After contacting the customer services as per a response to my previous review, this remains a very disappointing one star for this product.
I've never had any problems with previous and current razors but I thought I may as well try this one considering it is a gift set. I will not be changing my choice of razors especially when no one can better it in every essential area.
I don't know who the intended marketing structure is based on but it's certainly not for anyone looking for a better option than what's been available for years in fact quite the reverse.

Is it the best shave Ive ever had: no.
Is it the best value: Yes, by far, I wish I had this when I was 16.

If youre looking to be blown away, it wont do that. If youre looking to not have to worry about expensive refills or whether you can give a disposable blade one more use before tossing, this is a great alternative as you can get a lifetime of blades for $10.

One note: The shave is a little gentle-- which may be a positive for some, and a negative for others. Id generally want it to be slightly more aggressive-- as it requires a couple passes to shave close-- but once you know that it's not a big deal.

Very disappointed in this product. I gave it a fair chance - tried it five times and switched out the blades according to the instructions, but I was lacerated each time I used it. The old fashioned Wilkenson Sword razors from decades ago were better. I will return to my Harry's subscription and hope Henson does the right thing and refunds my money.

I ordered one of these razors after I saw an offer where you could get a box of 100 blades for free. The order was placed the 20th of the month, then I got an email saying it had shipped on the 21st, then I checked the tracking number and all updates stopped on the 24th. It’s been 20 days since I ordered the razor, and I never got it delivered.

I wrote a few times along the way to ask for a refund, and the rep said they couldn’t give me a refund until 20 days had passed and they could consider it lost in transit. In the end I asked again and they sent me an email saying they would issue a full refund.

I’ve now read a few reviews in Trustpilot and several people have had the same issue. I can’t imagine having to deal with shipping it back for a return (because that’s on you) had that been the case.

Maybe they have great engineering and manufacturing but unacceptable logistics, and who knows about the actual shaving experience. Mixed bag.

Mid product, good ads. Reviews won't get posted on their website - they seem to control the ratios very precisely, only letting some low reviews get through.

Used for a couple months, very mid razor. Not even as clean as a cartridge, disposable razor. Not even a marketing masterclass. Just a scam and manipulation of media.

Hope people see this. They obviously link their 12000+ reviews because half of them are fake, and they curate exactly the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 star ratios. STAY AWAY. TRUST ME. A HIGHLY MARKETED PRODUCT CANNOT BE GOOD.

I saw the adds for this razor I thought it looked pretty cool, so I ordered one, the blue aluminum. The order did not take long to arrive, which was good because I was excited to try it out. The handle is well crafted, solid, and the blue is beautiful. Then I shaved with it. Worst shave I think I've ever had. At first I thought that, this being entirely new to me, perhaps I was doing something wrong, so I watched the videos on the website, and I tried adapting my technique to get a better shave. I tried using different shaving cream. Nothing helped, I couldn't achieve anything better than a mediocre shave. I still don't think that the concept is necessarily flawed, but it is an utterly failed execution. I suspect it is the exceptionally low quality blades that cause this to be an actual failure. Whatever the case, at the end of the day if the quality of the shave isn't there the entire system is absolute trash. I previously put a version of this on the Henson website, which they never posted, in spite of the fact that it should have gone up as a verified purchase. That's one way of making your reviews look good, unfortunately it also means that this company is fundamentally dishonest.

Update after reading reply from Henson Shaving: I waited several weeks after posting the review on their website, and they never posted it. Also, notice how they imply that I must have used profanity or been in some way offensive. This is untrue. I posted and honest and well written review. Clearly they are not to be trusted, as they have here given evidence.

When I put in my order with Henson, they had all my personal information from my email address, altho I had never shopped with them before. Apparently they use Shop Pay and I must have also used it once because that is how they had all my information. Most of their contact info is social media and I am not on social media. They did respond to my email though, and enlightened me about Shop Pay so I was able to cancel my credit card number with them. I really appreciate their quick response. I am probably a bit of a luddite when it comes to using the internet.

$46 USD to ship to the UK on a 13 day service when USPS charge $15. Absolute extortion and completely lost out on a sale. Their website has absolutely no mention of their trading address or registered business information and the fact it's hosted on Shopify suggests its yet another Chinese drop shipping business selling cheap products and hiding behind a clever marketing campaign.

Well engineered and worked (shaved) very well. I had a feeling it would be good, and it was. I've tested it a few times now and am very happy.
I would recommend the purchase, as the unit is light, easy to use, serviceable and ergonomic/economic.

