Avoid this dealership. My experience was a complete waste of time from start to finish. They constantly tried to push me towards cars I wasn’t interested in and kept criticising every other option I mentioned. The moment I decided on a different car, they suddenly had nothing good to say about it because it wasn’t one of theirs.

Their prices were far higher than similar cars I found elsewhere, yet they insisted their deals were competitive. Communication was poor, phone calls were ignored, and when I finally managed to speak to them, the attitude was rude and unprofessional.

I was also told they work with all finance companies, but I found a different broker who arranged finance for me the same day at roughly half the APR they were offering. That left me questioning how honest and transparent they really are.

Overall, I felt pressured, misled, and treated poorly once it became clear I wasn’t buying from them. There are plenty of other dealerships and brokers out there that value customers and treat people with respect. I would not use this company again and would not recommend them.

Applied on line for finance and it was really quick and easy. Steven Whealan the salesman dealing with my purchase was brilliant. Helped me choose the right car for me and went through all my options and made everything as smooth as possible. Answered all my questions and kept me updated throughout

Hero Car Finance is a really good car finance company and my first time experience with them made it very simple. The staff “Mr Micheal” was very helpful and patient, and helped me through the process of getting my car. They were very fast as well in responding to my finance application like with 2 days .

Michael made this purchase very easy and the process was quick great service highly recommend

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE BUYING FROM OAKWOOD MOTOR COMPANY/ HERO FINANCE

I would strongly advise anyone to think twice before purchasing a car from this dealership.

I purchased a vehicle (Mg zs) on 16th March, with full payment completed, and was initially told the car would be ready that same weekend pending standard checks. From that point on, I experienced repeated delays, poor communication, and ultimately a completely unacceptable outcome.

The timeline kept changing — from weekend collection, to the following week, to Saturday, then Sunday, and finally I was told the car would be delivered to me on Monday. On the day of delivery, I received no communication. My calls went unanswered, I was promised they’d ring back in 20 minutes, then rang again and told it’ll be 15 minutes and when I did eventually get a response, I was told they “can’t confirm anything until the morning.”

After ignoring my further calls,I visited the dealership in person, where staff appeared unprepared and dismissive. I was initially told the car was at with MG for EV updates. However, after further questioning, the truth came out — my car had actually been given to another customer as a courtesy vehicle. They tried to say they had done this before I bought the car, either way they had lied as he was updating me through out the weeks saying it had gone in for its checks and was in the queue for the next check, knowing full well someone else was driving around in it.

This is completely unacceptable. A car that I had already paid for in full was given to someone else, without my knowledge or consent.

They did offer to resolve this by-
- Paying my first month’s finance (which was due the next day despite me not having the car)
- Offering 14p per mile compensation for the inconvenience

Neither of these come close to addressing the seriousness of what happened.

I was also told who ever had my car was not local so who knows how many extra miles would have been put on my car. I have read in other reviews mileage had significantly gone up for other customers, so this is likely something they’ve done before.

Due to the lack of transparency, broken promises, and clear breach of trust, I have now cancelled the agreement entirely.

This experience has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Certain members of staff are literally lying to your face, it was only when we asked which MG the car was at that they had to come clean! I would not recommend this dealership to my worst enemy!!!!

Lee has been an absolute pleasure to deal with from start to finish. True to his word at every stage, he delivered exactly what was promised and did so with an impressively fast turnaround time that exceeded expectations. It’s rare to find someone who combines reliability, efficiency, and genuine professionalism so effortlessly.

On top of that, his customer service is top-tier friendly, responsive, and clearly focused on making sure everything runs smoothly. You can tell he takes real pride in what he does, and it shows in the quality of his work and communication.

Keep up the fantastic work, Lee this level of service does not go unnoticed!
