer without giving you a bunch of examples. Unnecessary waste of time.

This is about Henry Ford Wyndotte…

This is about Henry Ford Wyndotte Hospital. I went in due to lower back pain. I didn't realize I was dehydrated as well. I very nearly fainted in the hallway of my Apt building. My neighbor called an ambulance for me. No xrays were taken of my back. I'm not sure if they took any blood tests to see if I had an inflammation because my lower back was burning. They diagnosed me with sciatica. But they ran no test. A young Doctor came in the room talked about my health insurance I had Medicare/Medicaid with a spend down. Oh they did take an xray of my chest and I still don't know why and no results were forthcoming. Now I have even better insurance. My insurance pays for everything. And I'm making sure that Henry Ford Wyndotte Hospital doesn't get to enjoy any pay out when I get really sick again. The nurses were fine though. Nurses were decent. That Dr. needs to be concerned with my health. Not my insurance. I didn't like his attitude.

Puts profits above patients.

Since Henry Ford took over my doctor’s practice from Ascension there has been a clear negative change in the treatment of patients as customers. The takeover was more than a year ago and staff still complains that “the new system” is the cause of long waits, dropped phone calls, messages not getting to doctors, and slowdowns in service that are requiring appointments being rescheduled by more than a month. It took me a week to get a referral (or rather “referral order”, as I was corrected) to a local ENT, instead of one affiliated with Henry Ford. When I complained to the office’s practice manager that the nearest Henry Ford ENT was 200 miles away and that I couldn’t drive due to dizziness, she said she “didn’t care”, that all the other health systems made it hard to use outside doctors because they “had to make a profit”! Complaints to Herry Ford fall on deaf ears, with them blaming the doctor’s office and vice-versa. Henry Ford, please listen to and treat patients as customers, and not profit sources.

Absolute garbage!

Absolute garbage!
Every time I've gone to these morticians, they take my insurance, take my Copay, bill my insurance then send me a bill!!!
All this crap, and they never even, so much as took a blood sample, X-ray, throat culture, or a urine sample. Just asked questions and sent me on my way!
🖕These lowlife, blood sucking, losers!

Assembly Line Medicine

If you want assembly line medicine Henry Ford Health is for you! While the doctors are wonderful, YOU CAN'T GET INTO SEE THEM! Even after emergencies you have to wait for an "available appointment". Then when you finally get in, appointments are limited to 20 minutes and NO ONE HAS READ YOUR CHART.
This was my fourth ridiculous, inadequate experience in as many months.
So, if you need medical care , do not choose Henry Ford Health. They are only interested in the bottom line and not the patient.