I had been using a 'Mule Razor' which, while also well-made, is heavy and takes some practice to get the angle just right. It also accumulated a lot of debris inside the head and so constantly needs attention, or it really starts to gum-up.

The Henson Razor is by far much easier to clean and clear - and with the swish blue-anodised body and head suffers less from staining and build-up. By slackening blade tension, you are able to quickly wash the head and remove any debris.

This product is well marketed trash. There's a lot of fake reviews for this ineffective piece of aluminum. Stick to your current razor and save your money.

I rarely write reviews but after I delt with HENSON I feel the moral obligation to let people know how genuine this company is and to what degree they care about their customers.
I had an issue with the AL13 razor so I let the customer service know about it, and let me tell you they went above and beyond any expectation I had, they even offered me a new razor for free!
If you are thinking about getting a safety razor, just stop searching it's simply the best.

I really wanted to like this razor. Its engineering, its look, its craftmanship, and its feel are excellent. That said, I was disappointed with the razor razor because (1) the razor irritated my face more than any other razor I have used and (2) the shave was not as close as I got from other razors. I tried different angles and different pressures. I also tried after-shave lotions and creams to ease the irritation but without satisfactory results. I cannot recommend this product.

To add insult to injury, I cannot return the razor under Henson's 100-day return policy because they can only issue refunds to the credit card used to make the purchase. Unfortunately for me, my credit card was cancelled after my purchase, and I no longer have a relationship with the issuing financial institution. I paid a premium price for a razor that I cannot use and cannot return.

Clever marketing but the product has failed to be effective. A straight edge razor is the reason shaving nicks occur. A piece of aluminum without a blade is $100. You don’t need that many people to buy an ineffective product to make a small fortune.

Expensive titanium razor delivers subpar shave. Compared to other razors this one is not worth the money. Company does not stand by it's product. No refunds on the $250.00 titanium. The much less expensive aluminum razors do offer refunds but the shave is no better than a quality electeic shaver. I'll keep the blue one I purchased only because it makes a nice decoration.

This razor gives a perfect shave with no irritation and little to no cuts/nicks. The only complaint I might have is razor drag, I would constantly apply more shaving cream. I found a product that makes this much less of a problem though, after I fixed my issue with the drag, because this razor does such a good job I upgraded and purchased the titanium version.
This company absolutely stands behind their products and they treat their customers very well and do everything they can to make them happy.

Any favorable comparisons between this product and its modern multi-blade counterparts must be based on nostalgic wishful thinking. Screw-down, single-blade razors went extinct for good reason and the Henson shows why. If you yearn for the days of mediocre shave quality and stemming blood loss with pieces of toilet paper, then it's the way to go. Otherwise, stick with the 3-plus blade options which are far superior by any measure.

I really do like this razor. At first I wasn’t too keen on it because I hacked myself up pretty good and my whole face burned and went red after each shave. I kept at it until I finally realized I there is a bit of a curve on the re-learning how to use the old style razor I started out on more than 50 years ago. A new and improved razor mind you but still the double edged system. Now I get good close painless shaves with no blood loss or red rash. You have to be much gentler than you do with convention 4 or 5 blade systems. So, I eased up on the pressure and slowed down on the stokes and still I can shave with water only. I bought a box of 100 blades with the razor and my guess is that at several shaves per blade, like 8 to 10, even with a pretty tough beard, and 3-4 days between shaves, I now have years of blades on hand that are a tiny fraction of the price I was previously paying. Couldn’t be happier.

I’ve had a AL13 for sometime, I noticed a strange pattern fade of the anodisation on the top plate.

I contacted customer service and they responded promptly with understanding. Unfortunately given the age of my razor they have moved to the V2 so helped me with a discounted new razor.

I’m in the UK and the replacement was sent and received within a week.

Fantastic after sales and customer service.

I’ll hopefully upgrade to the ti22 :)

Well, I was impressed by the dude in marketing’s video and ordered this rasor. It looks pretty and very light weight body BUT!! those made in India blades aren’t different than other grandpa era’s blades.
My cartridge razors are much smoother than this razor. I never had any fears of cuts while using cartridge razors but I used this razor twice since I received it and I had cut on my face every time. I had rash and uneven shave. I won’t recommend this razor for facial shave

Ordered a razor from them and they have not shipped it (both tracking numbers note the shipping company has been notified a label is created but they have not received the package from henson yet)

after talking to their support they just let me know I need to contact them again to request a refund after 30 days and will not help actually try to get the product shipped.
